Also, not to get too deeply into the woo talk, but a common thread on witchblr is that familiars are almost never your IRL pets. Your fat ass adopted cat does not inherently know magic. Not to mention it puts them around potentially dangerous objects; familiars in lore help witches; witches often use herbs or tools or rocks that are very not safe for animals. Familiars were spirits, not real animals.

Just because you own a cat and you think you're a witch does not mean the cat is a familiar.
