Pope is hellbent on getting priests infected.
What better way to support medical staff and volunteers than making the situation worse.

God I hate this Pope.

I was disappointed that it was reported he was tested negative for Corona. Pedo defenders should get what they fucking deserve.

Yeah, man. You know how many retirees you can purge this way? The catholic church really caring about the economy here. This pope's the MVP!
~WHO, probably.

St Patricks Day parade in Belfast is now cancelled.

Imagine caring more about the healthcare of the population than the economy and canceling yearly traditions than bring tons of turists to areas with poor ICUs. Weeeeeeak.
~WHO, probably.

NYC up to 25 cases.

Dem some weak ass numbers for a city that big! Honestly testing is probably garbage so I wouldn't trust them. Do stay safe. I wouldn't trust il douche with proper information... actually I wouldn't trust the USA in general given how the CDC has botched it.

St Charles Borromeo, nephew of Pius IV, Archbishop of Milan (1563-84), closed churches but offered Mass in the open gave Communion to plague victims. Anyhow, the Church always recommended exhausting medical solutions first while praying always. Bergoglio is only doubtfully a priest, so never likely consecrated anything. He'd cry if it was suggested there might be less musclely migrant youths.

That leftoid schemer, Hillary-Obama fakePope should be ignored.

Here. It isn't an iron though.

I wouldn't bother with it. Like I said in an earlier post, use a somewhat diluted restaurant degreaser. It will break down the cell walls of viruses. Then mist with a 10% bleach solution, leave on for 10 seconds then towel dry.
These "disinfectant" UV lights, will use UV-C light - something you shouldn't use carelessly.
I got a UV-C bulb. It's good for getting rid of smells in a room since they produce lots of ozone but they're not a good replacement for a disinfectant you can quickly spray on shit.

For one it only works well on smooth surfaces, something like textiles has many places where the light won't reach.
Second, it's nasty. Do not confuse it with normal UV light. Looking at it with your bare eyes for longer will make you feel like you have sand in your eyes for days. It can also cause skin cancer. In addition, the ozone it generates is a good disinfectant but it's not healthy either.

This is something you use in a enclosed space with no living being in it.

Just been informed by a relative who works there that the first case of Corona is now in an isolation pod on a ward in my local hospital. No word on age or where they contracted it but I bet it's yet another twit who just had to have their Italian holiday. They're being served on disposable plates and cup too, everything to avoid anything they touch getting to the kitchens or elsewhere.

Also an English version of the Austrian ban on Italians:

Three new cases in Poland, all three traced back to Italy (of course), for a total of 21 now. While measures are being actively introduced and response seems to be overall better than many other European states, there are still three things I'd expect our government to do:

-Close all schools for a time, since children appear to be the primary vector of unnoticed spread of infections
-Extend hospitalization, quarantine and monitoring time to three weeks. Some research indicates 14 days isn't enough
-Start testing more people. We should have the capabilities. Laboratories are slowly revving up (250 samples tested yesterday as opposed to 100-150 before), but we could use more.

Edit: whoopsie daisy, one of our top military staff caught Corona-chan in Germany. That's case 22, I guess. Scratch that, case 18 described earlier actually counts among these three. So we're still at 21, I guess. As usual apologies for the confusion. News outlets keep giving contradictory information and outdated numbers. Gotta be more alert.

To lighten the mood:

Kitty is now guarding the overflow / extras shelf.

Not even Brunei is safe.

Malaysia is still rather slow on the uptake, but we're definitely seeing an explosion of cases now.

Realistically...how safe would someone in lets say rural Appalachia be? Powerleveling I know.

That depends entirely on whether you feed your moonshine still with home grown taters or ones you buy at Wal-Mart. Which reminds me: I remember my uncle dropping by my house when I was a kid back in home country trying to raid all my cupboards for hard candy because him and my grammy needed it to make samogon. Grammy used to have a still running in her kitchen...in her 12th story apartment in the center of town. Didn't realize that it wasn't normal to have a grandma cooking moonshine on the stove top until I was well into my twenties. To her credit though she was really good at it and never fucked anything up. I remember a large metal pot that used 3 stove top burners at a time. It had a hose coming out of the top that was sealed with putty that would slowly drip clear liquid into a jar.

You can take the granny out of the methnostate, but you can't take the methnostate out of the granny.

Nobody is asking for get well soon cards. Everybody knows that quarantine is needed. I think that the first mistake was not closing all borders in the whole continent sooner, honestly.

So if I can confirm your position: you think that the moment there were a handful of cases of a disease that so far looks to be approximately on the level of the seasonal flu, Western governments should have shut down airlines, caused disruption on a level not seen in decades, panic buying, forced confinement and travel restrictions and a market crash. You seem to have no conception of balancing risk.

Unless the governments know something major we do not, the reactions so far seem to have been pretty balanced.

By the time half of the world was flying everyone out of China, it was already known that an outbreak was happening and the disease wasn't just a flu. So much for containment.

I just said "sooner", I didn't say to close the borders January 1st when the first few cases from China were being talked about. They could have been closed on a European level maybe a week ago, something like that. For sure I wouldn't have allowed fucking cruise ships to sail around the world.
