Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

It's not weird, it is fucking stupid. That video of the black guy beating the shit out of that chinese lady on the New York subway was widley reported. you'd think these fucking morons would see that and think, "Huh... Maybe I shouldn't fake cough just to see what people will do. Might be a bad idea..."

People are fucking terrified, and you could very easily provoke a physical attack by being a fucking exceptional individual and ACTING SICK ON PURPOSE BECAUSE MUH FUCKIN' RACISM.
It's times like that when you just get uncomfortably close to them without breaking eye contact and have them backpedal onto their own kafkatrap.

Maybe late about this info but the who and cdc re evaluated the death rate of the virus globally and stated it's closer to 3.4 / 4 % , more than double what they "estimated" (or lied about, they knew how bad it was in China previous to this)...
This is really bad, seeing the numbers coming from Iran and Italy, looks like they are still lying about the death rate if you take in account the lag of 7 to 14 days.

Every day passing seems to get the reality of this virus admitted to being closer and closer to what we witnessed it in earlier's past 2 months of China's reports / videos that are now supressed and censored.

I think they are admitting it gradually but are still lying through their teeths so no one jump at their throats and call them out as the motherfuckers they really are.

Did you even read through this thread? Also, my dad works at Ninetendo MIT btw.

I am in direct contact with Dr. Todd Rider. That guy knows his shit. This is what he had to say:

You have done a very impressive job of rounding up information. I agree that the U.S. and other governments should have done much more to date, and should do much more in the future. I also agree that information they have released is incomplete and probably underestimates the problem, both due to the difficulties of obtaining accurate information and due to the desires of some government officials to minimize the problem.

You are quite right that droplets containing infectious virus can be aerosolized by a person coughing/sneezing and then transmitted to others. Generally such droplets do not travel very far (perhaps a few feet) and do not linger long in the air (perhaps a few minutes) before settling out on surfaces. You are also quite correct that virus could enter the body via the eyes as well as the nose and mouth.

For people (such as health care providers) in close contact with infected patients, it is indeed wise to wear eye/face protection as well as a mask. However, bear in mind that if virus lands on the surface of your mask, goggles, clothing, or skin, and you later touch that surface and then your mouth/nose/eyes, you lose the benefit of the protective gear. For people not in close contact with infected patients, aerosolized virus should not be a significant risk and masks/goggles should not be necessary.

The real problem for most people is touching surfaces. Only touch something if you really have to, and even then consider using something other than your fingers. Wash your hands and/or use alcohol hand sanitizer very frequently and very thoroughly. Don't touch your face. When you work in a biology lab, you quickly realize how often you touch surfaces or your face without thinking about it, and you realize how much conscious effort it takes to retrain yourself not to do that.

It is reasonable to assume that the virus is more widespread than has been announced, and that it will become even more widespread. Until the situation improves, I would recommend not going someplace unless you really need to, and not interacting with other people unless you really need to. Anyone who thinks they might be infected should try to self-quarantine as much as possible, and contact their doctor (by phone) if their symptoms become serious.

I remain hopeful that a vaccine will become available sometime in 2021. The vaccine approach is time consuming but straightforward for most viruses (with a few notable exceptions such as HIV and dengue). In my opinion, the fact that a SARS vaccine was not developed since 2003 does not reveal serious scientific hurdles, only serious bureaucratic/funding hurdles. Many promising projects were begun but then cancelled, or were never funded at all. My research is just one example.

A cytokine storm is possible, but from what I have seen so far, that does not seem to be going on with the coronavirus. If it were, I would expect to see much higher mortality among young adults with the healthiest immune systems that could overreact to the virus, and much lower mortality among the elderly with weaker immune systems. That happened with the 1918 flu but not this virus.

Neural involvement is possible, but in my opinion probably not supported by the currently available data. Without NSAIDs, coronavirus can cause a prolonged and high fever, which might account for any symptoms. I tested several viruses in mice, and I know from experience that viruses can have very different effects in mice vs. humans.

The problem with dengue is that there are several different types of dengue virus. If you get any one type, the illness is usually not too bad. But then if you later become infected with a second type of dengue, the immune system overreacts and causes great damage, especially hemorrhage. That sort of effect is always something to consider, but so far I haven't seen enough data to think that is a problem with coronavirus.

