Glip and company are very much holdovers from the Tumblr anti-recovery community. I don't necessarily mean only people who are blatantly anti-mental health treatment but also the people who expect everyone around them to constantly accommodate, handhold, and excuse them because of their mental health labels. They think that holding people accountable for hurtful, self destructive, dishonest, and abusive behavior is in itself a form of abuse, except when someone else has hurt them. Then they're out for blood, as you can see in Glip's scenes and comics. This kind of culture is very much about enabling and indulging people over putting in the hard work necessary to overcome maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. They're the same people who spam about uwu self care positivity while being angry, unemployable wretches unwilling to change themselves. It's a very manipulative, hostile space that encourages learned helplessness and victimhood. There is this idea that they are perfect how they are, and only the scum neurotypicals are trying to force them to be something that they're not. While I think it's important to be understanding with other people, it's also important to hold them accountable and be firm yet fair in discouraging bad behaviors and rewarding good ones.

I get why people can be attracted to this worldview, especially for teenagers who may have their own symptoms compounded with trouble at home or school. Trying to get better is really fucking hard; externalizing responsibility onto others is really easy. Them playing therapist with each other is 'safe' compared to a real mental health professional who will hold them to account, especially when medication gets involved. Glip is able to cash in on her social capital in a space where professional accreditation and experience are eschewed and act as a leader even though she's the definition of unfit.

I think there's a difference between making art that expresses your feelings of anger or humiliation in a way that other people can understand and resonate with versus drawing a picture of someone you don't like getting raped. It's weird DeviantArt vent revenge porn.

Another factor is morals and resolution. Say the person who was shitty left your life, so the art turns into resolving their story on your own terms. In the case of glip there's no resolution and the person ends up just looking like a silly bad guy. Pettiness stays petty until you emphasize with the other person, then it becomes intriguing.

The reason people in glitchedpuppet's inner circle are okay with being portrayed as (irredeemable, awful people) is because the community pushes to make these portrayals seem like it's a "wake-up call". That they not only deserve to be portrayed like this, but they actively need it, so they can see how others (glip's other inner circle) see them. In the server's mind, glip is doing kasran a favor by portraying them as a creepy cartoonish incel simp because they ARE a creepy cartoonish incel simp, and their only problem is not recognising it fast enough. To deny that their behaviour is as grossly exaggerated and portrayed as they are in their literally black and white villain form is to deny that they act like that, it is treated as defensiveness over how they have hurt the server, thus further reinforcing their view (worth mentioning that by design, the angel portrayals completely skip over any relevant context or shades in their interaction. Whatever is drawn is treated as a fact of how the accused party is like, and acted)
