Where do you find a pediatric infectious disease specialist, anyway?
I find mine at W168th St and Broadway in Manhattan but regular pediatricians are really good at treating children and childhood diseases. They aren't specialists in emerging pathogens and novel viruses. That's left to the big boys and girls at medical research institutions and they will freely admit, in public, they are playing catch up with this coronavirus. I'm not going to PL but I know surgeons and doctors socially who do research and teach and were the first to say they aren't qualified to give advice on this other than to take common sense precautions and follow CDC guidelines.

Fully expecting both Washington and NYC to enter quarantine by next Wednesday. Denver's handling it like shit, now 12 documented cases, the ski resorts are still operating, no checks at the airport, their mayor deliberately said its no big deal and the governor is a cuck letting the medical industry fuck people out of $4,500 for testing if they don't got the virus.

The fact Hancock is going ahead and allowing the Saint Patrick's Parade is retarded. Not too surprised regarding Polis, he needs more money to pay for all the free stuff he ran on, while also finding more funds to make State Employee Pay competitive since they can't back fill positions without risking his new programs and free stuff. Especially since the Dems failed to sleaze the tax payers perpetually out of their hundreds of millions of future state TABOR refunds with a complete lie on the last referendum. Since he is unwilling to ask for tax increases in the manner TABOR requires or work to amend Gallagher.

Sold tons of elderberry syrup, zinc lozenges and colloidal silver.

Colloidal silver has been getting shilled hard by woo-woo vendors. There's going to be a bunch of Smurf lookin ass niggas walking around after this is all done.

Amen. Fuckin town is ran by a bunch of exceptional individuals. Hope Vail resorts enjoys the business while it lasts. Maybe CDOT will close the tunnel and let the rich boomers have a battle royale for the last cliff bar box in Silverthorne

Here it's children's hospitals and general hospitals with a large infectious diseases department. We no longer have stand alone infectious diseases hospitals.

We currently have an ED doctor publicly calling for Sydney to be quarantined. She's way out of her lane.

I work in a supplements store in Washington and oh boy. We're concerned about if we can keep up with demand. Our immune set is pretty cleared out. Sold tons of elderberry syrup, zinc lozenges and colloidal silver. A lot of Chinese people calling and coming in asking masks and gloves. All hand sanitizer is sold out everywhere, Winco Foods was out of rice and workers stocking it were bitching about how ridiculous this is. No issues with toilet paper so far.

As a lot of people are saying, wash your hands, don't touch your face. Taking supplements can be beneficial, a really comprehensive one that people vouch for, is Source Natural's Wellness Formula. Not shilling, honest. Has a ton of immune supporting herbs in there. We have a lot of teachers and nurses who take it, it's decent stuff. Smells nasty though. Specifically for my immune system I take Lysine, vitamin C, D and zinc. If I feel funky, then some Wellness Formula. Hopefully you all keep well.

I find Christopher's Formulations to be useful, and Amazon hasn't run out as of yet

Colloidal and Nano Silver has its uses. especially if you can pair it with DSMO for localized infections. However, that doesn't mean you should drink it by the fucking shitastickly made gallon for years until you develop like a roll of black and white film.

So let's play the statistics game, with some small visuals.

Right now, the global total of kung flu infected is the size of Springfield, Illinois. Globally.

The number of dead is about the size of Bembridge on the Isle of Wright in the UK. Globally.

The Number of infected in the UK... comes out at the size of Gedney Dyke, a miniscule town in Lincolnshire, UK.

If people want it, they get it. Personally there isn't enough studies on humans, so if people ask, I just state the claims and people can make up their minds. Their minds are usually made up already. There is something there with silver, but its blown so far out of proportion. You'd really have to take a lot to turn blue. Though, depending on the PPM (parts per million) and lack of knowledge, it can happen.

An amount of homeopathic products sell really well like Oscillococcinum (duck liver) and Umka, which is a mix of different homeopathic remedies in a chewable tablet or liquid. Same feelings about it, people speak highly of it, but the "science" behind it... It doesn't hurt to take it, but there are so many better things to take that just serve multiple functions in the human body anyways. But, placebos can be a powerful thing. More fun to take, tastes like sugar.

