You'd probably know better than me but a cursory reading of the Nyberg thread suggests the events Jake is building off when he says the logs were edited is that the "chain of custody" so to speak for the logs was broken some time in 2016, with the metadata showing they were copied directly from the server being lost along with the original archives. The scandals surrounding the logs also appeared to have occurred in stages as people read through them. Jake I think is referring to the gap in time between people obtaining the logs and discovering Nyberg's pedophilic statements and ERP when he claims the logs were originally published without evidence of pedophilia and then edited to contain it.

I do wonder whether he's intentionally lying, has imagined and believes this scenario entirely of his own will, or Nyberg fed him this as an explanation after the dust had settled.
