James Arthur Watkins a/k/a "Jim Watkins" vs. Fredrick Robert Brennan (2019) - Libel tort in the Republic of the Philippines.

So, according to this, it must have been all those articles Fredrick put out saying Jim enabled mass shooters.

Because, as you can see here, the 'cyber' element of libel implies it was done electronically.

You can read the complaint at the beginning of the thread. It didn't actually have anything to do with accusing Jim of being involved with anything illegal or immoral.

His complaint was that Fred called him "senile" and "incompetent". Apparently, in the Philippines, you can actually be imprisoned for calling someone senile on Twitter.

Or in this case, that and pissing off someone willing to bribe the cops.

How can you look at these results and not realize that obviously Jim's bribes did reach the right people? Pretty sure that even in the Philippines, they don't ordinarily throw anyone who calls an old man senile into prison for 16 years.

Anyone with enough money can arrange for you to have problems if they want to.

I doubt Jim had to bribe anyone. You can call someone a faggot on Facebook and go to prison. Whatever you say about someone, whether or not it's true, if they get their feelings hurt they can have you arrested under the revised law. Stupid of course but when you live in another country you must abide by their laws. Fredrick did not do this and paid the price.

Here's one where two flippers were arrested for calling someone short (also means midget or short person). https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/11/06...r-name-calling-in-facebook-group-chat-in-cebu

Two women were arrested Tuesday after they allegedly name-called their complainant in a private chat group on Facebook in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

According to details of the case filed against the suspects, they were gossiping and calling the complainant negative names, such as "Unano" (short), in their private chat group.

Most of the cases involve foreigners blasting each other on Facebook and on YouTube in the Philippine Vlog community, which is full of social misfits, people rejected and shunned from their home countries societies

The Revised Penal Code defines libel as a “public and malicious imputation of a crime, or of a vice or defect, real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status, or circumstance”, which intends to “dishonor, discredit, or contempt of a natural or juridical person.”

You called it @Reverend:

Brennan, a US citizen who resides in Manila but is currently in California, told Washington Post that the move was an “absurd miscarriage of justice. [Watkins] doesn’t care about the free speech of poor brown people because they don’t make him any money.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/02/28/8chan-arrest-order-philippines/

So Fredrick is brown now? He looks pretty white to me. He needs to quit culturally appropriating and check his gimpy midget privilege.

If you recall part of his defense was that Jim said some horrible things to some of his (brown) employees and was being abusive and then cp asks Jim "Are you senile?" and then Jim said "yes." We can be assured this is true because his wife and the lady he pays to wipe his ass said they were there and heard it.

Busted for calling someone short in a private chat group?!?

If gifs weren't banned from this site I'd break out the Antonio Banderas clip from Assassians.

He went straight for JefBezos and WaPo. Good on you @copypaste hit those big boys quickly. What's next CNN? God I would shit skittles if TurboSpedRacer appeared on goddamn CNN.

These 2 parts of the article stuck out to me:
Court documents show the arrest warrant was issued on Monday, but Acain said he became aware of it only on Thursday. Acain said he has advised Brennan to return to Manila and post bail, which is around $200.

$200? That's it? you gotta be shitting me, his goddamn airfaire to the US cost him 10X that amount! Can't he pay that in absentia?

Brennan, who suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta, more commonly referred to as brittle bone disease, founded 8chan in October 2013 during a psychedelic mushroom trip while living in New York. The site rapidly grew in popularity during the GamerGate controversy the following year as users from the popular 4chan imageboard migrated to the site where racism, homophobia and violent misogyny went largely unregulated.

you gotta be fucking kidding me, ScootScoot dreamt up 8chat while trip the life fantastic on shrooms? Well today I learned....

Fred let hate consume and fuck up his life more then it already was.
He could have just disconnected from everything 8chan related and moved on. Maybe got a real software dev gig.
Nope. He had to fuck with a rich guy in a 3rd world shithole. On top of that he decided to go out of his way to stab everyone who used to support him in the back.

Ditching the warrant and running to the USA while criticizing the Flip legal system in MSM is no way to get that court case tossed. He likely has the attention of people higher up in the government now and they likely don't like being made to look the fool by Americans.
If he applies to live in another county people will find out and fuck with his application. "Creator of the evil nazi hate site 8chan who also has active warrants is trying to get a visa in your nation to escape the law."
So now that he is stuck in the USA he is in easy reach of all those nutty Qanon people who he has fucked with constantly.

How has this little "vendetta" worked out for ya Fred? Worth it?
8chkunwhatever is still online. Jim is still rich. And your on the run from the law unable to return home.

