Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Earlier today, I was at a supermarket and as I was arriving, I saw some guy leaving with a cart stacked higher than he was. According to a friend of mine who works at the store he just hit, he had bought fifty whole cases - some 2000 or so bottles - of hand santizer. Idly curious, I followed him to his SUV from a safe distance, only to see that he had what must have been hundreds of cases of the shit, as well as rubbing alcohol, disinfectant spray, and so on. The dude had to have strip-mined every shop in Commack for that much, and he clearly intended to scalp it all.

I know that as a virus, none of that shit will protect against the Wu Flu, but there's a special place in hell reserved for people who do this shit. Not just because it won't help anyone, not just because it ensures people who do actually need that shit will go without, but because ultimately, it denies basic fucking cleaning and medical supplies to untold numbers of people so some mongoloid can try to eke some money out of the desperate.
Pray to Coronachan that it gets worse.
That way, you can just lynch the bastard and take his stuff without being arrested.

Sweden is up to 461 cases now, I've heard there is at least one suspected case in my area leading to some shutdowns of schools.

"The infected are between 0 to 84 years old" and 55% of the infected are men, we are a progressive country after all.

Hungarian goverment is starting to freak out after the opposition has been freaking out for some time.

Media somewhat nervous, local population still utterly sure that it can not hurt whites. Italians are considered browns here.

15 confirmed cases, mostly Iranians students under police enforced quarantine. Muslims scum of course tried to escape the hospital.

National emergency declared country wide, not seen since the fall of the previous ruling Union.
Ban on large gatherings (100 indours, 500 outdoors) and universities, cinemas and the snob favourites, theatres.

Elementary and High schools are still open and will remain so unless a child gets sick or further developments of such nature. This is expected to happen in a week or two.

Reasoning is that the virus appears less dangerous to kids, they would have to repeat the school year, they would go outdoors if sent home.

Religious ceremonies are not yet banned, but like schools this is expected to change when the situation gets worse.

The article is autistically worded, and either Schengen is suspended, or it is suspended towards Slovenia and Austria. (It states that Schengen is suspended including Austria and Slovenia too.) Another article cleared it up, only Italy and Slovenia effected.

Also, no Chinese, Iranians or Italians allowed into Hungary. Hungarians returning get the 2 week quarantine.
They are also watching for roundabout ways like China-France-Hungary or Italy-Austria-Hungary routes.

Politically, Orban loves sports and economy, especially the taxes it makes.
But he always had a good sense as to what to do in emergencies, he reacted first to the migrants too. He already said that the economy will take a solid hit, so I hope he is trying to prep people for tough measures.

Also please take the bread recipes to the cooking thread. Plus rice lasts way longer than flour and is less appetising to mice and most bugs.
I love how the Hungarian government handled this. Straight out ban on the biggest hotspots. If Australia did this, our labor party controlled socialist media would be moaning about racism and blahblahblah ad nauseam. We just let in a bunch of international students from China and Iran, fucks sake this is bad.

Though the "pure Aryans (ehhh, Slavs?) can't get the virus" thing is pretty dumb. I like how Italians are considered brown, because Chinaland thinks they are middle Easterners.
Hope there's enough masks.

Word on the street: The Wu-Flu only kills the Boomers and Silents who you actually want to spend time with. It is especially deadly to the ones with cool military stories to share, and for those who are great cooks, and bring us hot meals when we are sick. Those who are generous with their pocket books, and who are a loving and accepting presence in our lives should start making funeral arrangements.

Unfortunately, there appears to be a relationship between being a nasty, greedy, judgmental, demanding and manipulative cunt, old age, and heightened immunity to just about everything.

So sorry about that. Grandma will be back to her old self, in no time.

How about a nuclear war?
This is why we need to send all of our cool old kiwis like uncle joe (+ their families) to a remote wilderness cabin town where they can chill and live off the land until it all blows over. I'd send @Jet Fuel Johnny there too but i have a feeling he's gonna be fine on his and his family's own and would just shoot me if I tried to relocate him.

Hopefully it'll clean out malmo

Has anyone seen the Indian Wells scandal? This is just ridiculous, I totally agree that measures must be taken to prevent the virus from spreading, but announcing everyone that you cancel a major event a few hours before is just a dementedly stupid move.

Time to rant! Situation in spain shit the bed. If you are in madrid GET THE FUCK OUT NOW. No it's not 'cause corona you need to get out 'cause the mayor's an idiot!

