Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

It's not as deadly as SARS or MERS and It's not as bad as SARS or MERS mean basically the same thing.
Again, COVID-19 has vastly outmatched both the number of infections and number of deaths from both SARS and MERS combined. So clearly COVID-19 is far worse than SARS or MERS, despite having a lower mortality rate. You were framing this in the context of hospital capacity, so you're just objectively wrong. The entire concern with COVID-19 has been due to its transmissibility, and thus ability to incapacitate huge numbers of people.

25% of patients needing intensive care and one in four cases going severe and requiring hospitalization for two to three weeks also mean pretty much the same. Is English not your first language?
Did you not understand my point? The woman you were quoting was emphasizing the severity & dangerousness of the virus. 25% of patients needing intensive care is serious.

Garrett said COVID-19 "is comparatively less deadly than either SARS or MERS" or in other words coronavirus is not as lethal when you compare it against SARS or MERS. Whatever, our Mayor is going full CCP as he's getting inmates at Rikers ready to dig graves for over 50,000 expected corpses once contingency plans are put into effect.

Eh? That's an x to doubt.

Most graves these days aren't dug by people. They're usually dug by excavators because it's faster. Regulations on workers being allowed down into holes is also another reason for it. It'd be arguably less productive to have humans doing it by hand. Even a small low power tractor with excavator attachment would be faster tgan a bunch o' guys with a shovel Then you've got regulations on grave depth and number of bodies. Handling of bodies. Unless it's gone full medieval bodies in the streets bring out your dead levels this is pointless.

I don't see them kitting out a bunch of prisoners with heavy equipment. You need training for that shit and, in Canada at least, a special license.

Vietnam has temporarily suspended visa exemptions for citizens of these countries:
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Sweden
  • United Kingdom
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Norway
Countries with more than 500 confirmed cases of COVID-19, or more than 50 new cases per day, can also expect to have visa exemptions to Vietnam suspended at this time. Vietnam may refuse to grant visas to travellers showing symptoms of COVID-19.

With special exceptions only, all travellers arriving from and who have transited through mainland China, Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk within the past 14 days will be refused entry to Vietnam at this time.

As I've been following the rate this disease has been growing at the last couple of months. Just seeing the market shock set in over the last week, along with cases beginning to pop up in North America just makes me more mortified on how dreadfully under prepared we where for this virus. We had a 2 month lead on the Chinese, at least to map out the logistics of how this disease was going to be handled. Seeing the inadequate amount of information MSM has provided isn't that much of a shocker, because this has been getting suppressed since it's origin back when the virus started to circulate.

I am 100% convinced that this was a synthesized variant of SARS that was still in clinical trials, but got "accidentally" leaked by a few scientists that were not careful enough after being attacked by those genetically modified bats. CCP has always been a clown show, but the utter incompetence is yet to be matched by the POTUS. I can say the president is taking the appropriate measures to counteract the hysteria around this, and I can say that certain elements are somewhat blown out of proportion. Though still, the range of critical care patients that have ended up getting inflected with the illness laying to about ~15-20% is still pretty high.

Considering the logarithmic distribution, would be safe to say in about 3-4 months from now we are going to be capping 150 million people infected, that is just my mental math at work. I haven't actually sat down and tabulated any numbers quite yet, just based on watching the trends over the last couple of months. The manner which this virus transmitted, with the long lasting impact made on infected patients isn't remotely understood quite yet. If anything, for any type of real vaccine to be developed safe to say it's going to take a couple of years for the properties of COV-19 to be actually understood. My worry is once a more aggressive strain mutates because of the transmittable nature of this virus. The other thing is that looking at the stats, people that have compromised immune systems, along with having other underlying issues with their cardiovascular and or respiratory systems would find themselves falling into intensive care much quicker than say someone in relatively moderate health. Fatality rate would be more realistic at 1%, but the 3-4% number wouldn't shock me considering the current trends of the disease.

Another thing to also consider is the market shock this has caused, and the element that there is a possibility of a recession type scenario after the bubble burst. Seeing the almost 8% drop over the last 24 hours, it's not very reassuring that the global economy is going to swiftly recover all of that quickly. Considering the rippling effect that this drop is going to cause in the coming days and weeks, I can safely say that the price war has only just begun.

