Then I don't think anything has been established. Either it was monkeyed with or it is still in the box. Either it is sent to the FBI or it's sitting on a desk. Why believe Vincent now? He's just covering his own ass. I can't see how any of this bungling could possibly be helping the FBI. Even if something was on the laptop, the chain of custody is so messed up, I doubt it would ever be allowed as evidence in court. This kind of "investigating" isn't going to get Onision arrested. It's only good for youtube drama. Hopefully the FBI have it now. Hearing that it went to the Bar Harbor Sheriff and not to the FBI directly doesn't sound very promising to me though. Just another blip in the chain of custody. Why would she have to ship it? Wouldn't the FBI send a secure courier out to pick it up if they thought it was important? I bet it's sitting on a shelf in the Sheriff's office right now. Whether or not the package was opened by them is anyone's guess.

This has already been explained multiple times by a few different posters. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is conducting an investigation with FBI cooperation. You must have missed the livestream with the sheriff. In real life, different branches of law enforcement cooperate (even through jurisdiction changes.) There's no loose cannon cop who don't play by the rules all pissed off because the slick FBI agent stole his case and nailed his wife.

Thanks for the info, Shack. Everyone keeps talking about an FBI investigation. I wasn't aware that this is a Sheriff's investigation, not an FBI investigation. They must not have evidence of anything that crosses state lines yet. But I guess they're in contact if anything comes up.

I'm not going to continue to post because I understand what is going on now. Fleas, read what Shack wrote. He made it clear. Sheriff investigation with FBI co-operation. That isn't an FBI investigation. It's the FBI co-operating with the Sheriff's investigation. If the Sheriff comes up with something that falls under federal, they will pass it to the FBI and then the FBI will open an investigation of their own.

It is a Sheriff’s investigation and an FBI investigation. Hansen confirms that there are active investigations on multiple levels of law enforcement at the end of his past few streams.

The way I see it, either Hansen gets Greg in serious trouble, which will be funny, or nothing happens and Hansen fades back into obscurity and bankruptcy. Either way the thirst comments on the livestreams were pretty entertaining and seeing Greg in court was hilarious, so it's all good.
