I think facecam is important for Phil,it makes his viewers feel more connected to him than if he was just a voice,it makes them feel like they know him more and since people donate to him out of pity and attention rather than because he is entretaining they woulndt feel so much pity or would be interested in his attention if they didnt feel some conection to him. Maybe im not explainig myself properly,I dont know.

This x 100. I hate it. It's annoying as shit the webcam blocks the games interface or just is an annoyance - I don't want to see your face - I wanna see the game and just hear your voice - but the camera most annoying thing to happen to gaming.

This is just me Tin Foil hatting on this and I could be extremely wrong - Phil does research - Whether whatever lie it was so he can have his story straight - which he isn't too good at EX: GamerJLee. And probably researching how to spin some sob story, so he can spin it on his fans and get more money out of them.

By the way, quick question, for the fund raiser or whatever in the hell its called for taxes. Isn't that against Twitch TOS?

That said, I find it a little difficult to believe that his whole "I could go to jail" bit doesn't fall afoul of Twitch's feigning distress clause, but I doubt they'll do anything about it.

It's some bullshit loophole legalese Twitch uses to get around calling them money something to do with the exchange of money into a good or service but a better way to think of them is like how they skirt the gambling laws in Japan with pachinko machines where you pay to buy balls and then you trade them back to the shop for a token that's traded outside of the parlour for money.

This video was from 2005-6. Texas Showdown is an FGC tournament that began in 2000, and this is from Texas Showdown 6. You can clearly see Phil wildly rocking side to side so bad that he runs in to the fucking camera and steps on the cameraman's toes. I never thought about it further than his explanation of having to stand on 1 leg and switch back and forth to take pressure off his back makes no fucking sense. This shit pre-dates his bulging disk issues by years at least, it's something else entirely that he later retconned into being something he does for his back when people were calling him out for being an autistic moron. Edit: This was from before he had the helicopter job.
