Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

Sounds like a very short-sighted market choice. Someone could make a lot of money buying at the bottom and selling high when Trump takes office.

...... I, I didn't think about that we could get rich betting against the burn. I'm going to wait till he is the clear nominee if they rig it for bloomberg or buti then people will buy back the shares.

Apparently Reddit has finally gotten sick enough of /r/The_Donald to start purging and replacing the moderator teams. My favorite part is down near the end where they go, "Political discussion is an essential part of the community and we believe it's important that all views are respected!" after they put the entire sub-Reddit into quarantine, prevented any of its content from hitting the front pages and viscerally down-vote anything that's considered "wrong think" anywhere else on their entire website, and are now starting to forcibly replace the moderators.

This whole fucking post reads like some 1984 shit, I love it. "The shitposting rations have been increased from 20 posts to 15 posts."

"Trump has declared himself the nation's chief law enforcement official."

No, Washington Post dipshit who has never read a book that wasn't Harry Potter, the U.S. Constitution declared that in Article 2, Section 3.

"He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States."

They're literally putting together a list of applicants for modship vetted by the Reddit owners. The mod team can't even appoint their own moderators, reddit is doing it for them.

The kicker: applicants MUST be a moderator of an approved subreddit and have never gotten more than 500 karma in any ungood subreddit. So basically they're foisting /r/politics or some gay lefty sub's mods onto /r/the_donald.

They should have left the site long ago. Surely the weirdos realized that this was coming and made their own board.

They've given one concession, the entryist mod must have 500 karma in T_D. So they'll have to use their botnet to give someone 500 TD karma before foisting them in.

White House bringing in people to help off anti-Trumpers so Politico focuses on how one of them is in college still.

The White House has hired a college senior to be one of the top officials in its powerful Presidential Personnel Office, according to three administration officials familiar with the matter.

James Bacon, 23, is acting as one of the right-hand men to new PPO director John McEntee, according to the officials. Bacon, a senior at George Washington University pursuing a bachelor’s degree, comes from the Department of Transportation, where he briefly worked in the policy shop. Prior to that role, while still taking classes, he worked at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he was a White House liaison, according to two other officials. At HUD, he distinguished himself as Secretary Ben Carson’s confidential assistant, according to two other administration officials.
...
McEntee replaced Sean Doocey, who is heading to the State Department.

McEntee held a meeting in a conference room in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building last Thursday with White House liaisons of Cabinet departments where he asked officials to find Trump appointees who may be anti-Trump, according to an administration official familiar with the meeting. McEntee also told them that PPO was going to take a look at all appointees at some point and re-vet them to see if they’ve been disloyal in any way.

They seem poised to go through pretty much everyone to get rid of anyone the least bit disloyal after the fuckfest that occurred over the perfect phone call.

Why do they have such a raging hate boner for /r/The_Donald?

Are they that authoritarian that they can't handle the thought of these people congregating in an isolated subreddit?

TES is such a forced meme, like when they initially tried "Thanks, Trump" instead of "Thanks, Obama" or when the Skeptics tried to use the pejorative "regressive" against SJW's. Doesn't have the same bite.

Its current base are entitled lying cunts who make r/thathappened stories, teenagers in general, and old boomers who hang out with these younguns.

So yeah, the site culture is pretty much like a pedophile camp (which the site was for a good while). Or a "progressive" safehouse. Oh wait, same thing.

Didn't the popularity of The Donald result in it getting onto Reddit's front page repeatedly? They're probably despise the fact that the moderators for the subreddit are different than the cliques that run the other major sections of the site and are allowing a ton of wrongthink that pisses them off, even if it's just boomer tier humor and politics.

Think it came out years ago that most major subreddits have all the moderators being friends or friendly with each other so they'd even share bans between each other. It's probably fairly confusing/infuriating why they can't get control there the same as they do everywhere else.

It was exactly this. /r/the_donald around the 2016 election was not only way further right, but it had deep penetration over a large swath of Reddit and the internet. It was actually incredibly successful at promoting his election bid, and deconverted a lot of former redditards by offering full news coverage and commentary during reddit's campaign to censor all coverage of islamic terror attacks.

Obviously big tech leans left, and they were horrified to see the website become so deeply conservative almost overnight, so they banned something like half the mods, banned a ton of the best posters, and locked down the sub (as well as banning major right wing subs with less popularity) so that only the most milquetoast conservative talking points are allowed. Now it bends over backwards to be "antiracist" and "antifascist" and works more to alienate actual right-wingers than court them due to how cringe it is.
