Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

I call bullshit, Palin didn't come off as unhinged people didn't know who the fuck she was. People-based their opinion on her on skits from SNL. Test it, ask anyone you know who said "I could see Russia from my house" I fucking guarantee you that they say Palin I guarantee you they don't realize it came from an SNL skit. Most of her crazy quotes were akin to hokey mom quotes

Palin was killed because the media painted her as a dumb bimbo who only got into politics because she could be controlled by republicans. She didn't have the media presence and was like every republican back then in that she never fought back. That being said considering what became of Mcain I'm actually thankful she scared you off.
No, I knew Palin was unhinged because I actually researched her at the time, and thought "wow, McCain is bad, but Palin is just stupid"

If you go into a wolfs den expecting puppies I can't have sympathy for you. She was like ever pre trump republican toothless and afraid to fight back.
To be just a bit fair, she was from freakin' Alaska so if anybody was going to be unprepared for the media onslaught it would be a politician from there.

The only person less prepared for media harshness is a democratic minority candidate.

Palin-post 2008 was much calmer and level-headed during appearances. I think 2007/2008 Palin didn't get how she came off to people who were not from Alaska who hadn't been voting for her for years.
When Bobby "Mad Dog" McGills hops up on stage with his six-guns blazing and says he's going to hunt down and fill all the felons in his district full of lead, if he's getting re-elected for the 5th time everyone knows that's just his schtick and goes along with it - he's been in office for a decade and hasn't shot a single person. But if he's doing thatas an untested challenger that's likely to give people some pause and make them wonder if he's crazy and actually intends to go around shooting people.
Palin had roughly the same sorts of problem going from Alaska politics to federal.
(Insert Howard Dean yell.mp3 here)

I also coached my language - regardless of how she actually was, she gave the impression of being completely unready. Not as unhinged as the media tried to make her, but just fully out of her element and not ready for Federal government, let alone being just a songbird and a dance away from the top chair.

(My big Palin moment was "all of them" actually.)

Yeah, I jumped the gun there and assumed too much on your opinion. I'm used to people quoting SNL when they talk about Palin and can understand seeing her as unprepared.

As for the language it wasn't directed at you, I sware like a warehouse worker but tend to remove them in most of my post just didn't think of doing i this time.

One of the most frustrating things about the TDS afflicted is their inability to concede that sometimes Trump happens to be right.

You would think that by this point, everyone would understand the wisdom of decoupling from China. Where would American companies be now if they hadn't already started the process of diversifying manufacturing away from China to other Asian countries, or even better, back to the United States because of tariffs?

How can people still call this trade war 'stupid'? He was absolutely spot on regarding decoupling.

You're cool bro. I meant I was specifically saying "coming off as" to avoid discussions on if that was reality or not. At minimum, she had a perception problem. The media WAS out to get her, but she wasn't doing herself any favors in not feeding them ammunition until it was too late. And I get that you sometimes need to vent about an issue even if the person you're venting at didn't really make those points.

Too bad twitter wasn't too big of a thing back then, it'd be fun to see how many HERTURNers would have uncomfortable posts about Palin.

I don't think it helped Palin that the media went after her family as well, but she didn't call them out for it like she should've. She didn't come off as a dumb lady at all, and she was wiling to make self-depreciating jokes, but she just was not prepared for anything, and she couldn't stand out, especially with McCain at the helm.

It's grossly hypocritical how much the left calls for strong, female leaders, but then they go after and beat down women politicians just because they have the "R" next to their name. Still, history I think will look back on Palin with pity alongside with fascination since her being a wild card was what split the Republican party, and the Tea Party came to be in the wake of Obama's inauguration.

Why do people quote SNL when it comes to politics? Last I check, it was just a sketch comedy that launched a lot of careers.
Because humanity was a mistake, If I was to hazard a guess it's because they learned they could get their opinions from comedians like Colbert or John stewart. It happens a fucking lot with me though and I have literally, not figuratively, literally had people bring up a SNL video for their counter-argument.

Oh, so now that the economy is out of the gutter and Trump's reversed every single one of your economic policies, suddenly it's no longer, "What magic wand does he have?" and "Those jobs aren't coming back." Now it's all your doing so line up and praise me this economy is all mine! Give it a rest, Barry.

That family is a train wreck and she wouldn't have been able to deal with it.

It's just that good ol Obama Economy kicking in 4 years late! Honest! And it's happening EXACTLY how he said it would!

I mean, it's not like he said that unemployment would never be single-digit again, and we'd never see an increase in manufacturing jobs ever again (which was a good thing, only racists want those jobs).

"11 years ago, I went to my knees and deep throated the banks showing I was truly and completely owned by them. Tongued and cupped the balls, massaged the prostate, swallowed, thanked them for the lovely tea party after - the works. No one even went to trial, let alone did time, for a financial disaster so bad it resonated globally. I extracted some token fines that don't come close to the amount these parasites were able bilk the not just the American people but pretty much the entire world for, as well as some toothless laws with glaring intentional loopholes my cronies are already at work enlarging. The only thing these laws accomplished was making it harder for small local banks to do business, letting the big banks suck up them and their business, and then kill their branches.
In the wake of this I made sure to funnel those token fines into organizations that were barely concealed DNC mouth-pieces, giving essentially tax payer -funded jobs to DNC supporters and their families in pretty fucking clear quid-pro-quo. I then shifted from transparency and hope and change to race baiting and using executive privilege to shield my staff from legitimate congressional inquiries; the staff that didn't leave in my 2nd term and go right back to working for those banks I declined to do anything about other than cut them a huge check for fucking up."

According the 2020 Dem field, this economy isn't working for regular people. And they're also campaigning on how the healthcare system is broken.

I guess your party thinks you did a shit job too, huh Barry?
