Howard Phillips also died nearly a hundred years ago. You know, back when the KKK was an actual thing and not 30 hillbillies larping in Georgia or whatever.

The insistence of left Twitter on trotting out his corpse in disgrace once a year points out something. Either that they'll never let someone's sins die, or that they know that they're so incapable of producing something of their own that endures that they have to tear down a dead man's achievements at every chance

Speaking about Bob's health, I wonder how much radon he's huffing in that Mom's basement, Brother's basement, basement apartment of his? The place floods when it rains, so it can't be too well sealed up down there.

Lovecrafts form of discrimination remains topical in 21st century politics so the sci-fi community being american-centric has a lot of castigation over his influence-partly due to USA's societies spectacular failure to resolve a 150 year ongoing shitshow post civil war, we can't give any of those African American kids a future but we can at least retroactively scold a guy whose been dead for just under a century.

Where some author is damned to live in Lovecrafts shadow because we cannot comment on her works on their own merit.

That's amazing. And no more racist than some of the still living(?) and very liberal R. Crumb's work. It could only be better if Public Enemy showed up at the mention of a black planet

Howie's racism would be worth discussing if it was notably more or less virulent than his living contemporaries. I somehow doubt this is the case for a man who lived in the segregated aftermath of slavery when theories such as human eugenics were enthusiastically embraced. His cat's name would not even be considered rude until a few decades after his death

It doesn't even matter what time frame Lovecraft was living in. Because it's pretty blatantly evident that his views more stemmed from mental illness rather then outright bigotry.

The guy had severe paranoia and fear over what existed merely beyond the walls of his house. What do you think that evolves into it when you apply it on global scale?

If it's a finished and insulated basement I don't think Radon is that much of an issue.
