Maggie Simpson is speechless... Playdate with Destiny, a new Simpsons short film before Disney & Pixar’s Onward. Exclusively in theaters!

So this is Pixar's death rattle.

So this is Pixar's death rattle.

I mean, the short before Ice Age 4 was pretty good, much better than the film that followed even.

one of the animators (his name's dane romley and i just found out they're still working for the show as of season 31) who worked on the garbage hd intro made a now 10 year old journal post on deviantart talking about the scenes they did - fox explicitly asked him to turn in the shittiest head turning animation possible because they wanted people to focus on the funny wacky evil baby joke they added to the new intro.

even shmorky hated it..

I hope someone got fired for that blunder.

Why did Groening go with yellow people in the Simpsons, but normal colors in Futurama?
Matt Greoning has told this a few times. In the case of The Simpsons, he thought it made the family and show stood out from anything else on the air, and it might get people to mess around with the tint controls of their TV sets to adjust the colors to what they thought seemed like an adequate fleshtone. A color stylist/cel painter at Klasky-Csupo, Georgie Peluce is often credited for giving the family the distinctive yellow color.

Not sure why Matt went with normal colors in Futurama though.

Disney promoting the Simpsons like they're one of their own characters like Mickey Rat and the Bimbo Princesses is just wrong.
I'm glad you said this!

So this is Pixar's death rattle.
Who the fuck asked for this. (Although the first short, "The Longest Daycare," was admittedly charming on its own.)

The Simpsons being marketed toward children is nothing new (one of my earliest Simpsons memories was playing with my Marge and Maggie Burger King dolls,) but there's something unsettlingly surreal about the fact that Disney now owns it.

Also, I spy a potential pedo in the Instagram post.

EDIT: apparently that pedo is from Iran. That explains a lot.

So a preview for the new episode has dropped and well...

Really couldn't do this when the Infinity War/Endgame hype train was still strong, couldn't you?
It wouldn't be modern Simpsons if they weren't always too late make a espiode on something that was topical few months ago the only animated show that manage to be on time to be topical so far is South Park.