I wouldn't endorse the manner of panicking, but being aware of the consequences of this viral outbreak. I loved the analogy that @JosephStalin used earlier on in the thread of using the knowledge to better equip yourself in dealing with this type of scenario in your local day to day life. For any type of phenomenon, Chinese bat piss flu or not, I still wouldn't look at this as the apocalypse by any means. Enough sperging for me now, time to go suck on some 🦇 tits to make myself immune.

Not that I usually have much to offer, but I heard something interesting:
Word from a reliable source in Australia is that the government is shifting gears internal to their health system.

What's relevant for watchers in this thread is that they're attempting to turn weekly submission of emergency department tracking data into a daily stream, along with adding additional tracking for Coronavirus - but the people at hospitals are definitely not prepared for this sort of thing. Apparently this sort of change is usually negotiated over the course of several years, but this decision was made over just a few days.

Normally they'd have time to double-check their figures and make sure the paperwork wasn't lost in the daily rush of hospital work. The only way they're going to get data daily is by dropping much of the QA on the figures. Expect fuckery and shifting numbers with an eye towards 'eventual consistency'. Not from any coverup, but from people in the bureaucracy prioritizing immediate speed over full accuracy.

So. Spain news time. Sadly they're being combined with today's. Which are way more irritating. Let me start with the fun. So, the WHO spokesperson, in what I guess had to be a gaffe because absolutely everyone is mocking her but certainly betrays what her message has been so far (the only gaffe being that she couldn't pretend to be this obvious about it) has proclaimed "we should consider the advantages of more authoritative systems". Fucking kek! I love that this happened because as I told you last time WHO has been launching a hardcore campaign of rumor mongering and trust erasure and now noone can talk about them without bursting into chuckles even amongst the more globalist side of the media. So thank you WHO for betraying your agenda, you're a laughing stock, and now everyone knows it.

On another chuckleworthy instance. The school got closed in madrid. Now that's not the fun part. Fun part is as parents still have jobs they've sent the kids to their grandparents, who as is traditiln have decided it's a great moment to take their grandsons to the park... fucking boomers! Best part is I can't even tell if they don't know why this puts them at risk or they just stopped giving a fuck about staying alive at this point. I guess you can't kill what's already dead inside. Also this brought us this glorious meme:
IMG-20200309-WA0009.jpg

Translation "1st day with the kids home vs 3rd day with the kids home."

On less funny news. Certain select hospitals on high risk areas have cancelled all non-emergency functions and started preparing for corona. Said non-emergency functions have been sent to other hospitals, even sending people to other communities if they have family members there and can get vacations. Which of course has given us a lot of "OI you can't use healthcare turism you're already spanish!" Memes.

The business councel has seriously tried joining WHO in praising germany and china just to throw dirt on the government. Everyone already hated them (the right for being globalists, the left for being vulture capitalists), so as you can imagine all this has resulted in is everyone making memes out of their stupid ass. Thank god for memes.

Also, we finally got the first wave of doompreppers on madrid. Here's a video.

And of fucking course if you check when he goes near the sauce you can see the parts they emptied are the PERISHABLES. I asked on the groups for anyone of madrid to corroborate and indeed they confirmed the canned food area is almost fully stocked. OI NUTTERS! READ A BOOK! I swear I needed these laughs at this point.

Other than that many virologists have joined Fernando Simon's campaign of information to counter the Business Council and WHO and it seems to be working, they're doing a good job of making sure everyone knows what's going on and what's being done about it and keeping morale decently hight.

The more infuriating part comes from the audios, but I haven't been able to insert them. So we'll see tonight, on the meantime a small spoiler. The Gypsies have gone full chink. Includint spitting on ICU HOSPITAL DOORHANDLES and trying to steal material of said hospitals to make a buck out of corona. Which, well, they've been bitching about Muh Racism forever, see what's coming for you assholes now. On the meantime amongst a new wave of regulations to keep assholes controlled hospitals now only allow 1 visitor per patient simultaneously. If a second one wants to enter the first needs to go first. So security can keep an eye on the bastards.

Also here's a joke that's been shared around on private groups related to healthcare and medical research:
1: oh man with this quarantine the government's sending workers home I sure hope we can get some vacations!
2: mate we're not getting vacations.
1: what?! Why not?
2: We work at the hospital!

And we also got a lot of memes being shared around that just said "recorded audio of teachers mourning the closure of education in madrid" and then link noise from raves. Again, thank god for memes.

Are other EU countries going to help Italy at all? I thought the idea of a union is cohesiveness and friendliness.
Where's the EU assistance when countries are in need? Because for Wuhan, the rest of the country can just send them shit and people to help.

