I am more surprised the Democrats nominated a old rich white man with old racist views given how much the party has been obsessed with diversity, inclusion and the end of white men.

Looks like its over for the orange man as electionbettingodds and predictit are dropping Trump for Biden. Looks like maybe the impeachment boost is wearing off and coronavirus is fucking with the stock market.

Honestly, those will probably go back up sooner rather then later.

Latest biden senility moment. He cant remember who the last president was. It was Obama btw.

This is part of the reason why. Someone who's gradually losing his mental faculties is simply not going to be elected president. Forget about the current panic over the corona virus for a moment and imagine what Trump is going to do to Biden in the debates for a few minutes and the simple reality of what's likely to happen in November will become very clear.

This is very likely not this simple but I want to pose this question: Could the plan be to let Biden get crushed, let his whole corrupt scheming get BTFO so that from here on out they can claim: "We no longer think old, white and male candidates are viable anymore in today's progressive America."
Then run nothing but POC and middle aged wyminxn (preferably of color)? If the ticket of nominees is going to look like it did this year, especially if Warren and Clinton aren't running, then that's what they had already. If Bootygig doesn't get VP he is likely gone and Yang is already.

That's why they are focusing so heavily on Corona-Chan. They have already accepted defeat at the higher levels so they hope that snowball can stand a chance in hell because hey, if Trump is out then Trump is out.

The media has already spun Trumps america as this insipid hellhole so they would just triple down and say there was too much old white mannery going on and oh how we've seen the light. We're so sowwy anout running Biden in 2020 but I mean he was VP to Black Jesus (thas rite) so forgive us and you'll get your Wakandan Utopia in 2024! Pinky swear!

Trump just announced that he wants federal sick days for all Americans in response to the Coronavirus. How long until the democrats are against it?

"Mr. Trump has announced he wants federal sick days for Americans in response to the coronavirus. Here's how that hurts women and minorities."

Watch for this headline this week.

The theory of the Dems trying to crash 2020 with no survivors has been around for a while. That doesn't mean they have a plan for 2024 even if the intentional bomb is true. They've shown a lack of ability for long term planning. 2008 was supposed to be the beginning of the 1st Democratic Reich and they've been scrambling even since November 7th, 2016. It was Her Turn.

Trump could say he thinks kicking puppies is bad and the msm would write fifteen think-pieces on how kicking puppies empowers women or something.

Bill Maher has openly called for a recession just to harm Trump.

Edit: Bonus: This was August of last year, just months before the Coronavirus might have hit in China initially (November by best estimates).

In a Covid-19 total apocalypse scenario, I think Trump would come out on top because all the urban-dwelling Democrats would be forced to do absentee ballot voting unless they wanted to expose themselves to risk of infection in public, while the rural Republicans could still easily show up at their local polling centers with less risk to their health. That kind of lopsided turnout might even outweigh all the Trump-voting Boomers who are struck down by the virus.

But of course, a total apocalypse scenario is unlikely.

What if the coronavirus is the Trump curse writ large, and by the time of the election, the red states are the most populated? 😱

(Not really though)

Regardless of the state, I'm sure it will hit urban counties harder than rural counties. As far as the virus affecting the apportioning of electoral college representation, it depends on when they finish collecting the 2020 census data, and regardless would not have an effect in time for the 2020 election.

They're all gonna die from Corona because it kills boomers the most. Corona-Chan will be our first woman president.

I think Biden’s dementia is oversold by a lot in the Trump camp. He definitely is getting old, but I still think he can get through the debates just fine.
He could even catch Trump off-guard if Trump goes into the election season with the same mind set some people here have, that Biden will be a push over.

Biden has a strong appeal because he represents the Obama days. And that’s a very very strong appeal that a lot on the right wing may not appreciate until it’s too late, and the Obama voters come out in hoards. Also, Trump had/has an awkward relationship with the previous administration. From Trump putting out a bounty for Obama’s birth certificate to their head butting in the 2016 election, That the media could use against him in the debates.

I still think the odds are definitely on Trumps side, but it won’t be a cakewalk and Trump will still have to campaign really hard to win.

Neither Joe Biden nor Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will defeat President Donald Trump in 2020’s presidential election, despite Democrat attempts to politically capitalize on the coronavirus outbreak, Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip and author of Loserthink: How Untrained Brains Are Ruining America, predicted on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Sunday.

Addressing the Democrat race for a presidential nominee and the forthcoming general election, special guest host Joel Pollak invited Adams’ assessment of the primary contest between Biden and Sanders.

“I think it’s gonna be a little bit of changing leads [between Biden and Sanders] for a while until Trump beats whoever wins because the media likes a horse race,” Adams replied, adding, “[The media] are going to prop up whoever is slightly behind.”

