The stereotype used to be "yaoi obsessed fangirl draws her favorite TF2 characters together." It's almost like these people have no experience online!

Hell, it's not limited to online. Anyone else remember all of the Gundam Wing yaoi?

[EDIT] PS Gundam Wing is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary. This shit has been going on for a long, long time.

If you have hordes of male autistic neckbeards who fap to cartoon characters and think they are their girlfriends on the one side and special snowflakes with their countless insane genders/sexualities/triggers/mental illnesses/pronouns on the other- I think it's better not to get involved in the fandom too much. Seriously it will just ruin the show for you.

I sadly think you have to adapt to one or the other if you're in any sort of fandom these days. Not embrace them, but deal with them.

I'd imagine not much in actuality, considering most of these people probably voraciously consume cartoon porn and react this way because they feel guilty.

They really do, though it's mostly not stuff aimed directly at children. A lot of it is child friendly stuff like say, oh, the Marvel movie universe, for example.

People are gonna draw porn of stuff, whether you like it or not. Nobody can do anything about it and I wouldn't have it any other way.

NO fuck you! This show doesn't belong to certain tumblr special snowflake communties. Yes I know bronies can be gross - BUT that doesn't give you the right to claim a fucking cartoon show for yourself.
These special snowflakes claim they want to stop bronies from claiming Steven Universe as their own, but really it's just because they want to claim it as theirs and theirs alone. The truth is that Steven Universe doesn't "belong" to either of them. It's a children's cartoon, so it's primary audience is children. It really is a great cartoon, good enough that it can appeal to adults too, but adults shouldn't get mad when it doesn't pander to them specifically. The special snowflakes and social justice warriors have already made the fandom an incredibly hostile place, and they scare people away from a genuinely good show with their behavior. The sad thing is that a lot of these people are even worse than bronies.

EDIT: Okay, so apparently the fandom has their collective panties in a bunch over this, to the point where they're harassing staff members of the show online, trying to get them to condemn the new fans. Ian Jones-Quartey, the co-creator of the show, responded with this:

Even the crew of the show is telling them to calm down and not be dicks to people. For people who hate bronies so much, the Steven Universe fandom sure has a lot in common with them.

If I could, I'd love to see the tumblr userbase on 4chan, even just for a week or so. Just to see how they handle that kind of community. Hell, I'd argue 4chan is a little nicer in some areas, being anon really limits attempts at being a doxing shit flinger
OT, but they routinely come on /cgl/ to scream about how mean everyone is for making fun of people who can't dress themselves. Then they call them cyberbullies, etc. It's remarkably similar to what happens when cows find out about threads here.

I don't understand why there are so many people upset about the idea of porn, when for a lot of fandoms, tumblr is the biggest creator and distributor of rule 34 content.

I'd be extremely shocked if there wasn't any porn. I would also be surprised if the only porn there is right now is just tame, non-kinky stuff. I mean, c'mon, Tumblr, this is the internet! There's porn everywhere you morons.

I'm amazed this got to the point where they were harassing the staff of the show they supposedly love. What lovely people.
The worst part is, this isn't the first time. A while ago, Cartoon Network announced that Steven Universe would be doing a crossover with another Cartoon Network show, Uncle Grandpa. Now, Uncle Grandpa is not a bad show, but it's aimed towards a younger audience than Steven Universe is, so a lot of Steven Universe fans hate it for not pandering to them. When the crossover was announced, these same people absolutely lost their shit. They went into full Tumblr panic mode: you know, death threats and fake panic attacks, stuff like that. Not only did they harass the Steven Universe staff (even though the crossover was their idea), they harassed and threatened tons of Uncle Grandpa fans and anyone else who liked the idea of the crossover. It got to the point where the writers actually had to tell them to stop.
Oh, and I just remembered, there was another time when these same people harassed a writer for the show over a minor continuity error. It got so bad that he had to leave Tumblr for good. Yep, lovely people.

From what I've read, Steven Universe isn't even popular among its actual target audience, and the Uncle Grandpa crossover is an attempt to fix that.

I don't think I've ever actually seen Tumblr as mad as they are right now. Not during Ferguson, not when women being raped/murdered are in the news, no...news of a fandom site that hasn't even launched is what inspires them. I'd hazard to say that all the autism of the MLP fandom themselves might have been outdone here.

Burn Tumblr to the fucking ground.

I came across this on my dash:

By what measure is a tiddy, exactly?

Why do do you lose your shit about fucking cartoon crossover??????
Panic attacts? Really???! Special snowflakes are fucking dense.

Nooo creators of the show! Don't do a crossover! Steven uinverse belongs to US the [insert crazy snowflake communities].

Next they will claim the crossover is "triggering" or "[insert phobia]". I mean it's really funny to watch their daily meltdowns on tumblr BUT leave the SU staff out of this.

By the way I don't think they are worse than bronies. Both are fucking icky but in different ways.

By the way I think uncle grandpa is funny. It has the sort of weird humor I like. I watched it today because I wanted to know why people hate it. I still don't know why.

By the way do you know what happens when tumblr special snowflakes enter the real world?
this

Special snowflake got "violently" misgendered at work and sued for $518,000.

Jesus.

And yeah, I haven't watched a whole lot of Uncle Grandpa, but I did see the pilot shorts and I just about lost my shit. I don't understand all the hate it gets.

Then again I was also one of the few people that liked Problem Solverz so take that as you will.

I hardly see this person as a special snowflake. Androgynous and intersex people exist and the pronoun "they" is a reasonable request to include them in our vernacular. As for nounself and other neopronouns, fuck 'em.

As for "violently," there is no information one way or the other whether her employers had any malicious intent. If they did, the lawsuit has merit. On the other hand, most people read people as male or female and weigh the physical evidence to make one determination or the other. If they look more female-typical they shouldn't take it personally if people call them "Miss" or say she looks like a female celebrity and especially shouldn't pursue lawsuits over such innocuous ignorance.

The people behind Horse News already launched a SU site. So probably too late.

Keep in mind these people who are apparently so "sad" at what FiM became couldn't even name the person who made it, much less any of the other people behind it.