You are quite correct that the best hope for the near future is existing drugs that may happen to have some activity against this virus. Most people survive this virus, which means the human immune system is able or nearly able to defeat coronavirus on its own. If an existing drug could even slow the virus down, it should enable the immune system to catch up, and greatly improve the odds. Hopefully it will rapidly become clear which drugs are working and which are not, and pharmacies and hospitals will be able to stock up on the most effective ones. (Of course, drug-resistant virus strains might then arise, but that is a problem for the future.)

I wish I had better news about the current state of DRACO or other prophylactics/therapeutics, or about the competence of governments in responding to the coronavirus. Coronavirus is clearly much more serious than conventional flu or stomach viruses. However, at this point the best mindset may be similar to that of a person in a community where the flu or a stomach virus is making the rounds. Do everything you possibly can to protect yourself by minimizing exposure to other people and places, disinfecting your hands, and avoiding touching surfaces and your face. But brace yourself that there is a good chance you will still get the virus anyway. And if you do get it, do your best not to pass the virus along to anyone else.

Thanks again for your support!

Now, a sharp-eyed person might notice that he downplayed reports of cytokine storms and neurological infection. I’m going to follow up with him and see what he has to say about a number of things. Like the papers showing possible neural involvement in humans. Or, the fact that Cytosorbents corporation thought there was enough evidence of cytokine storms in COVID-19 patients to send their product to Wuhan.

In this publication, Huang, et al. describe the characteristics and clinical course of hospitalized patients infected with the Wuhan coronavirus who did, or did not, require treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU). Those that were admitted to the ICU, particularly those with severe disease, exhibited significantly higher levels of inflammatory cytokines compared to those that did not. This “cytokine storm” can trigger a viral sepsis in coronavirus infection, where viral replication and excessive, uncontrolled systemic inflammation can lead to pneumonitis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, respiratory failure, shock, organ failure, secondary bacterial pneumonia, and potentially death. This same correlation between cytokine storm and severity of illness was observed previously in both SARS and MERS patients.

Oh, by the way, I followed up on Botao Xiao‘s little paper, and I loaded up Google Earth Pro and pinpointed the laboratories in Wuhan, one of which, the “Wuhan Center for Disease Control & Prevention”, containing diseased bats that were reportedly biting and peeing on lab technicians, was indeed located less than 300 meters from the Huanan Wet Market.

If you wanna see them for yourself, the Wuhan CDC is at 30°36'59.81"N, 114°15'22.92"E, and the P4 Lab is at 30°22'35.05"N and 114°15'45.06"E. I wondered why they’d try to obfuscate the location of the P4 lab, and then I noticed that it’s located 2 kilometers from a reservoir of clean water for some fucking ungodly reason. How’s that for weaponized autism?

I am literally on top of this topic like a fly on shit. I am contacting virologists, businessmen, and bureaucrats, and I’m not going to fucking take this shit lying down. I don’t care if I’m v& or put on a special list, or whatever. Let them come. I am not going to put up with this.

If this was a gain-of-function pathogen and the Chinese let this leak out of a lab and contaminate the whole globe, they are in deep fucking shit, and they know it.

People right here in the Seattle area are already getting sick and dying of this bullshit.

Nigger, this isn't The Stand, and we're not going to meet Randall Flagg.

It’s just like the flu dude, take a deep breath and calm down, nothing is going to happen.

It's a little sad that the Washington outbreak happened in the worse place, a nursing home with elderly people who can't take care of themselves any more, alot of those people would be in critical condition from a normal flu now imagine a virus with a way higher death rate I'll be surprised if half of the infected are still alive by the end of the month.

Imagine all this sperging over Wufu but you die of influenza.

Maybe it came from Iran? That'd be a real twist.

48 total positive In norway most of it in oslo area where the faggotry is most strong . Praise kek may the normies be eradicated .

Also students in the school can take long sick leave without the doctors note so they have more time to deal with karens or patients no dead yet but considering how many ancient old goats are around probably the death toll will be high.

Also denmark 15 positive and sweden 52 ( i dont believe the swedish numbers at all)

They've long since lost that battle. Too many videos out there of various CCP WuFlu atrocities - that's EXACTLY what they are.

I'm surprised they weren't petty enough to kick her out of the group for the live press conference.

How angry is China over not being NUMBAH ONE?

Wonder what rank China and Iran are. I'm afraid to even guess. Those are the two countries hardest hit so far. Everyone else, by comparison, has just gotten love taps.