I feel like the wheels are still turning on this. I wouldn't bank on cp not returning to the Philippines. Sadly I can see him more likely to want to come back to fuck with Jim's naturalization than out of any loyalty or desire to be with his wife. A lot of people are enjoying seeing all this go down which I can understand because he definitely has done a lot of backstabbing and turned on people. That said, he still strikes me as a sort of tragic figure. A good example of "careful what you wish for." His need for attention stems from his daddy issues. And I'm not even making fun of that. The more I think about it the more fucked up it is.

Imagine your dad leaves you for a govt subsidized caretaker. That's got to hurt. It's this loneliness and desire for approval that led him to make 8chan and lead Gamergate and when he was no longer getting his dopamine fix from 8chan he started spending a couple years trying to fuck with his employer until he finally left the company. I'll never forget it was on Ralph Retort and/or Qanon anonymous podcast where he explains the two last straws that made him leave the company were Jim busting into his apartment "acting like he was his dad" and the fact that he would lay out of work for a week or more at a time without anyone even noticing or caring.

That said, he really is going to get himself hurt if he keeps on saying fuck the world. Maybe I'm being a bit tin foil here but trying to make waves and turn his case into a big international incident. Saying it is "an important precedent in Filipino law" ... just doesn't seem like the thing to do in a country rife with assassinations. At this point, if he comes back to the Philippines he has at least as much to worry about from powerful people who don't like nosy Americans trying to mess with their system than from the legal system or Jim.

tl;dr even if you hate the shit he's done, and trust me I do, nobody deserves being crushed to death in your sleep in a southeast asian prison or having the death squads pop you twice in the head as you're leaving church.

he would have to be arrested to be able to be bailed out. I do suppose they would refuse him bail due to his tendency to pull a Julian Assange and disappear

there's 100 pages of a bail bond guide for the Philippines - https://www.slideshare.net/harveabella/philippine-bailbond-guide - 100 pages so no chance to archive it all, but it will give you the crime and the amount of bail required. Page 19 has libel on it.

The amounts might seem not significant to you or me, but the majority of people get paid around 8,000 - 15,000 php a month so that will sting a little for the flippers especially since most have 10 kids to feed.

I wonder if Acain is expecting to be paid now his client has fled in terror

The ONLY PLACE. There's ONLY ONE country where Fredrick can live comfortable with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency. There's no way he can't go to Ukraine (he's an ethnic Ukrainian), Brazil, Vietnam. That's just not possible. The long arm of the Philippines will chase him everywhere he goes!

Fredrick was truly fucking awful to me but anti-speech laws are fucking bullshit and the Philippines, a land of Indonesian-Spanish-Japanese-American rape babies, most well known for being under the political control of a fucking cult that worships a chinky Jim Jones, can suck my ass.

Hi I’m the Philippines and I’m puckered up and ready

@copypaste is going to jail

The Philippines has issued an arrest warrant for Fredrick Brennan. Attached his petition of review I stole from his twitter.

I bet he stays in California.

Edit: His arrest warrant is on

This joke probably has been made 1488600000017761352 times, but...
Hope the jail cell and courtroom only has stairs.
The day of stairs finally arrived!

Will we get proof whether or not the ladyboys over at the Goldwater generate revenue? Is it even still a thing?

So he's just bullshitting a bunch of people here then? Trying to claim that this would "expand cyberlibel in the Philippines?" He really isn't that bad at the manipulation and deception game. As much as he wanted to be a liar, in another life I think he would have been a fairly decent sleazy criminal attorney type.

CPwheels brought this on himself. He knew how corrupt the Pinoy justice sytem was, even tried to fuck with piggy's citizenship and now he wants to be butthurt that it was weaponized against him. The whole enshrining himself in "journalitic freedom" is a slap in the fucking face, and im convinced the REAL reason hes so asshurt is because he didnt think to do this to Jim first.

The case against him is a farce, but hes still a garbage blob powered by spite. Like moviebob but without bones.

He's right about that, though. If something this dumb stands it will inevitably be used against ordinary people living in the Philippines. If Jim had just chopped him up and fed him to his pigs, it would have affected only the two of them and not had broader legal implications.

I mean if you can get sent to prison for calling someone a midget in a private chat already, I don't see how this could make anything worse. He was a lil mini influencer and a lot of what he said was parroted by people with even bigger audiences which seems like a bigger deal than shitposting in a private chat. Would be scared to be a Kiwi in the Philippines though considering that scary fucking law. If I recall you can even be charged for cyberlibel against a dead person even if what you said was true. Seems like the law is already fairly expansive.

Considering the pinoy government decided to just start openly murdering suspected drug users, I don't think legal precedence is as big a deal there as it might be in a real country.

Even absolute dictatorships like to shade their actions under the colour of law whenever they can get away with it. Lets them claim legitimacy to the wider world.
