it's a fucking cat. cats do weird shit for no reason all the time. i think it's called the midnight crazies, or evening crazies, or something like that? some cats just randomly gets really playful and spazzy at nighttime because they're crepuscular animals and that's when they feel most energized (plus i imagine stephie doesn't play with him during the day to tire him out by bedtime when the humans want to sleep).
but if thinking bloomberg or a ghost or whatever made him upset makes you happy, then more power to ya, steph

Whether or not this is true, what's important is that Stephanie herself believes in it. When she was sperging about getting a "boy cat" she was so excited that Peetie turned out to be orange and supposedly had some gushy conversation IRL about how stupid orange males are. So she actively decided to make an animal which she believes to be a dumbass her "familiar", like some kind of cartoon oaf henchman. She should have named him Igor.

I can think of a better familiar for her: a toad, both are ugly and fat and toads have been associated with disease and no one likes them.
