This thread always has me looking up the weirdest stuff. Apparently KFC is halal.

Damn it ninja'd

Frostys are halal. Can't find anything about Arby's though
I don't think they are in the US unless you go to Dearborn, MI or other cities with a huge muslim populace. That article mentions the UK. I would also think that KFCs in the US source their chicken from different suppliers than in the UK . There is always controversy surrounding how inhumane the KFC birds are treated in the US.

Honestly if people wanna eat what the fuck ever and be fat, fine good for them. It's when they start trying to justify it and say how they're totally changing their life style but just cheating this one day, is when it reaches fuck you levels for me. Or if they're extolling it like it's a virtuous life style.

We all have our vices and that's fine, just own that shit. Anything else is cowardice.
What is up with so many fat people eating like birds in public? Like, breh, your vice is visible to the naked eye!!! You can't fool anyone!!! I once knew this fat dude, and respected the fuck out of him, just cuz he was the only morbidly obese person I knew who publicly ate like a morbidly obese person. He ain't just eatin' a slice, it's a large plus crazy bread or gtfo

Clearly you’ve never been to a Golden Corral around 5 pm. For some reason the rules of society don’t apply there.

Just remember that her kids eat this slop every day too. Telling us she was just stopping in to get something for the kids doesn’t make this any better because they shouldn’t be eating this crap. They shouldn’t be eating fast food often, let alone daily. Hopefully DHS will talk to her about their horrific diet and sleep patterns. I don’t care if she wants to eat herself into immobility (and actually find it amusing). But seeing her neglect and do the worst for the kids who rely on her is less entertaining. She really is the definition of a narcissist.

Alright I was curious about this so I looked some mosques in my state and called a few, and described Amy. Here's what i learned:
  • Fast food is generally not considered hahal, although it's not too much of a big deal if it's an occasional meal. They said to stick to the non meat foods and order chicken if you really must. I asked about KFC specifically and the response was "Well that's just poor taste". They said it would be considered halal to eat the impossible/beyond meat.
  • On the fast food note, i called a few places out of curiosity and pretty much anything dairy is halal. Milkshakes, cheese pizza, ice cream, fries, all fine. Some places with names withheld told me not to order the burgers if I want halal.
  • Amy's obesity: they were kinda uncomfortable with this topic but told me that severe obesity like Amy's would be an afront to Allah, because it interferes with her ability to serve him. One person told me it's not so much the obesity, as it is that it shows a lack of will and devotion. Her not fasting for Ramadan is an insult being as big as she is. They had a real problem with that.
  • Her not praying is a big problem. They told me there's all kinds of loopholes one can use to not pray the 5x a day but her refusal to do any of them is bad. If she really really can't bend down to do the prayers, she could sit down, even on a couch or chair and pray internally. That's at the very minimal.
  • She's not raising the kids in a manner considered honorable. They're also supposed to at least be familiar with the concepts of Allah/the Qur'an by this point. They should be praying too. They said Essra doesn't need to wear a hijab but that it was kinda odd that Amy wears one but doesn't have her daughter wear one. I described her hijab the best i could and they confirmed that it's a children's style and you can decorate them, but the big flowers and bows and things are usually reserved for small children. They don't think she's wearing it properly as it shouldn't slip off her chin constantly nor should it be so tight she has to keep tugging it.
  • They said Amy and the kids should be meeting with a mullah/imam once a week to study the Tennants of Islam. They said the kids should most definitely be meeting with one, as it'll not only help with their religion but their reading and writing too.
  • I asked a lot the skunk. Eating it is considered haram but owning it is just kinda a grey area.
Tl;dr
Amy is certified Haram.
I think actually going to any kind of church anything would help those kids a lot because it’s basic socialization and helps them learn how to sit quietly and be patient in what’s usually a pretty forgiving environment. I’m leaning towards her not doing this stuff because
1) lazy, obviously and
2) like I’ve said before, they probably feel like the less people who see the kids regularly the better. neglectful parents tend to isolate their children so no one notices the lack of care

The information they gave you is a lil’ misleading.

Halal meat is meat from an animal that has been slaughtered in a certain way according to the Islamic tradition. (Basically, it just means it’s not stunned, had it’s throat slit and a prayer said over it but it’s done in accordance with the Quan)

I can’t speak for the US, but in the UK there is a governing body called the HMC (Halal monitoring committee) and they approve and confirm slaughter houses/butchers etc to sell halal meat that has been slaughtered in that particular way to fast food joints/shops/independent consumers etc

Many fast food outlets in the UK are HMC approved throughout all their outlets (subway,Nando’s) and only buy halal meat so they can sell to people of all faiths, but others such as MacDonalds do not sell halal meat so a Muslim would be advised to stick to things such as fillet o fish/salad/fries etc... not eat it occasionally.

There are also a lot of sweets/candy and desserts that are not considered halal because they contain gelatine which is a pig product, but in this day and age there are now tons of halal versions of these treats (halal Haribo, halal jelly beans etc...) but they are clearly labelled as the halal version.

As @krazy orange cat pointed out a couple pages back, it took a cursory search to see which KFCs in the US sell halal chicken on their menu and there are no KFCs that serve halal meat in the Oregon area. The only remotely Islamic thing Amy does is wear a hijab, and that’s just to hide her chins. She gives no fucks about the religion, she just claimed it to keep a man.

The younger kids are what, 3-5 ish? If they aren't taught basic societal rules, like, right goddamn now they are going to have a VERY rough time in life.

Interesting info, thanks.

I am in an area where there are lots of Muslim immigrants and I see the moms walk home from school with their kids everyday. None of the elementary school girls wear hijab or scarves, but by middle school they start wearing scarves, so I assumed it was puberty or a specific age.

By high school all seem to wear scarves. Pretty much they wear regular American clothing styles but also a scarf. Whether they merely have to cover their hair or wear the full thing like Amy, I don’t fully understand. The mothers all seem like Amy, wearing black to the ground, also with scarves (none of that flowery stuff she does) and the girls pretty universally pick headscarves.

I didn’t call a mosque or anything, just observation. I’d say a good number come from Afghanistan, if that means anything.

I‘ve never seen a Muslim as fat as Amy but I’ve not seen a non-Muslim that fat either.

Halal only refers to meat and pork products, and sometimes rennet and seafood. Haram is forbidden and makruh is 'not recommended'.

There are 4 schools of thought in Sunni Islam - Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali. Which one you follow usually depends on which geographical part of the world you are raised. Pork and pork products are haram through all schools of thought. Halal meat is strongly encouraged, but there are tons of Muslims who don't adhere to that rule. Some of these schools of thought also consider seafood (specifically shellfish) to be makruh as well.

I have a hard time believing a mosque sat down and spoke shit with you about a strange Muslim woman and her weight and parenting.

Also, Amy wearing a hijab has nothing to do with her daughter wearing one. The 2 things are not related. Hijab is largely cultural, and it depends on the household at what age they have their daughters cover. Mostly it DOES correlate with puberty. You very rarely see children under the age of 8 wearing hijab, but they may not be allowed to wear shorts, for example. It depends on the culture and the individual household. Families who force the hijab on their daughters will usually have them covering younger, and women who choose do wear it can do so at any age. Will she make her cover up later on in life? Probably, but she is still too young to wear it if she isn't in the mosque or praying/reading Quran.
