He must be incredibly shitty to his kids for this to happen. I mean they've been divorced for a while now and seeing how Lowtax can't let a grudge go Megan probably was used to have a shitty, tenuous contact with him via the kids, their relationship must've really detoriated lately on top of that which probably means that Lowtax wasn't only acting unhinged online. Remember also that Megan helped Ashli escape from Lowtax' house, which probably drew the ire of Lowtax too in that "how dare you stand up to me" kind of way abusive shitheads usually do. He probably felt fully justified in whatever he did to trigger Megan to do this.

Can't wait for goons to also totally ignore this so they can keep playing crabs-in-a-bucket on their '00s era forums.

She may also have already been considering doing this, and LowT's recent behavior and simultaneous social media lunacy finally gave her the evidence that he's a mental case on an extreme drug binge to go ahead with it.

What a relief that someone is looking out for those kids. He's clearly a terrible father. He's so self absorbed that when his daughter is wetting the bed he doesn't show any concern but instead gets angry with her and his ex wife like it is some attack on him.

On the streams he never shows any warmth or kindness towards his eldest daughter, she has to walk on eggshells to avoid one of his 'hilarious' rants. Is that the only way he can communicate now? The one I saw he goes on some screechy ramble about how he used to be invited to talk at colleges then he leaves her to talk to strangers while he looks for souvenirs or recordings or something.

He has such a Miss Havisham vibe to him, like his life peaked in the mid 00s and he refuses to move on from then in any way; same humour, same stories, same forums, just all laid to waste by time. Its definitely no place for a child and he has nothing to share with them apart from bitterness and regret. The worst part is that being self-employed, semi wealthy, having time to spend with his kids growing up- these ARE his good old days, he just can't see it. Even through his rose tinted glasses the stories of him being an internet celeb sounded shallow and boring.

I expect his daughter reads this thread, she seems intelligent and I'm sure she's interested in knowing more about her father. My advice to her would be to not waste her energy on him. There may be a time in future when he realises what he's done and wants to make amends or there may not, but she'd be better off having no father at all than the person he is now.

It doesn't seem like she does all that much. At least the only recent exchange between the two (that we have seen at least) is email where she basically called him out for the utter dick he is and he childishly whined about it. She doesn't seem to be under any illusions about what a piece of shit he is.

I can't blame Megan for using that to protect her kids from being forced to see him. Any sane parent would.

At what age do US courts allow kids a say in visitation? The older they get here, the more their wishes are taken into account and Lauren would be 15 now.

In theory they don't much but in actuality they do. The court can and does overrule the child's preferences in the interests of their welfare. In actuality she has good reason not to want to have anything to do with him and if she articulates it it will be convincing.

I'm not a lawfag. I have the unfortunate experience of knowing a minor who wants nothing to do with his mother. It is an ongoing issue. At least in my state the judge is supposed to take into consideration the growing experience of the child and how they feel when visiting the non-custodial parent. My buddy has pressed the issue and it is a subject of ongoing court faggotry between a minor, a deadbeat mom, and a father. An important piece to note is that the default position within my state is to facilitate an agreement with visitation by both the mother and the father. That is the current position that courts are holding afaik. The mother and the father spending time with the child results in the best outcome for the child.

He's such a piece of shit for putting his kid's bed-wetting issues out there on social media. I don't care what kind of context he tried to ;ortray it under, it's something that kids will feel deeply embarrassed and shameful about, and a parent putting it out there for the public to see will just further the shame and embarrassment, as well as adding a layer of parental betrayal to it.
How he doesn't understand this, I have no idea, 'cuz it seems like such an obvious thing to not do as a parent. Shit, I remember there even being an afterschool special type movie when I was a kid, about an evil mother that would hang her son's wet, pissy sheets out where his friends would be sure to see them, in order to shame and abuse him. I'm not saying he's some evil monster intentionally trying to hurt his kids, but he is a neglectful trash idiot, that lets his ego and personal pleasures come before his own children's best interests.

Generally they don't permanently deprive either parent of visitation without extreme behavior. Even for shit like exposing them to drug use in the home or adultery, the protective order or visitation arrangement is usually only conditionally changed, i.e. you get rid of the whore or the druggie boyfriend or whatever, or at least keep them out of the sight of the child and you can have visitation again.

Leaving a kid with only one parent has really shitty outcomes including ending up in prison, on drugs, or otherwise fucked up. It's rarely better not to have even a kind of shitty parent.

I've seen the stats and I understand why the court has come to this conclusion and I can't blame them for it, but I'm going to hop on a soapbox and lambaste the government for being worthless faggots who don't put in the work on a case by case basis. They sat on their fucking asses for decades and finally the stats matter and they seem to apply them arbitrarily. I've seen it both work and fail. I've watched them screw the pooch unforgivably hard and they can blow me.

Fuck it, my disgust with the judicial system shouldn't be a shock if you've seen my posts in L&L LLP. I'll shut-up before I spergout even more.
