Kitchener Con made headlines recently for inviting popular voice actor Vic Mignogna to their convention. This resulted in the #KickVic crowd to slither out from
Kitchener Con missed a trick by not inviting Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial first and cementing their contracts with a financial penalty they could pay to bail out of the contract for any reason, say $10,000. Silently offer Vic the same contract, and when Marchi and Rial have both signed the contract and are on-board announce Vic as a surprise guest. That's either an easy $20,000 when Jamie and Monica bail or easy TI evidence to hand over to Ty and Martinez if they try to pressure KC to #KickVic.

I don't see how, but it would look pretty scummy. It might be some kind of unclean hands if they were asking for an injunction but if they were just seeking liquidated damages pursuant to a contract, it might work. Of course, you'd have to be willing to look like complete shit. And the liquidated damages clause could be seen as an unenforceable penalty clause (liquidated damages is supposed to agree on a penalty beforehand because it would be difficult to calculate).

Yeah, it seems that this story is resonating with a lot of people. Hat's off to Eevee, she's been ultra instinct this year. Curious to see if any other conventions are going to find their balls and follow suit.
Ironic that I'm pretty sure KCC has a smaller staff that YetiCon does, and well.. results speak for themselves.

I doubt conventions would invite these three together again. Like if they were slated guest before inviting vic maybe but knowingly inviting them would look suspect or "inciting" drama. I'm enjoying vic getting con invites while marchi is begging for cons and moron having to realize bargain bin work out videos. They should do The remote work regime.

I just don’t understand what the fuck all of these cons and companies have issues with. The VA’s don’t have to work in the same booth, building or same fucking state when recording. Just record and send it in.
For the cons, just have to have them on separate ends of the con, or do what Kamehacon did. Completely separate area.

You know what the most ironic part is? Sean studied music in University, yet he's worst singer out of all of them. In fact, IIRC, there was even an apology for Sean singing due to the overtune & singing impotency of being out of tune.
You clearly haven't seen Brits, because if Vic stood in the middle of a crowd of real Brits you'd be mocking him for not dressing gay enough to blend in. This venue is only 20 minutes away from Camden Town, the gay capital of the world, so if Vic IS homophobic then this is the best time for KickVic to get some evidence by getting their cameras out and documenting his attitude towards the gays.
It pisses me off that Vic's coming to my country and it's cheaper for people to fly here from abroad than for me to get a train to a city about 200 miles away. He'll still get a shit ton of visitors, but they'll mostly be local, Manchester (a lot of nightlife, basically the centre of culture) or Birmingham (more canals than Venice, basically the centre of the UK if you don't want to pay the London Tax) would be cheaper for Brits to get to because their train ticket doesn't have "London" printed on it.
@CWCissey can verify literally everything I said in this post is true.
These cons should have been doing their homework all along because due dilligence would dictate you don't want to cause yourself a problem. Bringing cancel culture into your event with SJWs is going to lose you money through either lost sales, lost attendance, or the problems SJWs cause with their presence. It's bad enough that weeb culture attracts their type naturally, and has ruined a lot of it as a result, but inviting their martyrs isn't a path to anything but problems.
