I appreciate this trip down memory lane. This was the first video I saw of greg's that expanded my knowledge beyond "that dude that rated young girls".

Aside from him being a smug dumbass, the thing that really strikes me about this video is the pure excess. A $6000 gaming rig plus a half dozen other computers. A giant house with a guest house and a separate recording space. Dude was loaded and had no sense about it. I know that's old news, but greg has so much garbage about him sometimes you forget the details!

Spoiler: Why I am cynical about this investigation

I'll be totally honest, I am cynical about this investigation. I'll tell you guys why about maybe you'll understand my worries. A while back there was a sex scandal with a sythpop artist by the name of William Control who like Onision had been screwing around with his fans (on tour, AFAIK he didn't actually invite them to his house to live with him like Onision did) while still married (his wife, unlike Laney, was unaware of all this and actually divorced him when the scandal broke). Like Onision, William Control uploaded a series of #hosemad videos to his Youtube channel, insisting his accusers were all liars who were just jealous at the fact that he was dating all these other women besides them and couldn't be exclusively available to them individually, so they got together and took revenge at him through false accusations perpetrated through the media. Onision's videos seem oddly reminiscent of William's videos. I swear you guys, go and watch the William Control videos for yourselves, it's almost like Onision had studied those videos and paid close attention to what William was saying so he could copy it and use it for his own defense. William Control's alleged victims tried to get LE involved, but LE fobbed it off with the fact that it was consensual BDSM. Onision too insists that what he did with f.e. Shiloh was just a consensual BDSM relationship. William Control basically alleged that these women were just horny adolescent girls looking for rough sex with a rockstar, only to then realize they didn't actually like it. The Onision scandal bears many of the features of the William Control scandal and I strongly suspect that Onision is copying William Control's argument because he knows that was a winning argument that managed to get William Control off the hook. William Control too was contacted by teenage girls during his music career, but like Onision he always made sure to wait until they were "barely legals" at 18 before making a move, while he kept in touch with those girls over DMs (aka grooming). William Control too was domineering the women he was maintaining BDSM relationships with, even findomming some of them. If LE can't do anything about the William Control situation - where the physical abuse was immensely more brutal than anything I've heard from the Onision women, William Control was literally punching women in the face til bloody - how will LE be able to do anything about Onision? I fear LE will fob it off the same way they did with William Control: "Just star-struck horny adolescents who consented to have rough sex with a rockstar/Youtube star only to realize they didn't like it. They were free to go whenever they wanted but chose not to. Nothing we can do about it.". I fear that LE is just not going to do something about a situation that is morally reprehensible but is otherwise legally murky.

There's also another aspect to this case that worries me. Shiloh said in the first Chris Hansen interview that Onision "has recorded everything", presumably to be able to prove his innocence because why would he otherwise record himself (doing something illegal?) unless he knew it could be used later to muddy the waters? If this recorded material includes sexual encounters with Shiloh and/or other women, do they all realize that this material becomes subject to discovery in the event of a home raid for the sake of conducting a criminal investigation into Onision's computers or storage media? How comfortable are these women with Onision bringing his sex tapes to court to prove that "it was all consensual, these women consented and they were free to go whenever they wanted"? This is something they do in BDSM pornography, they interview the actors before the scene stating on camera that they really honest do voluntairly consent. If Onision has watched a lot of BDSM porn (Shiloh alleged that "he's a sex addict" who maintains large archives of internet porn) he must know about this tactic and it's very possible he took similar statements from anyone he recorded on for his private videos. These women already have PTSD and I don't know if they have the strength to sit through a long prosecution. They can act all tough before Chris Hansen who's being understanding and grandfatherly towards them, being interrogated by actual prosecutors and having to go through that whole process is something else.
