After the last three solid weeks of the Establishment losing their shit over Bernie how can you even say that with a straight face?
He may be a Democratic Socialist, but he's still a politician, and just like politicians of both parties, he becomes a millionaire off the people's money he gets rather than doing anything worth contributing to society.

So apparently theres Pete Buttigeg fanfiction. Umm.....

Is anyone else irritated that Bernie is really not a socialist? I'm not buying being a "Democratic Socialist" either. He comes off as the rare Progressive who wants people to think he is a communist.

He's either a shyster who has convinced a bunch of dumb commies he's one of them or a true believer who is a giant hypocrite, like all true believers in socialism.

Kinda but it would make sense if he wasn't. There's no way you can be 78 and still think socialism or communism works.

The only people who think he's a commie are boomers and right-wing propagandists. Actual communists lowkey despise him, but realize that he represents a substantial leftward shift in American politics that is highly beneficial in the long term. Demsocs pretty much just want a larger welfare state, so he has broad appeal amongst all sects of leftism, from ancoms to marxist-leninists. In the past he may have been a revolutionary, but playing politics on the national stage requires a more nuanced approach.

He's really pushing milquetoast leftist populist policies, not communism. Expanded government healthcare, legalized weed, etc. You're right to be annoyed that those things get painted as sOciAliSm. But if the last four years of political mudslinging has taught me anything, its that words don't mean jack shit anymore.

So are the chances for the Democratic Party winning in 2020 high or low? Because I’m seeing that it’s kinda low.

So what are the chances the more Radical Left will be upset when he isn't the second coming of Mao just like the Poltards hate Trump for not gassing the homos?

As I've stated before, Trumpism is something that lives and dies with Trump, but Bernie's ideas are more palatable than he is. Its important here to make a distinction between Bernie supporters and Trump supporters. Yes, both are rabid and highly defensive. But whereas many Trump supporters seem to like Trump for how much he shitposts and causes chaos, Bernie supporters like his actual policies more than his "style". Trump supporters like Trump as a person, whereas if I'm being completely honest, Bernie supporters just want him to make their lives better and then fuck off. Even in the worst case scenario, he's pushed once "radical" ideas like singlepayer healthcare into the national conversation.

I don't think anybody sees Bernie as a savior like they viewed Trump. Bernie getting elected is simply the first step, not the endgame like with "God Emperor" Donnie. The economic left is extremely pragmatic and cynical about the state of things, and despite fervently supporting Bernie they don't see him as a magical messiah. He's there to serve one purpose only: push America's economic policies leftward. If Bernie is elected most leftists will simply sigh in relief and unclench their spincters. Then the real work begins.

That's exactly why Bernie 2020 is the most likely outcome. I'm not even that leftist save for things like healthcare, but that's probably what's going to happen.

Senators aren't appointed, Joe. I'd say that Kamala Harris is already in there, but I don't remember if she passes the newest Purity Test or whatever so fuck it, I'll just stick to point A.
In just the past year, his gaffes have gone from once a week to every other day to every single day he is on the campaign trail.

At this rate, he will be in adult diapers by the first debate against Trump.

I think you misunderstand, what I mean by more radical Left are the Tumbler gender woketards who want to throw Whitey into camps like the Right's Poltards who want to gas the Homos and Jews.

I actually don't disagree with the economical Left on issues like Healthcare I just wish they had a solid idea on how to fund it.

At the moment those types of leftists are a bit disenfranchised at the moment. They hate Bernie because he's an angry old white guy who yells a lot, but none of their preferred candidates have fared well. Kamala's out, Warren's tanking and Pete's a literal psyop. There are too many candidates in the race splitting the anti-Bernie vote, and NONE of them have a path to the presidency. Woke liberals are in real danger of having the party hijacked by young socialists who care more about beheading billionaires, not about what color skin said billionaires have.

Sooner or later they'll fall in line to combat orange man, or risk destroying the entire party for petty vengeance against Bernie's percieved slight against Hillary in 2016. Yes they still care about that.