Adams continued, “I would be surprised if Bernie doesn’t have some kind of a pop — some kind of a good week coming up — just to make it interesting. So I think it’s gonna change leads, and it might be exciting right down to the final moment.”

Sanders’ appeal is too narrow among Democrats to afford the Vermont senator any likelihood of being elected president, estimated Adams.

“Bernie’s problem can be expressed this way: He’ll get basically zero Republicans to vote for him,” Adam remarked. “[Bernie Sanders] will get anybody who thinks they can benefit from his policies to vote for him, and a few people are just nice, who are Democrats who say, ‘Well, even though it’ll cost me money, I would like people to have health care.'”

Adams continued, “There’s got to be –just off the top of my head — there’s got to be a solid 25 percent of Democrats who just say, ‘You know, I kind of work for my money. Can I keep it?’ I think that’s all it takes for a landslide. So I think that solid — I’ll just put a number on it — 25 percent of Democrats would realize that it’s not their best interest [to vote for Bernie Sanders].”

Current economic circumstances disadvantage Sanders, determined Adams.

“You don’t want to change a system that’s working,” Adam said. “Now, if you were to subtract coronavirus, you would see a system that is working better than the economy’s ever worked. It’s the best economy of all time, and it’s irrational to change things when they’re working that well, even if they’re not perfect. So you don’t tear it down and start from scratch in that situation, and you can depend on a solid 25 percent of Democrats saying, ‘You know, it just doesn’t make sense, the size and the risk for the reward that’s in front of us.'”

Adams added, “So that makes Bernie, I think, completely impossible to get elected.”

Adams attributed Biden’s frequent misstatements to deteriorating cognition.

“Biden’s problem — of course, it’s obvious — is his declining mental state,” Adams stated. “The thing I predicted is that we’d have a Joe Biden … get the nomination and that he picks — to bolster his campaign — somebody younger, ideally female, [a] person of color, and Kamala [Harris] kind of stands out as the obvious one there, but wouldn’t that make her — at least in the, in the eyes of the voters, if not in reality — sort of a shadow president?”

Biden selecting Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as a running mate would make the California senator appear to be “somebody who’s the power behind the throne and whoever people think is backing Harris, whichever Democrats or billionaires or donors,” he stated, adding, “It’s going to look like they’re in charge just because Biden’s going to look like a weak candidate mentally.”

Pollak asked if the coronavirus outbreak could cost Trump the election.

Adams responded, “If you were going to bet on it, you’d bet no because people understand that [Donald Trump] didn’t cause the coronavirus, and he did close the airports.”

Adams concluded, “I think you’ll fairly rapidly see that we’ll get some kind of a control on it, which doesn’t mean we stop the virus. It just means we don’t get overloaded. We figure out a way to keep the economy at least maintaining until we can get past it.”

Mike Bloomberg-founded Everytown for Gun Safety endorsed the candidacy of Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Monday.

The Hill quoted Everytown’s John Feinblatt, who said, “Vice President Joe Biden is unquestionably the candidate in the race who has spent a lifetime fighting to protect Americans from gun violence while repeatedly taking on the NRA and winning.”

Biden has long touted his work on the 1994 “assault weapons” ban, claiming it as an example of defeating the NRA.

Breitbart News reported the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice findings that the “assault weapons” ban did not reduce crime. And the New York Times reported that the very term “assault weapon” was a Democrat construct, designed to create a political category of firearms that could then be banned to make Democrats look tough on crime.

But Everytown and other Bloomberg gun control groups, such as Moms Demand Action, are counting on Biden to enact restrictions on the Second Amendment.

Moms Demand leader Shannon Watts said, “When every candidate is running on the issue of gun safety, deciding who to endorse becomes a question of who will prioritize gun safety as president, and Joe Biden has a track record that proves that he will.”

Bill Kristol has announced (tweeted actually) that he is a Democrat, and, somewhat presumptuously, that you are too: “We are all Democrats now” was his claim, to which people brought up on black-and-white television might reply, “Whaddya mean ‘we’ kemosabe?”

Kristol hasn’t liked Donald Trump from the beginning. But Donald Trump hasn’t changed much from the beginning either, so Kristol’s change of parties must have more to do with the allure of the current Democrat candidates for that party’s nomination for president than with the performance or behavior of the current president.

And one has to admit that the behavior, and the statements, of those candidates are … remarkable.

