Also no one cares. Being a comedy writer on a ghost town of a website won't do anything for your career. The front page audience used to be idiot kids so it was fairly easy to write for them. The "humour" hasn't changed but the audience has.

The writing isn't engaging or clever or anything. At least McSweeney's was literate and interesting and produced high quality content for years before they all got trump derangement syndrome. SA has always had garbage.

No one is obligated to go on a date with you and no one is obligated to have a relationship with you either.

What you're getting at is a very real possibility. There's no way in hell that Asterios Kokkinos's constant stream of dogshit could have reached the front page if anyone had so much as glanced at one of his submissions before hitting the post button.

Even after Asterios started getting called out on how terrible his zero-effort less-than-listicles were, it took forever for the site to dispose of him. He got to run around the forums shilling some book and retaliating against anyone who made fun of him by digging through their post histories for proof that all of his detractors were evil internet trolls.

e: He was literally publishing articles like this and using the defense that ACTUALLY i'm writing for a a younger, hipper, lower-attention audience that wants me to just take a big shit in their mouths and also no, it took me a whole lot of effort to do that one photoshop job eight times in a row.