So after Sanchez shat the bed by backstabbing Italy and the populace reacted by rightfully calling him the spineless traitor he is the PSOE has gone full fearmonger to try to save face, and now they say they want to quarantine madrid, completely, from land and air. Further the right has decided to fearmonger even harder, because god forbid we don't have a dick measuring contest for once. For once however the right isn't dangerous, they're creating a needless panic but not actually taking any actions for real so they're areas are fine outside of the doompreppers. On the good side, now the business council has pretty much been told to shut the fuck up and sit on the corner with the dunce cap so hey that's one less source of annoyance for us.

Yeah, remember when I wondered what kinda parallel universe had I woken up in where the political caste didn't suck? We'll seems I woke up in my usual universe this time. Kinda hoping I can go back to that one, things weren't shit in that universe, I liked that.

Anyway. Thing with madrid is, as I explained before, they are the one part of spain that can actually hurt if it escalates. Their air is bad, their density excessive, and their traffic stressing as fuck because while other cities have roundabouts madrid is a roundabout with a city in it... I'm not kidding btw to solve its shit ass circulation they built the M30, a giant roundabout highway surrounding the city all traffic comes from and diverts to. Which has helped the time it takes to get to places but also exhacerbated the number of accidents and stress epidemic, and as someone who lived there for a time I can see why, the idea of "giant highway roundabout around the city" should not need to be developped to know why it sucks!

Anyway, point is, they're surrounded by rural areas with reinforced healthcare systems. The prior idea to send non emergencies there was the right one, it made sense, it worked and even if an outbreak happens it's much easier to cordon anywhere else, spain is low density, we can stop villages much more easily. Now you'd think that since the idea is good, has been shown to qork in the past. It's part of the protocol and is the only way to save the most lives the government would just keep doing it. Well we'll have to see! I know for a fact the ISCIII is begging them to not be morons and not quarantine the city. But the PSOE ARE morons, that's their defining trait. So if you're on madrid, take vacations now. I'll update with wether or not they actually do it. The south is still great and I still recomend coming here. Shit's smooth as always. That's precisely why screwing over the areas that can't take it is so moronic. A little solidarity goes a long way. We were raised under that principle. Seems our politicians weren't. And I find that fact disgusting. Specially when the actual spread of corona hasn't worsened at all, in fact in the northern outbreak it's gotten relatively better (still growing but more slowly than expected), so they're just doommongering and going full moron to try and save face because they realized that, as I told you before, spaniards don't stand by when people need help. And we don't take kindly when our government forces us to. And now they need an excuse.

That sounds chaotic.

Do you know anything about the situation in Talavera, and Toledo as a whole?

When will the Sub-Saharan floodgates burst open and bone zone the continent?
Racism and hate speech is a bigger threat! To combat racism and hate speech towards the Chinks, let's let in 3 million "refugees" from Africa!
It it were 2012, I'd laugh at this Onion article; but it's 2020, it could totally be a headline.

Maybe instead of being silent and whinging to some stupid MSM shit, explain to them that you travelled from Bongistan, not China.... maybe?
So is it that bad to assume now, that Chinaman in airport, travelled from China?
Holy this. This article is unreal.

Oh and bat soup is indeed not a Chinese thing, it's Indonesian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd4cKFwm1cQ
Nonetheless, it's offered in some places.

Go whine me a river. A scientist? Look up ways to grow thicker skin.

I'd argue rice is a good staple anyway. It lasts forever, it's cheap as fuck, and if you get the enriched kind it has a good amount of nutrients. It's a good replacement for something like bread in your diet, which doesn't have a very long shelf life. see also: dry pasta.

tbh I'm not sure how can you not like rice anyway, it barely has a flavor. but pro-tip if you somehow don't like rice: try cooking it in a broth or curry powder, so it absorbs it while it cooks.
(disclaimer: i might be biased because I love rice, idk)

Adding to the spergery here, but yeah, I'm not sure why someone would criticize people for buying rice. That's like criticizing someone for buying pasta, oats, or other cheap nonperishable staples. And who the fuck doesn't like rice? Americans use rice as a side dish or to bulk up recipes all the time; it's not just an Asian thing. Uncle Ben's, Rice-a-Roni, Success, Zatarain's, all that shit has been around for ages, plain or salted/seasoned.

tl,dr: Carbs are god. Rice is good.

The post I made about 1300 new cases?
Yeah about that:
2313 NEW CASES AND 196 NEW DEATHS, RAISING TOTAL TO 12.462 CASES AND 827 DEATHS
About 600 new cases can be ascribed to the previous day's delay in reporting

I'm amazed they managed to squeak this out considering they're too busy at war with the troons at the moment.

The most pragmatic thing is to set up for working from home if it’s possible to do so. It’s more likely you will lose money and work hours to this rather than run out of toilet paper or whatever. I you catch this thing you are definitely going to end up missing at least a week of work, regardless of what the mortality rate is.

