I'll make this simple. Pretty much EVERY anime from the late 80s-2000 era has not only strong females, but they are Alpha strong OR BECOME strong by the end (classic Heroes Journey) but are often the lead or the Co-Lead.

It isn't obtuse etc. for these idiots to claim strong females are a recent thing. It's a flat out propaganda lie to 'intersectionalize' Anime.

Edit/Additional anime with Alpha/strong females from 3-4 DECADES AGO:

Cutie Honey - Lead character
Those who Hunt Elves - TWO of the leads.
Godannar - Lead and secondary
Ergo Proxy - Lead
Xenosaga - TWO leads
Witchblade - Lead
The other Masamune animes including Black Magic M66, Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police and Gundress all have either all/Alpha/strong female leads or Heroes Journey progressions for the female characters.
Dirty Pair - TWO leads
Excell Saga - Lead


And my personal favorite, which has probably one of the all time great 'zero to hero' character progressions for a female...Saikano. And any fan of old school Anime that hasn't yet seen it, you really should.

Kind of disappointed that there's been multiple lists of great women in anime and Lina Inverse from Slayers didn't come up.

That's just it, though. There are so many that it's practically impossible to compile a comprehensive list. Anime is an unsung haven for the strong female character archetype. The SJWs make it out to be a hentai/Urotsuki Douji fest and nothing more.

Dammit... Inverse was literally on my mind as I was typing in the Masamune entries, then I brainlocked. Good catch/addition for sure. She's up there with Kusanagi, Priss and the other classic uberchicks of the era.

Part of me just wants the appeals to be successful mainly because I wanna see what else the defendants are hiding. When this whole mess started, I was pretty neutral on the forefront, mainly because these were other VA's coming out the woodwork saying their piece about Vic instead of the usual rumor mill, so I figured this was actually serious this time.

But what ultimately got me to question them entirely was the introduction of Stan Dahlin. The moment a KEY WITNESS took to twitter and basically said "Uhh. What is she talking about?" in response to Monica's already shakey story, was the moment that ultimately sealed the deal. Everything else, including how she treated Stan after the fact, was just icing on the cake.

There's probably a treasure trove of drama and secrets hidden in that sess pool of a company, and ironically, a man's mission to clear his name could very well be the powder keg that blows it wide open.

Yes, we know Funimation is either being willfully ignorant of some of anime's well-beloved and strong (actually strong, "whamin strong") female characters and promoting an agenda or they are frauds regarding the products they distribute (or both).
Honestly, I'm disappointed that this company holds the rights of many beloved titles in the genre.

IIRC the American supposed 'uncut' version was still actually 'cut' and still missing like 20 min. Maybe thats just misremembering on my part though. I had the original import on VHS back in the mid 90s and boy do I wish I still had it today.

It's that some of the very people screeching their satchel asses off about the representation/WhamminZ bullshit are the very people that voiced the women in the listed animes and others. And convinently, they all happen to come down on the Kick Vic side.

I’m not sure where these yahoos got the idea that the LAYMAN is responsible for drafting the affidavit...
I’ll spell out exactly how the process went.

Ty contacted me. He said that after reviewing some messages it appeared as though I disputed some of the points in Faisal’s affidavit. He gave me a copy of the affidavit to read. He then asked me to go through the affidavit and correct all untrue parts.
After I did that he then asked if I would be willing to give my statement in the form of an affidavit. He said that he would use the responses I gave him to draft and affidavit for me.

He then provides me with a copy of the draft for my own affidavit and asked me to go through it carefully. I was to point out any statements in the draft that I felt were wrong or did not convey the meaning I intended. After I did this and approved of the affidavit we went over my options for getting it notarized.
It turned out to be a cluster fuck to get it notarized so we instead changed the affidavit to an unsworn declaration. He explained the difference between the two types of documents and what the penalties for perjury would be.
I agreed, signed the document, and returned it to him.
