Asa Requa Maass is a burglar and deadbeat dad turned YouTuber notable for financially exploiting his teenaged daughter Abby's severe autism. Their content is mostly inane, advertiser friendly bullshit with paid product placements frontloading footage of an extremely shy and mentally handicapped girl, usually taking place at their half-a-million dollar Jacksonville estate paid for by this family business of pimping out their kid



Asa has been on YouTube for 5 years, vlogging everyday about his very autistic non-verbal child for clickbait cringe videos. This has earned him almost half a million subscribers and millions of views. He manages to make everything to their child's autism, even if the video has nothing to do with autism, such as a trip to Disney World, or prom and his wife. Priscilla Maass goes along with his every move, even though their kid clearly doesn't want to be in the videos and seems to be very uncomfortable in all of them. They have frequent meetups and Dunkin Donuts where their cult can come to gush and adore them.

Nothing is off-topic. This teenager (12 at the time of this video) does not deserve privacy. If there is a normal human being in there, she is screaming.

This is the intro to a video that is featured on their channel which currently featured on their channel with 1.8m views. While initially calm, she quickly becomes distressed while being filmed and not being able to move about freely because her dad needs her in place to record her. She physically tries to block the camera with her hand. All videos are similarly awkward.


There's also the time they took her to Jamaica, ignored warnings from the tour guides not to let her in the water, then had Abby shit all over the deck of their boat because she drank a ton of salt water.


Recently, it has come out that Asa has a third child out of wedlock, Teagan L. Schmidt (6-April-2004), with a woman named Stefanie M. Schmidt in Wisconsin, and has swept it under the rug for the past 11 years. He claims that was what the mother wanted and is in complete damage control and threatening to sue a forum and its members called "Tattle Tale".

The 2013 is the year his ex had to take him to court to get child support payments. Despite loudly and proudly declaring this is not an exploitation scheme and he just loves his daughter so much he needs to show her off to the world, his other daughter has to take him to court to get the support she needs.

Shockingly, 2013-DR-1208 isn't even just for Child Support payments. She had to sue him to even have him known as the father.

A year before his daughter Teagan was born, he was arrested and convicted of burglary. Asa spent 4 days in jail and was ordered to pay back what was stolen.

@Yellow Shirt Guy deleted this thread (somehow) after a bunch of backseat moderators said it wasn't interesting enough. I was wondering why I had heard of this guy sending C&D letters around to people hosting sites talking about him and acting like an entitled piece of shit in general, yet I had not received one. Imagine my shock that it was because users on the site soft-censored this on his behalf already.

It's frighteningly easy for kids with advanced special needs (like nonverbal tism) to be exploited by parents or organizations. Especially as the benefits scale with the level of care required. It's worse when the individual is being exploited by a parent as they have a built in emotional evasiveness (lack of oversight, and ability to cry about being bullied when scrutinized because wrangler life is haaaaard) whenever people try and scrutinize their actions

Asa clearly sees his kids as a tool that allows him to make money, as proven by his disinterest in having a relationship with a child he cannot find a way to make money off of. The people I've known with heavy autism tend to be very uncomfortable being recorded, so I wouldn't be surprised if his kids don't like it, but they are also trapped as their parents (their exploiters) are the only mechanism by which they probably receive attention or validation of any kind. Kids are going to be in for a rough life.

This bears repeating. He vlogged and drove on a suspended license with the autistic daughter in the car. So obviously no insurance real nice if he had gotten in an accident and hurt people might have had to sell new home dissolve the only daughter he claims trust fund. He calls the daughter he owes child support on the girl or that girl. Court records give him fathers rights and visitation but he chooses not to pursue. No $$$ there

Yeah, bad enough their father's only doing it for the welfare checks and YouTube money. But the kids are very likely to suffer this until one or both of those people they call "parents" gets found out and arrested or dies of old age. Because lord knows Asa won't give them up willingly.

Though it makes me wonder, does one have to be autistic to profit off of autism? I ask because it doesn't seem like the guy's too far from the tree himself in some respects.
