Kind of, coming from a shit city that would occasionally deal with this, gentrification means higher rent, more jobs, higher police presence, less of a reason not to work, and neighbors that don't put up with the same shit.

There is a lot to the anti-gentrification movement but primarily it's about keeping the police out and keeping the neighborhood the same. The best way I can explain it is you live in a shit neighborhood but you don't have to be worried about being punished for drunken disorder, open drug use, loud music, bad parking, screaming at your spouse, and death threats to people who piss you off. It's like an extreme version of having a new neighbor that calls the city on you because you have a car on the lawn. Your level of upkeep is increased and most people who settle to live in shit parts of town don't want to put in the extra effort.

The argument they usually bring up is about the increased price of rent, which is understandable for poorer families but most major cities have rent fixing or laws in place so they can't be kicked out unless they can be considered dangerous. I mean admittedly it sucks that you have to move from the place you knew as home but the reality is that it was never your home you just occupied it.

Mike Bloomberg just dropped out of the race!!! And he endorsed Biden on top of that. All I have to say about this is that, Bernie supporters are going to be even more furious this election, than last election.

There's also the issue where not every area that gets gentrified is a den of sadness and poverty, it can very easily happen to a small to decent sized town, city, or county.

Whatever money that Buttgeig, Klobachar, and Bloomberg raised will likely be funneled into radio and TV ads for Biden - so get ready for a bombardment of "No Malarkey" ads.

He's not the greatest troll that ever existed. He's just the troll that made it to the highest, most visible place of power.

It's often said that "the public deserves the politicians they elect, and they deserve them good and hard." A public that gave 8 years to Obama, that paragon of smugness and empty rhetoric, richly deserves 8 years of a troll who means what he says.
