Mostly because we’re not seeing the young and healthy dropping like flies. It was apparently loose in a good part of the world before we ever realized it, however unlike China, people in Europe/the US are not worked 14-18+ hours a day like slaves, with absolute shit air (remember the athletes of the Olympics complaining about needing masks and oxygen when exercising for Beijing?), shit food, and treatments consisting of being shoved in an unheated warehouse with one sink and no medication in January. Or put in a leaking metal box.

No. I’m saying they are the prime target for ANY respiratory disease. In the 2017-18 flu killed 80,000 people in the US. Do you remember the chaos and devastation then? How there were bodies everywhere, oh god the humanity!

People die everyday. It sucks, but it’s life. Any illness in a nursing home ends up going through it like wildfire.

The cheap treasuries mean the outlook stinks, and the USA will have to issue a staggering amount of debt to cover the demand and to cover it in the near future will have to seriously hike interest rates in an economy on fumes.

Who Wins? China. Cheap oil for stock piling. Their government reserves will get bloated on lovely cheap oil. In addition to this, their bonds of 1 Trillion dollars are now exceptionally valuable as many of those bonds are older issued bonds paying somewhere near 2%-3% per year while the best you'll get today is a stinking .75%. So imagine how valuable those bonds are for re-sale now? Saudi too has a lot of bonds, but sadly, to keep the standard of living they are used to, will require leveraging the bonds for cash.

Another winner: Russia. While they lose on the oil price, the exchange rate becomes most favorable, and after a number of rigs shut down in the USA, they will get their price back along with Saudi without having to increase demand.

It's not just the flu. It is way more infectious than the flu and has no vaccine. It is also less severe and less lethal than the flu. This is the situation, it's that simple.

He's not saying that, but amongst other things it means the strain on the healthcare system and qaste of resources will be lesser than previous estimations. It is a good new.

I like this. We should start reporting "mortality rate" individually by country and shaming those with high rates to encourage governments to test more. It feels like countries are working hard to keep their "cases reported" number low.

P.S. Just to protect my record on this, I've been sperging on the threat of this virus since the beginning of the thread. There are a lot of people in this thread. Almost all who post regularly seem to take it seriously, from what I've seen.
