SNL being unfunny is just a symptom of today's culture. Comedy in general has been suffering for years now because nobody can take a joke without getting offended. The only acceptable targets to joke about are the safest ones (the closer to straight white male, the safer the target), and a joke at anyone else's expense is considered "punching down." Gross-out or shock humor is about the only safe method since it takes refuge in absurdity, but it's a cheap way to get laughs that wears off quickly for many.

Pair that with "comedians" thinking that anyone actually cares about their political opinions and deciding to lecture the rest of us plebs on how we should think, and you get modern SNL/late-night talk shows/most of comedy in general. Eight years of ragging on Bush followed by eight years of dicksucking Obama made them believe that they were on the right side of history, and when the people voted the other way, their minds couldn't take it. They've ramped up their screeching about everything to increasing heights and have forgotten how to make anything funny.

I can quote the "many such cases, sad!" line from a random Trump tweet from years ago and still crack up every time. I can't remember the last time I watched a modern comedy movie and actually enjoyed it. When the President can fire off a tweet that's funnier than anything your entire industry has churned out in years, you have a major problem.

The great Norm Macdonald said it best in his monologue, returning as host after being shitcanned for too many OJ jokes.

And he's been right for 20 years now.

(P.s. the people booing were apparently not in the crowd, but the writers, which just makes it even better)

Bullshit. "comedy", and every other form of media is exclusively a function of where it leans politically. How funny or good it is is secondary. Look at Roseanne barr vs that open pedophile guardians of galaxy faggot.

Comedy was left leaning in the 90's, and still managed to be funny with consistency.

Comedy in the new 10's is Left-IST propaganda, and painfully unfunny.

The difference is/was that modern "comedy" seeks to purify it's audience so that only the "right" people get made fun of and only the "right" people laugh in response to that.

It got worse the less they controlled, most people in Hollywood know they affect culture it's the basis of PBS and children's programming. They saw around 2010 that the culture wasn't changing as fast as they wanted. As soon as Trump became the nominee you had them create media that was effectively them standing on their soapbox and telling the lesser people what they should do. You could see them realize their old tricks weren't working as well and instead of figuring out it was because people didn't want to do what they were told they assumed it was because the message wasn't blatant enough.

I'm thankful for DJT (+ the internet), for many things, but one of the main things was lifting the veil that was the active subversion going on in media/academia/etc. It's been an absolute joy to watch the mighty media corporations, the indestructible billion dollar conglomerates, and the Hollywood clairvoyants be knocked down quite a few pegs. Allot of people still drink the kool-aid but it's safe to say a huge chunk of society finally became aware and fed up with the bullshit that the left has pushed for far too long. It's been like watching a fish flounder out of water. They got too comfortable with nobody really questioning them or holding their feet to the fire, and now you can see them panicking and in overdrive and they're doing nothing but spiraling out of control. Fantastic.

Ironically, I think the instant gratification aspect of our current culture did something positive for once. Lefties that have been brought up for years in this ecosystem of consuming only the "correct" ideas got increasingly fed up with incrementalism. They wanted their fully automated luxury gay space communism, and they wanted it yesterday. After all, their professors/the media/Hollywood told them that they'd be in a utopia right now if not for those damned conservatives and their capitalist ways! Their brains are wired for getting what they want, when they want it, and slow and steady just wasn't going to cut it anymore.

It really seems like it kicked into high gear after Obama's reelection, thought to be proof that conservatism was now consigned to the dustbin of history and the glorious leftist utopia was inevitable. You saw increasing pushes against anything remotely considered conservative with constant promotion of the liberal causes du jour, and they scored a big win for their side with gay marriage magically being found to be constitutional.

But they pushed far too hard, far too fast. I've mentioned before, and even Obama admitted it, that the trans rights push immediately following the gay marriage decision was a bridge too far for a lot of people. Coupled with other poor decisions like continuing to embrace the green agenda (which would put plenty of fossil fuel workers out of a job) and demanding more gibs, it really wasn't a shock to people paying attention that Trump won. Turns out that people really care a lot more about putting food on the table than allowing a man in a dress to go into the women's restroom.

The funniest part is that these lefties are just refusing to back down. The Democrats are being dragged further leftward by the socialist wing of their party, demanding ideological conformity to every one of their demands. They don't know the meaning of the word compromise, choosing instead to throw tantrums and whine when they don't get their way, sometimes violently. The Dem leadership is trying their damnedest to keep it together, but I don't see AOC and her ilk learning to shut up and sit down anytime soon. Fine by me, let 'em dig their own grave. Until they excise that tumor, it's just going to sap the life out of their party.

It's times such as this that I miss George Carlin. He didn't gave a shit who he pissed off and ripped on. Everyone and everything was fair game to him and so nothing and no one was really sacred in his style of comedy and he was never afraid to touch on any topic. He was one of a kind. So there it is.

Like he’s written some awful laws while in the senate. Not even touching his voting record just what he introduced and it’s like what the fuck. Never hated him just didn’t agree with the shit he was doing (fun note he introduced the crack house bill that didn’t stop his son from being a crack head), but I’m like shit I’m a human with empathy. This is just sad because if it were benzos he was prescribed for nerves he would be off that shit from how dumb it makes him sound. This? Press F just because we have human decency.
I'm torn on this. Part of me finds it kind of shocking, witnessing what seems to essentially be elder abuse and I feel for him. But then I think of all the corrupt shit, how much Biden has syphoned over the years from Ukraine into his family via Hunter Biden, and I think "fuck him, he deserves worse". Soemwhere in Ukraine, the knock on effects of that corruption Biden was responsible for has left many elderly people with the same mental state he's exhibiting in poverty and without the financial social support they need.

Meanwhile, Biden was responsible for getting his own crackhead, stripper fucking, parental responsibility avoiding, utterly useless son rich at the expense of those people. And then Biden complicit with the attempt to protect that useless fuck and railroad a sitting president, elected by the people, with impeachment. Just recalling that smug face of Hunter Biden who is rich ultimately at the expense of a bunch of poor fucks, some of whom are undoubtedly in the same mental state as his father, makes me lose all sympathy for the Bidens.

I think: HE's a shitty, corrupt, selfish and sociopathic swamp creature, still benefiting from the lives he's involved in ruining... And then I think: Fuck him, couldn''t happen to a nicer guy.

Karma is a bitch, and I'd consider this karma for what he has done.

OK hold up, that video is "Edited" how? Did he or didn't he say it?

The clip cuts him off so you lose context bit like what happens to Trump everyday.

Fuller quote: "We cannot get re-elect, we cannot win this re-election, excuse me, we can only re-elect Donald Trump if in fact we get engaged in this circular firing squad here"

The left/MSM being the humorless blobs they are feel any attempt to mock them with clips like these is the most dishonest stuff imaginable.

Indeed, it'll be a while before SNL will produce a skit like the one featuring Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor.

Basically "its only okay if we do it. It's illegal for drumpf!!"
God forbid the president or anyone have fun with out of context memes that don't hurt anyone.
