I don't know about that. At least Bob went into military training which more or less prolonged his life. Chris can't even do one pull up (this is coming straight from the cow). The way Chris looks at things with these healing rocks, coupled with consuming massive amounts of sugar, he could have a bypass earlier then expected.

It's SSDI, and he gets at least $1300/month. That's more than enough for him to live in a tiny apartment in BFE or a college town, which is what Charlottesville and the surrounding areas are. He'll complain about "stress" because he can spend less freely on toys, but it's more than enough for him to survive.

Hi, I don't really read the Chris-chan thread because they make me sad and depressed.
The best thing for him is for his mother (or somebody, a judge!?) to have him committed to some sort of mental institution or at least a halfway house.
Because having him live on his own is going to be a disaster. He'll be homeless like Spoony on fast-forward.

I keep seeing people say this, but I'm legit curious, is there any actual US programs to facilitate this? I'd more or less think they'd leave his crazy ass on the side of the road like they do every other street bum.
It just reminds me of that scene in Futurama, "Your honor, the mental hospitals are all full ever since you made being homeless a mental illness"

Well, like her son, Barbara is very irrisponsible. It's clear that Bob kept the house afloat. Even though she has experience as a secretary, she should have due diligence over her property, but like Chris, I don't think she cares.

Why would Barb care? It's not like she has anything to do like go on a tour of Europe. Any extra cash she has would just go to the Goodwill. She's just paying rent and marking time until she doesn't exist anymore. I don't think she gives a fuck what happens to Chris after that. And apparently Chris doesn't care either. But I do wonder if Chris will excavate Patti prior to the Sheriff removing him on behest of the Bank.

Sadly weird, but most people her age would travel outside the state or outside the country, after they saved enough for retirement. They just want to view the rest of the world in their twilight years. Bob could have been keen to take Barb somewhere else (even before Chris was born), since he was world conscious. I'm guessing Barb was too stubborn or too paranoid to do so. Now she's wasting away in a horded up, parasite infested house with a son that doesn't do jack shit and picked up her hording habit.

When was the last time Barb was out of the State of Virginny? Did she take Chris to Cali to visit his bald hipster brother or was it Bob or both? I wasn't born in this country but I have relatives back home that haven't traveled more than 60km away from their homes in decades. It's kind of horrifying to think about. Living and dying in 10 square miles. Kind of like a big prison.

Yep. The only time Barb left Ruckersville was to go to Cole's birthday in California. After that, all ties were cut and she remained in Ruckersville ever since.
