Do you think if you tried as hard as you could for the rest of your life you could catch covid-19?
Not downplaying the severity of this version of the mutated Chinese flue. Not downplaying the tragedy of friends and family who have lost good friends because of the coronavirus or removing my sympathy for their suffering or making it seem like this bug is fun to catch or easy to get over or painless to live through either way.
Its a bad bug. You don't want it. I do not want it. Its not pretty it hits hard and fast so fuck why would anyone want it.
But statistically speaking let us think about how likely it would actually be to catch. Do you think you could catch it if you tried as hard as you could for the rest of your life? I mean there are almost 7 billion on the planet and less then 100,000 worldwide have it and those that do are heavily quarantined. Also statistically speaking like 100x the amount of people who have died of this worldwide die from the common flu or old age + the common cold or common infections every year in fact 100x may be a low multiplied estimate it may be 200x or 300x or 1000x or 10,000 times.
Do you think if you broke into every hospital near or in a quarantine zone for the rest of your life and offered patients to pay off their medical bills if they let you put your tongue in their mouth and actually were able to pay it off and at the least got their attention and put your hand on their shoulder and licked your fingers all day do you think you would contract it? Do you think you would be able to get close enough to someone who has it? Do you think if you went and worked in the busiest Asian airport in security where you pat people down and wore no face mask and licked your hands all day that you would catch it? If you tried as hard as you could?
I don't mean next years mutation or the common Chinese flu or any other sickness I mean SARS or covid-19 or one of these very popular Chinese mutated flues already in existence that the world is calling and associating with names like pandemic or epidemic or what not a "global killer that can barely be contained."
Yet statistically speaking out of 7 billion people less then 100,000 have it and that is 1 out 70,000 if my math is right. Not nothing I mean definitely a large amount with a 2% death rate that means of all the people who have it being 1 out of 70,000 and 2% of that is 1 out of 3.5 million chance of you dying from it(is my math right?) I imagine no one wants to wake up and have a 1 in 3.5 million chance or dying from some horrible mutated Chinese flu.
Yet I ask again, if you spent the rest of your life trying as hard as you can to catch this corona virus do you think you could? Do you think if you were allowed to lick the floors every night of the busiest Chinese airport in the world you would catch Covid-19 in your lifetime? I am just trying to get a perspective on this.
RIP to those who have suffered and are no longer with.
