Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Sabat is only seen as the sealed evil in a can generic JRPG final boss to the public at best, while Rial is seen as the enemy/main villain of all anime based on what you see from the average Vicsperg not heavily invested in the Weeb Wars. Sabat isn't the ultimate pariah just yet; just his fat hoe meatshields and the orangutan who created the hashtag. Hell, people would rather make edgy Rial (and Soye) memes over Sabat memes.
How many forms does Chris have?

Anyone who gives their kids stupid names better suited for pets should be on everyone’s permanent shitlist.

The only celebs I can think of that get a pass on this are Robin Williams (Zelda) and Kate Bush (Bertie although I believe his actual name is Albert. He's cute and actually talented)

Soooo, anyone have thoughts about the brief? Was it worth the wait? Not worth it? Felt like you got grifted by Douchette?

Admittedly, I don't know much about law, but after a bit of skimming, it looks pretty good to me so far. Much tighter than Beard's later filings (no hate, though--the case has a LOT of bullshit to parse through), and got to the point pretty quickly.

Helps that "Zelda" is an actual name, although his reasoning for naming his daughter after Princess Zelda is sweet.

Funimation: "The additonal tweets weren't about Vic."

Interesting. Then why, pray tell, was your follow up tweet about "harassment" and "safe environments" shortly after tweeting that you fired Vic post your investigation?

Funimation: "😐......😠"
Also, why did Funimation not clarify or take down those tweets if thew were incorrect? There was no reason for them not to fix them.

I like it. Thoughtful writing creating clear explanations, very well laid out, the pacing was quite good and the connecting-of-all-the-dots generated a full view of the situations nuanced landscape.

I think it looks good, although, I could be all-the-fuck wrong considering I am a Ok Boomer with a major in mediocre when it comes to law...

Well I like the brief, and I apologize my previous sperg against Martinez, and Hsu. Well constructed given the word count limitation. Plenty of great citations, and the citations are clickable to take you straight to them.

Reads really well.

No wonder the only thing Dumbford had to bitch about were citations; and all Greg had to say was it's trash and he's too busy to read it.

In FUNimation's defense, it was really the best of bad options at that point. If you remove it, the KV spergs are going to turn on you immediately and it's at best a coin flip of is the ISWV side will forgive you. Leaving it in place means things don't get "worse" and they have been hoping that keeping their mouths shut minimizes the damage. So far, their gamble is paying off, but if the appeal succeeds, then all bets are off. But since it's all on record for the case now, there's no gain in removing it unless FUNimation cuts a deal to be first out the door.

I can see Funi doing a settlement to get out of this inferno and throwing Mornica into the fire (Including Jamie if she gets pulled back in) to burn.

"We wanted to update you on the Vic Mignogna situation."

Vic Mignogna. Situation.

Seems like they're talking about Vic? And the "situation" going on online. And here's what's funny: no one at that time had said he did anything wrong at Funimation. Yeah, Monica and co. liked and retweeted but nobody said anything. So with this Tweet, it actually makes it look like they fired him because of the online firestorm. Because of something he did wrong at a con.

Situation. See that word just gets me.

And playing like you're too dumb to know how Twitter works when you reply to your own Tweet in that thread is asinine. You don't condone harassment? In a Tweet where you say you fired him?

How dumb do these people think we are?

If I am Funimation looking at this brief and I weighing my options to settle or nah, fuck it...let's keep going?

Someone here said it best, "Measure twice, cut once". And that cut was clean as fuck.
