Containment What will happen when Barb dies?

Sorry if this has already been discussed and I’m late, but if Barb dies, wouldn’t Chris get the house? Since he’s her next of kin and all that. Unless they have super debt and it’s seized and the horde is auctioned off.

The bank owns the house when Chris defaults on the mortgage after any income Barb has goes away along with her.

Obviously Chris won't be able to pay anything once the bank seizes the home, but will any of the creditors want to go after anything of value Chris has? Is there any way they can legally force him to liquidate all his material possessions (car, electronics, etc)? I doubt anyone is going to want to pay anything for his massive pile of grease-stained Funko Pops.

That will be the massive last minute garage sale when Chris realizes he is being evicted and needs some money to find another place to stay.

Once Chris does get kicked I doubt any shelter would accept Chris for more than a few days after he starts getting touchy with some poor random girl. Unless one of his sped friends takes him in Hamber style, but I doubt that’d last too long either.
Didn't ADF do something similar and use the poor helpless transwoman card to weasel his way into a woman's only shelter? I know Chris isn't as street savvy, but I'm curious about the lengths he might go to ensure his survival. He'll probably try to mace his way through the soup kitchen lines.

My mom worked at a women’s shelter and they’re really strict about that kind of stuff. If you had a son he wouldn’t be allowed in passed the age of 13, theres no way chris would ever be allowed in on pulling the “im trans” card alone since he doesn’t pass in the slightest, along with being in the buttfuck south. Though I doubt he’d need to mace anyone based on his smell alone.

Was that before or after all the troon shit became prevalent? I’ve heard recent cases of them walking up to women’s shelters like Rosa Parks walking up to a bus stop.

2016/2017, but it was in a crime prevalent area, especially for sexual assault so things may have been different for other states with lower rates.

Didn't Bob have like three or four heart attacks in his lifetime?
Yes, according to the CWCki and also indicated by his letters to Chris. As far as comparisons between him and his son go, Bob was in the military and reasonably trim for most of his life. We can also assume he lived a reasonably healthy lifestyle pre-Barb. The “three Burger King stops a day” era happened when Chris and him moved back into 14BC, so about 10 years before his death. He could’ve made it to his 90s if he hadn’t married Barb.

I think Bob only ate breakfast at Burger King, Chris was the one who ate fast food three times a day.

I'm expecting him to go full-psycho.
My guess is he'll snap, refusing to accept death, and will sit around in his room, leaving the dead body there as it slowly mummifies in the horde like an old cat, not to be discovered for years until the police break through the horde and haul him off to the nuthouse.

Sadly enough I see him going full Norman bates

Chris pretty much already does all the things needed to live independently: he pays the bills, he gets food and toiletries, he can drive wherever he needs to get to. It's not like he's going to suddenly forget how McDonald's works and starve to death in his bedroom. Hell, if he got rid of the hoard, I bet he can even cook simple meals for himself.

The biggest issue is going to be his shopping habits. He already spends ridiculous amounts of money on stupid shit, and when Barb dies he might start buying even more to try to ease his grief. That will be mitigated by losing Barb's pension/SSI and having less money, but I'm betting Chris won't get it at first and will have at least a few issues with missed payments before he finally gets it.

You can’t say he pays bills and all that cause he doesn’t that’s why they are on the verge of losing the house, that’s why his credit card bills are through the roof, he spends every penny he gets on conventions games and toys lets be realistic.
The only way he’s going to survive without his mother is in a assisted living facility

Honestly I think he'd be fine with someone else strictly managing his finances, but he's Chris so he'll never let that happen.

I'm kind of curious about that. He's untouchable to collectors and courts right now because he doesn't own anything they can repossess. What if somehow he did start actually saving money and trying to build up a life? Is he just permanently fucked? Can he file for any sort of relief?
