Funny you bring that up actually. DeOrio made a good point along those lines too which was Shiloh went on Hansens stream "coincidentally" the same month close to the same date her returning debut album dropped and of course Hansen brought it up when he introduced her onto the stream and when he ended the stream.

While this pissed off more than a few people on both sides, Mark never acknowledged Grade or his video. (Not to my knowledge, anyways) I'm sure Mark was aware of it, but he said what he needed to say and then promptly dropped the topic all together. It's one of the reasons I respect him, tbh.

I can see him doing the same with Onion and his attempt at using Mark's image to get views. The only way I can see Mark mentioning Grex is if he's hounded about it during a stream, and even then, I doubt he'll say anything more than "Just ignore him, guys. He's not worth the trouble."

I've got a question re: Home Associations.

We don't have them here - well, we kinda have loose collectives in certain situations but there's no real power there, it's all just bitching over bins and parking - and I keep seeing reference to powers the HOA (?) have.

I know it's going to be different everywhere, but what types of power might they have? Do they have the right to repossess over extreme violations, or is it purely about collecting restitution in civil courts? That itself is fraught with difficulty and expense and is of little practical use, but do HOA's have any legal standings beyond this?

You're kinda fucked here if a neighbourhood nuisance has bought a house. You can get rid of some renters by pressuring the landlord (who might not give a shit) but if they've bought then there's not much you can do even if they are in covenant or planning violation, in which case it's not a private matter anyway. So I don't really understand what HOAs in this context are, how they straddle public/private issues or if his neighbours have any real muscle to get rid of Grub and Bootface. I feel really sorry for them though - they obviously work collectively to make that a really nice place, then they get this fucknut screaming and bawling constantly as he destroys their little idyll.

Imo I think he is deliberately inflammatory towards much bigger and better YT creators than he could ever be, for a very specific reason: they tend to have very large and loyal fandoms, and if he pisses them off it drives a huge amount of traffic towards Gurgles. Good or bad attention - I don't think he cares - just as long as it is causing the spotlight to fall on him, and funnels attention in his direction. Engagement is engagement, after all.