Everyone in my family is elderly or morbidly obese. After coronavirus gets rid of them I'll finally be free. What's gonna happen to the deathfat board? After the reaping it's gonna take years for the next generation to pork up.
Fucking hell the deadfat boards gonna look like the intro to that The Stand miniseries by the end of this year...

Don't worry, the few deathfats, who survive, will compensate the lack of quantity with the quality of the overbearing smugness.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

As per Jesus, fat couch potatoes and old people with bad lungs who are just taking up space, will be cast down by covid-19 and cast into the fire?

I suppose that is one interpretation of the WORD. 🤣

Did anyone post this today?

Apparently Stephen King is politely telling folks to calm down the Wu Flu isn't The Stand. It's not Captain Tripps.

Republicans are downplaying it because they're worried about the economy affecting Trump's re-election, and Democrats are cheering on as the stock markets plummet and as the media generates mass hysteria to affect the 2020 election. All of this is a great reminder that Republican or Democrat ... Our elected representatives simply do not care about the well being of their constituents.

does it really matter why they do it when it's the sensible thing to do? people need to calm the fuck down and the economy going down shitter is the last thing you want during a crisis (real or perceived). businesses shutting down is always disruptive, when the system is already strained it's even worse.
plus you need people to keep working. goods on shelves don't materialize out of thin air, you need people to produce, transport and stock them. imagine what's gonna happen if people have to deal with 1-2 days of empty shelves.

same way I don't need the government to coddle me, it's stupid to think it cares about me, but you can bet it cares about the population at large simply out of self-interest. if that self-interest is personal or political, does it really make a difference?
plus, if people think they can't depend on the government, why didn't they prepare for it? get supplies, bunker down (not necessary unabomber style, but it will reduce your potential exposure to almost zero) and wait till it blows over. even the best government can't help you immediately in times of need, even less if you're not the the only one who needs help, it's mathematical impossible, so you always have to take care of yourself for some time.
there are some thing they simply can't to without going full china and locking everybody in their houses because tards will run around and infect others even when they should know better.

This thread is moving so fast so I might be late:

In 4 weeks we will also be into the warmer Spring Weather in much of North America, and we will start to see if some of the theories about this behaving a bit like SARS or a Seasonal Flu are correct, and if it doesn't like the warmer seasons.

Christian Droste, head-honcho of the virology department of the Charité in Berlin, said that the impact of warm weather might not be as high as we hope. It's not going to disappear. He thinks there will be a huge outbreak in fall.

Anyways, right now we have over 1200 infections (it's stupid that they only name administrative districts and not actual cities), 2 deaths (89 and 78 ) and a couple thousand people in isolation. It's going to be everywhere in a week.
We have the highest number of hospitals per citizen in the world, or something like that, but that still is not enough if we don't have enough protective gear (sorry Swiss stay mad) and medical personal falls ill themselves. Not to mention that we do have a shortage of certain prescription meds.

Our Minister of Health wants to cancel events ( > 1,000 people) and everyone is like "Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh, nooooooooo, maybe we should wait a little longer?" Lmao, what the fuck is wrong with this country? There was a huge event one town over on the weekend (25,000 people) and I am just waiting for the first cases to pop up around me.

Stolen from the dude with 4 chins

Apparently they have to do triage in Italy and have to choose who they can save and who will have to die.

English subtitles on the linked video - https://files.catbox.moe/3ns6c1.mp4

TWO DOCTORS FROM LOMBARDY DETAIL HOW FUCKING DEVASTATING CORONA-CHAN IS
>20 YEAR OLDS WITH HORRIBLE PNEUMONIAS
>EVERYONE OVER 60 LEFT TO DIE
>EACH HOSPITAL HANDLES 50 PNEUMONIAS A DAY
>NOT ENOUGH RESPIRATORS EVEN FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Transcript from that Whatsapp call is now available - https://pastebin.com/RB1TZEF1

Transcript of two WhatsApp audio files from Lombardy, epicenter of the COVID19 outbreak

Doctor 1, male:

Guys, here's the status.

They closed down entire wards, reduced the number of beds in traditional wards,

They stopped all operations, closed all clinics so they could call in all GPs so they can come in and be COVID ward doctors.

They come in every day, exponentially.

They tripled ICU beds. They wanted to close our CICU, I don't know how many were closed.

So, even the STEMI heart attack network was closed. They're decentering everything.

Niguarda hospital is bursting, it's got 30 COVIDs in ICU.

