How much of a prison sentence is basically life-ruining? Even if he only gets a quarter of the 80 year sentence... that's still 20 years. Less than he deserves, but barely getting off easy.

The funny part is the poll would be largely academic, best case homeboy doesn't get stabbed in prison and gets released as a 50-year-old sex offender with no useful skills or personal contacts who care about him in any way (except out of spite).

Class B felonies in Oregon are punishable at max with 10 years in prison per charge, so up to 60 years
Class C felonies are punishable at max with 5 years, so up to 20 years

Could we see a full-on 80 year sentence?

I don't know the specifics of each charge, but if it's the same victim each time it's likely to be concurrent. So if the two groups are lumped together with sentences concurrent for the separate groups, I would bet on the max for each group, and for it to be consecutive for each group, so 10 years for the Class Bs and 5 for the Class Cs.

If there are different offenses and different victims, though, he could get 15 years a pop for each victim rather than each group of offenses.

And in theory he could just get the max for everything at 80 years.

Unless the judge is going really hard, though, I'd look at a guidelines sentence but I know absolutely nothing about guidelines sentences in Oregon. By comparison, in Pennsylvania, though, Nick Bate came out at the absolute top of guidelines sentences, getting basically the max.

As everyone who knows anything about this guy's absolute vile actions, even here, has been absolutely filled with hate and rage against him, I can't imagine a judge exposed to the concentrated evidence of it will be any less outraged, even after a career of looking at people like him. He's worse than Nick Bate and I hope he gets treated worse.

I'd still look to the guidelines for the sentence but expect he's going to top out the guidelines for this kind of shit. There's absolutely nothing redeeming about this person at all.

So they got him to plea out for most of the class B felonies, and a couple of the class Cs. The maximums for class Bs are 10 years and the class Cs are 5 years. Now we get to see the sentencing. They have a large administration wing at Snake River Correctional Institution, it would be pottery, and another smaller one at the state pen generally reserved for the most violent inmates. I wouldn't count on him being in general population and if he gets placed there, I would count on him checking himself in to administrative segregation rather quickly unless inmates in Oregon have no problem with chomos. You can find stories in some systems where chomos can ride it out in medium security because everyone just wants to do their time a get out.

There's a chance he'll be a sequestered inmate.

Pretty disappointed they dismissed the animal abuse charges, though. I need to put it in perspective and be happy with the fact justice is even happening at all.

In the past I've heard about charges like this being dropped not because of anyone seeing it as an inequal evil but because other charges lead to more severe sentences thus being more worth in prosecuting for.

Fantastic. Did anyone else also read that post that talks about how if you're caught masturbating in prison it's considered public indecency and can add to your sentence? I just thought that was interesting.

I've heard stories about chomos on some yards (especially on the East coast) riding out their time without major incident. I hope this is a different scenario. Whatever happens to him, it's impossible to feel sympathy.

My understanding is that in Oregon, it is very unlikely for a chomo to land in GenPop. Stabbing one is considered not just an esteemable act, but a duty. Every Peckerwood in the yard is going to have a boner for shanking him, and if they have a chance to and they don't, that's trouble.

Oregon has dedicated PC yards, and an entire institution (Two Rivers) for inmates at a high risk of victimization. But those places aren't safe, either. Even there, there will be tons of dudes looking to unlock the Chomo Slayer achievement.

He'll be lucky if he's merely extorted. He may spend his sentence looking over his shoulder and giving up his commissary.
