Minsc is a man who is devoted to his friends and protecting the innocent. A man who would not hesitate to lay down his life for what is right and whose loyalty to his friends is absolute. He accepts people who are different to him and respects the good in people's hearts, whoever they may be.

CascadeBeta is consumed by bitterness, envy and entitlement. He is a sociopathic narcissist who betrays his allies without a second thought if it would gain him even the slightest advantage. He hates anyone who is or thinks different to him in any way and demands total obedience to his capricious whims at all times. His only motivation is to have power over others and to get revenge on all the people he is convinced have wronged him, which amounts to almost everyone. He wants to twist and remake the entire world to benefit himself with no regard for the consequences for others.

CascadeBeta is Jon Irenicus.

So often have I seen these irrational people argue with individuals who can be reasoned with, and the latter soon realize that they're speaking to a brick wall and cut their losses.

But it's so rare to see the former engage with the former again, like an unstoppable force colliding with an immovable object. You can see their argument devolve in real time; since you've two people who refuse to modify or abandon their positions (and forget about their positions actually developing) yelling at each other, the argument quickly shifts into namecalling and personal attacks rather than the topic at hand. And what makes it better than seeing it happen in person is that when these kinds of people argue in real life, it just turns into a yelling competition with people talking over each other and repeating themselves. Since forums make it so everyone gets their personal slice of time to make their points, you get some structure and control to this chaos which makes it all the more clear how idiotic and deluded these people are.

They may have believed that isolating themselves from the rest of Something Awful was for their own good, but it was to the benefit of those they did so to spite specifically. The goons who aren't as stupid as them get a better chance to breathe in their own forum, we get entertainment, and on the other side of things, their forum is quickly deteriorating into pure, anarchic mayhem. Basically what I'm saying is that it's very amusing.

Minsc has a poor statline for the med-late game when versatility gives way to specialisation. His HP pool doesn't ramp up due to 2e ranger gimping, his spells and charm animal ability get resisted all the time and even with a 2h sword his damage output fails to even come close to Korgan's.