All resuscitations are full, they're thinking about a triaging number…

of ICUs to distribute the beds and decide who to intubate, and who to let die.

They don't have COVID patients in Cardiology yet,

But COVID is very devious to identify,

Because you don't notice, you don't spot them. We had a cardiogenic shock in the CICU, for 5 days.

EPA scan, and yesterday - after I did it every day - the infectologist didn't say shit.

The radiologist - "stasis and pulmonary circulation congested"

I phoned the radiologist and said "listen, in my opinion he's got pneumonia" - and he had it.

Now they tested him, but he's surely a COVID patient, I'm willing to bet.

You can't recognize it, but most of all…

You have no idea - they don't say this on TV

of how many YOUNG people, I mean even 20 years old, need CPAP and have HORRIBLE pneumonias, with no comorbidities.

How many 70s-born have pneumonias. A TON. It's unimaginable.

Doctors aren't even - there aren't even any devices - even quarantined or screened with a test anymore.

They tell you "If you had a contact but with no symptoms, come at work. If you have symptoms, you get the decision to work or stay home."

It's TRAGIC. Now they're hiring all non-specialized med graduates from Policlinico for exempla - that's where my girlfriend is -

At Policclinico there's only one out of three or four wings that is not for COVID patients. 50 pneumonias expected A DAY. The situation is dramatic, and people don't know.

We absolutely need people to understand this.

Doctor Martina:

Hello everyone - ladies, gentlemen, I don't know, but Cate asked me to send her an audio message explaining what's happening.

My name is Martina, her cousin, cardiologist in intensive care, Milan,

So, the situation is very serious, in the sense that this circulating virus is extremely contagious.

It's true, some have no symptoms, some come through without too many problems, but it's also true that a lot of people develop what's called a bilateral interstitial pneumonia

that, fundamentally, needs assisted breathing. We don't have drugs, as antibiotics don't work against viruses,

We're giving them a cocktail of drugs used against viruses like AIDS, but experimentally - we don't know if they'll work or not.

The only thing you can do in these cases is intubate the patient, so as to make the machine breathe, rest the lungs, waiting for his immune system to defeat it.

It's true, most deaths are old with existing conditions but there's a lot of young people in the ICUs - our youngest is 38 with no comorbidities.

The real problem is that a lot of people need assisted breathing, and there are not enough ventilators for everybody.

Already yesterday I got a call - I'm in intensive care in cardiology - asking for one of my ventilators - we only have two now.

I gave it to them, and one patient that went out of intensive care the day before,

Normally in these cases you keep the ventilator near, because they can go into a crisis and need to be re-intubated - if she does, there's no ventilator there.

Fundamentally they told us starting from now we'll have to choose who to intubate, priority going to the young or no comorbitities,

At the Niguarda, the other big hospital, they don't intubate people older than 60, which is really, really young

So the situations is very serious, it's very contagious - 14 days of completely asymptomatic incubation, and can infect an incredible amount of people,

So the concept is the only way for it to not be a massacres is to have the least amount of infected, and if they are, for them to be on a long time scale.

That way, if I have 10,000 people who need ventilators infected all at the same time, we have 3,000 in Italy and 7,000 die.

If I can slow down the contagion, when the new people get sick, presumably the old will have freed the ventilator for them.

The only thing you can do are the things they're already saying: stay home, true, no cinemas, no exhibits, no walks, few malls as possible, closed school, no soccer in the evening, no dinners outside,

Avoid contact with other people as much as possible, wash your hands, soap works, so do alcohol solutions,

The virus resist on surfaces a bit for 30-40 minutes, the only way to clear surely is washing with bleach and leaving bleach on contact for 30 minutes,

Fundamentally, you guys in Rome are like we were in Milan 10 days ago, and really, in 10 days there was an incredible escalation,

Lombardy collapsing when it's the best in healthcare terms, so I don't dare think what would happen in less efficient regions.

Children; no grave cases, there are some positives, but like with all viruses (chickenpox, measles), if they get it it's much less aggressive than adults,

But they're crazy carriers, because the kid gets it with no symptoms, he goes to his grandparents, and fundamentally kills them. So avoid contact between them.

So, no panic but you can't underestimate this. If you can, stay home and don't meet anyone. If you have questions, I'm here, still going to the hospital and I will keep you up to date through Cate on the situation.