Is the EU and/or EU countries going to do anything at all? Or all they care is farming tax money and trying to make some kind of collated army, oh don't forget combating Twitter "hate speech".
I'm actually curious. Surely third time's the charm, 2 world wars have been lost already FFS.

You misunderstood the purpose of the EU. All EU countries "help" france and germany. Everyone else are just colonies, the EU won't move a finger if they collapse.

Welp, 3 days to Dallas wedding time. Hope this doesn't become Masque of the Red Coof.

Edit
Ask the South Korean Christian cult.

If you live NEAR CLEVELAND and see a JEW, it is PROBABLY a GOOD idea to stay the FUCK away.
Red zone is Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, South Euclid, and Beachwood

I work in a supplements store in Washington and oh boy. We're concerned about if we can keep up with demand. Our immune set is pretty cleared out. Sold tons of elderberry syrup, zinc lozenges and colloidal silver.

Not shilling, honest. Has a ton of immune supporting herbs in there. We have a lot of teachers and nurses who take it, it's decent stuff. Smells nasty though. Specifically for my immune system I take Lysine, vitamin C, D and zinc.

Y'all say whatever about homeopathy and colloidal silver, but leave the elderberry out if it.

That stuff is the real deal. But infants & young children who benefit most from it (along with the elderly) when used on an emergency basis. With normal adults, the most it seems to do is take the edge off.

And speaking from personal experience, turmeric is heap big medicine against inflammation.... but not in the little caps sold in supplement shops.

You gotta megadose turmeric; either by brewing it up by the tablespoon as a broth (with fresh cloves, black pepper, & cinnamon, of course); or with the turmeric extracts/tinctures.

And when I say megadose, I mean to the point of almost turning a delightful shade of Bad Man Orange. You'll know you're in the neighborhood when piss starts looking like Fanta, and your shit stains the bowl orange.

Perhaps Trump in his utter stupidity will order vaccine "rushed" into distribution before side effects are known and it turns the infected into zombies.

The way the EU and USA can help is by agreeing to shut down the global economy for 4 weeks and order the world into quarantine. That won't happen so we will get whats happening in Italy to various countries for the next 8 months and the Global Economy will simply default because of the piece-meal approach. China WILL get a new peak if it opens it's economy again. No question.

I'm no EU lover, but what do you even want them to do? Almost every EU countries are badly prepared to a pandemic because of incompetence and stupidity.

What can they actually do? Send drugs? There's no treatment. Send masks and hand sanitizers? It's out of stock everywhere.
Take the infected from Italy and treat them in their own hospitals? So that it can spread even more and paralyze their domestic healthcare system?

Another thing they could do is if the country needs to go on lockdown for a month the government can order all mortgages and rents to not be paid that month and allow property owners and banks to use it as a tax write off or even a credit on next years taxes. That would be far more useful then just cutting everyone a check.
That's what the Italian government is trying to do, there should be another presidential decree by tomorrow. However, without the support (and permission) from the EU we cannot do much, especially because of our already existent huge debt.

Speaking of Europe. Forgive me but the more time goes by, the more I get pissed off and MATI so get your hats ready.

Where the fuck is the European Union? Where is the Central Bank? Where is the support from the institutions? Giorgia Meloni, the leader of Fratelli d'Italia, a true far-right proto-fascist party, whom I despise entirely, actually said something absolutely correct: how is it possible that the EU hasn't a protocol in place for pandemics or epidemics such as this? It almost physically hurt me when I heard Meloni interviewed and I agreed with everything she said.

By the way, I'd like to send a personal fuck you to all other European governments and media (mind you, not to their citizens). We can see you looking at Italy with contempt, sneering at our handling of the situation, as if just because you think you're better than us you're immune. Bitch, you think you don't have the virus, Macron? You think Germans do not actually know that there are more infected and dead people, Merkel? Italy and Italians know we're scumbags but at least we own it and when needed we can be transparent. I hope for the sake of other countries that they can learn from our experience and take precautions and actions in time so that the situation doesn't have to get as bad as ours is at the moment.

If the European Union doesn't act like a real union in times of crisis, when will it do it?

Folks, don't worry, the orgies will go on as planned:
It's like they want a Biblical plague to wipe them out.
Jeremiah 23:14
"But in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his evil; all of them have become like L.A. to me, and its inhabitants like NYC.”