Foreign policy maven Bill Kristol may have been seduced by Bernie Sanders’s foreign policy sophistication. Sanders once praised Cuba for its education system in an article for the Vermont Freeman called “Cuba: the Other Side of the Story.” Sanders, no dummy, acknowledged certain deficiencies of the Cuban government (lack of civil liberties, crowded jails, food shortages, inept economic management — hey, no government’s perfect) but praises Cuba’s campaign against illiteracy, citing Cuba’s own statistics on the reduction of illiteracy. (You can understand the Cuban government’s desire to have the people be able to read — so they can follow orders.)

Another possibility is that it was Elizabeth Warren who attracted him to the Democrat Party. Warren has announced that she will have a “young trans person” interview her future Secretary of Education and only hire a person the young trans person (“TP”) approves. Okay, perhaps, but how young? Five? Ten? Youth can be attractive, of course. That innocence, that allure, captivates elderly women especially (Warren is almost 71), but also aging men (Kristol is 67). Still, wouldn’t you have thought Warren would have said that she would ask a group of young trans people to interview her candidates rather than just a single TP?

Estimates of the number of transgender kids in the US vary enormously: the figure might be as high as 150,000 — though if you offered free booze to all teens claiming to be transgender the figure might be higher. Even so, that’s a pretty small number from which to draw THE transgender child who will give THE approval for a cabinet secretary. Still, the idea is new and fresh, and may have attracted Bill Kristol.

Another defining statement of Sen. Warren is, “Abortion is now safer than getting your tonsils out.” For people who are in tune with nature and identify with all things living, that may seem a bit harsh on members of the tonsil community, more than half a million of which are terminated with extreme prejudice each year. Still, Warren is clearly ahead of the pack in being concerned about the safety of tonsils (of whatever race, color, creed, sexual identity, previous condition of servitude, or soft drink preference), and it is that concern of hers that may have attracted Kristol to the Democrat Party.

Sanders and Warren are “old,” of course — and “old” is in scare quotes because the adjective is limited solely to an arithmetical fact without any non-woke, prejudicial connotations. But there is fresh blood in the Democrat Party. Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg (no biological relation to Pete, Paul, and Mary) is only 38 years old. Even so his life has been packed with experiences that many men, of whatever gender, only dream of. And Pete’s a “family” man too: he has a “spouse,” Chasten Buttigieg (in an imaginative, new-age twist, the “husband,” Chasten Glezman, took the surname of the “wife” (Pete) — Pete’s a persuasive … guy!).

Especially noteworthy to Kristol, perhaps, is Buttigieg’s military service, which Kristol, never himself having served, may envy. Kristol may admire especially Buttigieg’s managing of the military’s uber-bureaucratic system: he became an officer without undergoing the normal years of arduous training — “no obstacle courses, no weapons training, no evaluation of his ability or willingness to lead” as some Marines have written. Just a little paperwork, a physical, a background check, and — POOF! — a brand new naval officer.

But wait. There’s more. Buttigieg himself described “working eight-hour days” at a base in Illinois as “a relaxing contrast from my day job.” And Buttigieg said that during his six months in Afghanistan, he had “more time for reflection and reading than I was used to back home.” Buttigieg wrote that while in Afghanistan he would take “a laptop and a cigar up to the roof at midnight to pick up a Wi-Fi signal and patch via Skype into a staff meeting at home.” The sangfroid! Pete’s a cool cat! And so, of course, is Bill Kristol.

Could Bill Kristol have been seduced by Mini Mike Bloomberg? That seems unlikely. Elizabeth Warren poisoned that well: “Democrats take a huge risk,” she said, “if we just substitute one arrogant billionaire for another.” Were you surprised too that the 70-year-old candidate forgot to say “white billionaire?”

Have a nice time with your new friends, Bill. We know you won’t forget to write.

If Wuflu gets worse (it will) and the economy crashes (it is) I don't see Trump winning 2020 even if he does everything right and successfully mitigates the damage. Biden may be a actual decaying corpse with his brain oozing out of his eye sockets, it won't matter. "Trump did the corona and the bad economy! Getem out!" Elections, especially American elections, are about emotions not facts. Yes this entire disaster actually proves Trump right, but at the end of the day he's going to be left holding the bag.

Such is life.

Nah, the last time an incumbent lost his re-election bid, it took more then just a temporary economic downturn to do it. It took that, plus his younger and mentally sound opponent relentlessly hammering him on economic issues while he was also dealing with a significant third-party challenger splitting the vote. Oh and the Coronavirus will likely be contained by November.

Okay, let's assume the worst of it passes by November. By November a lot of people are going to be dead and their grieving loved ones are going to be looking for someone to blame. Hard to blame a virus, easy to hate the man who "let" mom and dad die drowning in their own fluids. I also think you underestimate how bad the economy is going to get ratfucked by this thing. 2008 level disaster is the best case scenario at this point.
