The number of confirmed cases in the Netherlands went up to 6. Family members of both of yesterday's cases have been tested positive and have been put in isolation. A day care one the infected children went to has been closed down and will remain closed for two weeks. The woman who was one of yesterday's first two cases works at a hospital, but hasn't been in contact with any patients. They are tracking down the people she has been in contact with and they will monitor these people for the coming two weeks.

Dutch hospitals have reserved around 100 beds in special rooms for future cases.

Masks are for the benefits of others, they are to prevent your sickness from spreading around. Yes it can help to resist the virus a bit but it is a waste for Joe Prepper to stockpile thousands when it can be better used in hospitals to prevent the sickness by placing them on said sick patients.

If you guys don't have one I recommend getting yourself a oximeter. (the thing the Dr. Puts on your finger to see your pulse and oxygen levels.) They're cheap and will let you know if you're fucked or just got the sniffles. I have one along with a blood pressure cup they're great if you know how to read them.

It's not exactly gaslighting for 2 reasons.
1- SURGICAL masks (the hospital ones) really are meant to keep the doctor from infecting the patient, not the other way around. So they're worthless. It's only actual masks than work.
2-as I said before not only are masks useful only in a very limited set of circumstances (droplets don't get very far before evaporating or falling to the ground) but also most people will get infected anyway because they don't know how to take them off properly (don't touch the mask only the string), or get infected by doorhandles, their clothes, touching their face too much or just not cleaning their hands enough. For the average citizen they are WORTHLESS it's only preppers and people who have used them before that realize that shit. So while he didn't explain enough, he wasn't wrong in the sentiment.

Besides that I wanted to extend my warm thanks to all the Kiwis in this thread. I bought supplies a month ago so the logistics front has been pretty worry free. What I do worry about are my stocks.

Hungary will go into border defense mode. It will not be abandoned unless the virus lethality goes to the double digits and literally decimates us. Than the border maybe abandoned since the soldiers can not man it. I except lead hosing for migrants in that case as the HSDF and cops plus border guards go into panic and CoC breaks down, leaving them without precise orders. Half will flee, the other half go berserk on the migrants. Massive casaulities as they run out of ammo.
Border Hunters had to do a test (not lowered for female ones) part of which is to assemble a handgun in a minute blindfolded. They were trained specifically to handle migrants in combat, they are not smuggler hunters and import package inspectors.

ATM I think the 10lb bag of rice, big box of Brita filters, the 25lb bag of all purpose flour, the 10 gallon jug of canola or peanut oil, 5lbs of powdered milk (or maybe the shelf stable milk if they have it in bulk), 10lbs of beans, 10lbs of butter (you can freeze it), bulk jerky, though not sure how much, a big bag of potatos, onions, and a couple blocks of their big ass cheese.

Don't know if this is enough for 3 people to last 2 months if we need to self quarantine. Thoughts?

Washington State health official said it was a death among multiple new cases. IDK exactly what they mean by that, do they mean this was a unknown case or was this just a purely worded press release?

Peanut butter, vitamins, diarrhea medicine, caffeine pills if you're a daily coffee drinker. Tylenol and nsaids, benadryl for allergies and for those sleepless nights were the undead are banging on the door. Dog food oats and whey protein.

Also bleach for disinfecting your home also it can be used to disinfect drinking water. If I remember correctly 3 drops in 750ml then shaking it and letting it sit for a hour will kill a majority of water borne ailments. Boiling is still the best way though.
