I don’t think Carl is asking anyone to do it, its probably just some autistic fan but I’m pretty amused that someone would try to unironically shill for an eceleb (let alone, Carl) on 4chins.

To be fair to a general that is completely cancered up with mentally ill spammers, tripfags, GCHQposters and combinations of the above it is on every day (or at least every evening), UK time as far as I can see. It just tends to die in the middle of the night. It sometimes seems to accidentally get bumped through the night by NEETs, students and non-Brits who like Norf FC memes and haven't realised they're posting in a dead thread but usually it doesn't seem to make it through. And then it usually starts up with a breakfast edition in the morning and at least one American flag commenting approvingly on a picture of an English breakfast.

Speaking of Norf FC, that was a great meme until Sargon stole it for a video.

To be fair to Sargon, he does seem to at least get the meme and does a reasonably good job of relaying the /pol/ take on the recent UK election. Although being Sargon, he tries to make it his own and shits it up a little, getting an obligatory spiteful dig in at Jess Phillips and lazily repeating fake news memes about Jeremy Corbyn. (The norfs didn't turn on Corbyn because he loves Castro or because he called Hamas freedom fighters, it's because he was pro mass-immigration and refused to take a pro-Brexit stance after the 2016 referendum.) While it's true that Corbyn was unelectable and his heart clearly wasn't in it any more by the time of his second general election as Labour Party leader, as others have said it is indeed oblivious and disreputable that Carl is gleefully putting the boot in to a guy who, like Carl, took a savaging from the media (although Corbyn took it for years, while Carl only took it for about a month) and is perceived to have done more harm than good for the Party he campaigned for. However, Don Sargone does not forgive sleights and no doubt remembers:

I dunno man, it seems to me that people shill for e-celebs all the time on /pol/, a certain catboy appreciator being the biggest example at this time. I think there are some unironic Sargon fans that pop up from time to time on /pol/, possibly even Don Sargone shilling himself, but there are definitely also people LARPing as liberalists for (You)s occasionally. Also, brit/pol/ is lazy enough to actually use obvious shill threads and isn't as disciplined as the American NEETs at /ptg/ who do a pretty good job of abandoning them and sticking to pro-orange man OPs.

Labour is not in nearly as bad of a state as UKIP is. Labour is a fractured party for sure, but they just need to start working on resolving their internal conflicts and reorganizing as a party, figuring out what their actual brand and image is going to be. They also need to suck it up once and for all and move on from battling Brexit.

UKIP on the other hand has an even bigger battle to face. If UKIP is ever to be restored to the position it once held, it's going to take years if not decades of work to repair itself.

Carl's analysis comes across as his way of trying to make himself feel better over the fallout from his election campaign. He doesn't want to be seen as the guy who single-handily ruined a political party, so now he's trying to argue that Labour is in just as bad a state as UKIP is.

Maybe it’s just me, but Jontron isn’t a shining beacon of political truths, he’s just got some basic opinions- but it felt really bad to hear him say that. You aren't wrong. He has a massive ego and aura of smugness to him. He also loves to talk down to people and gloat about himself when they dare criticize him. Look at his drama with Jim, Ethan Ralph or that one incident with tl;dr.

There’s actually a larger story to that. Basically, around the beginning of 2017, JonTron went on a livestream with Sargon and came out in support of anti-SJWism. His Twitter then became awash with anti-SJW memes and retweets which eventually led to Destiny challenging him to a debate. Jon agreed, but the debate turned out to be an utter disaster with Jon making some incredibly poorly phrased comments about race which led to widespread accusations he was a racist.

This was one of Sargon’s first leadership crises and it roughly coincided with Milo’s “depends on the child” comments coming back to bite him. These two things began to fracture the Skeptic community which was still riding high off Trump’s election, with people like Spino showing signs of insubordination over JonTron’s comments.

Sargon responded with his now-infamous circle the wagons tactic which worked reasonably well at the time and he also managed to achieve a rare victory against Destiny in a rematch debate (although that was only because he’d already debated Destiny and lost and therefore knew what to expect). Essentially, him saying JonTron was an idiot was his stock tactic for deflecting accusations that Jon was a racist.

It’s quite interesting looking back at that incident because it was the first glimpse of Sargon trying to mange a controversy. You’ll note he’s used the above tactics repeatedly whenever something’s gone wrong to increasingly diminishing returns. It only worked the first time because the Skeptic community was still popular back then.

Jon admitted he was ill-prepared for the debate and has wisely steered clear of political commentary since that incident. Woke Media threw a fit for a few months and Jon’s voice role was removed from Yooka-Laylee, but otherwise his popularity didn’t suffer and his voice was kept intact for A Hat in Time (which ended up being far more warmly received than Yooka-Laylee). You’ll still get an “Ugh, JonTron” response if you mention his name in the wrong circles, but mostly people have forgotten about it.
