Absolutely, anyone whose read the story would have compared the original to the film even if they're not a big fan of lovecraft. She wouldn't even have had to go into depth either a simple I enjoyed the film more than the book or vice versa. I'm wondering if she even knew if was a lovecraft story
This is off topic, but while he was raised racist and was racist for a large part of his life, it was mostly related to his upbringing, and he began slowly reforming his views, and was a completely changed man by the time he died. He might not have been perfect, but I feel like too many people just see the name of his cat and make their opinion off of that.

Definitely late but I'm just catching up on the thread. While I read this, my normally chill cat is making howling noises and running into the wall repeatedly.it's a fucking cat. cats do weird shit for no reason all the time. i think it's called the midnight crazies, or evening crazies, or something like that? some cats just randomly gets really playful and spazzy at nighttime because they're crepuscular animals and that's when they feel most energized (plus i imagine stephie doesn't play with him during the day to tire him out by bedtime when the humans want to sleep).
but if thinking bloomberg or a ghost or whatever made him upset makes you happy, then more power to ya, stephher life is just so boring that she has nothing to talk about except her damn cat doing normal cat things. at least post funny pictures or videos of him, everyone likes those. i think everyone on this thread has a soft spot for peetie and wants to see him goofing around instead of sitting like a lump gazing miserably into your camera.
and if she calls him her familiar, then L O fucking L. he's doesn't sound like the brightest bulb (i'm not cat-racist or anything but for some reason orange cats tend to be dumbasses (which makes them all the more charming tbh)), he's a fat old man that eats pad wrappers and plays with garbage. not really fitting for the demon succubus queen of hell that sapphire crimson claw is.

She has claimed to be a Lovecraft fan before, but whether that's true or not doesn't matter. The Invisible Man was written by H.G. Wells--hexk, even if she read the book it wouldn't have mattered, as the movie itself used a sort of contrived and cringey plotline regarding the main character trying to drive his fiance insane and being abusive in that regard, which is not in the book--although Griffin does horrible things, he does them spontaneously and with no accountability. Seems like they were going for stronk woman defeats evil male oppressor wokeness. It wasn't very good.
Does the movie have anything to do with the book at all? The trailer was so different I assumed the name was unassociated.