In a small firm I work at IT has been tasked to ramp up Remote Working capabilities because management is preparing for when people need to stay at home for up to 2 weeks.

Budget 2020: Chancellor pumps billions into economy to combat coronavirus

The chancellor says his 2020 Budget offers the “largest sustained fiscal boost for nearly 30 years”

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has unveiled a £30bn package to boost the economy and get the country through the coronavirus outbreak.

He is suspending business rates for many firms in England, extending sick pay and boosting NHS funding.

In his first Budget speech, he warned of a "significant" but temporary disruption to the UK economy but vowed: "We will get through this together."

The Bank of England has announced an emergency cut in interest rates.

Mr Sunak, who was promoted to chancellor just four weeks ago after Sajid Javid quit the government, has had to hastily re-write the government's financial plans to deal with coronavirus.

"We are doing everything we can to keep this country and our people healthy and financially secure," he told MPs.

Of the £30bn in extra spending, £12bn will be specifically targeted at coronavirus measures, including at least £5bn for the NHS in England and £7bn for business and workers across the UK.

This is on top of other spending pledges that will amount to £18bn next year, and even more in following years.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) said extra spending on government departments and investment represented the biggest Budget "giveaway" since 1992.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he welcomed many of the measures to "head off the impact" of coronavirus, which has now been labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

But he said the extra money for the NHS was "too little, too late" and the UK was going into the crisis with its public services "on their knees" after years of Conservative cuts.

Measures to mitigate the effect of the coronavirus outbreak include:

  • Statutory sick pay for "all those who are advised to self-isolate" even if they have not displayed symptoms
  • Business rates for shops, cinemas, restaurants and music venues in England with a rateable value below £51,000 suspended for a year
  • A £500m "hardship fund" to be given to local authorities in England to help vulnerable people in their areas
  • A "temporary coronavirus business interruption loan scheme" for banks to offer loans of up to £1.2m to support small and medium-sized businesses
  • The government will meet costs for businesses with fewer than 250 employees of providing statutory sick pay to those off work because of coronavirus
  • Plans to make it quicker and easier to get benefits for those on zero hours contracts
  • Benefit claimants who have been advised to stay at home will not have to physically attend job centres
The number of coronavirus cases in the UK reached 460 on Wednesday, with a sixth person confirmed to have died after contracting the virus.

The chancellor said that without accounting for the impact of coronavirus, the Office for Budget Responsibility has forecast growth of 1.1% in 2020, the slowest rate since 2009.

Despite speculation that he would ditch the framework on spending set by predecessor Mr Javid, Mr Sunak said his Budget is delivered "not just within the fiscal rules of the manifesto but with room to spare".

The chancellor has scrapped a planned cut in corporation tax and scaled back a tax break for entrepreneurs, saving £6bn over the next five years.

The spending in this Budget is being largely paid for with a big increase in government borrowing.

Big increases in borrowing
1583950022735.png

The government expects to borrow almost £100bn more in this Parliament (before mid-2024) than was expected the last time we had any forecasts.

And that figure does not include £12bn to be spent on getting the economy through the coronavirus outbreak.

The Treasury documents say that money will be accounted for in the next Budget in the autumn.

In other Budget measures, the chancellor announced that fuel duty would be frozen for another year.

A planned increase in spirits duty will be cancelled and duties for cider and wine drinkers in England will be frozen as well, but a packet of 20 cigarettes will cost 27p more.

The so-called tampon tax will be abolished, and VAT on books, newspapers, magazines and academic journals will be scrapped from 1 December.

And the chancellor pledged to more than double spending on UK government research and development by 2024.

The chancellor announced more than £600bn for road, rail, housing and broadband projects over five years, aimed at delivering on the Conservatives' election promise to boost economic growth outside of London and the south-east of England.

He announced plans for Treasury offices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and a "new economic campus in the north, with over 750 staff from the Treasury".

He also promised an additional £640m for the Scottish government, £360m for the Welsh government, £210m for the Northern Ireland executive and £240m for new city and growth deals.

Mr Sunak said he was providing £200m for local communities in England to build flood resilience and would double investment in flood defences.

The chancellor will deliver another Budget in the Autumn, with measures aimed at preparing the UK economy for post-Brexit trading arrangements with the EU.

Figures released by the Office for National Statistics found that the UK economy did not grow at all in January.

Yeah I haven't seen it heavily associated unless I really look for it. I googled "heart rate covid-19" like a sperg.

I've been sick for like over a month and was told I had bronchitis a while back. I haven't been sleeping much/eating well because I've been catching up on work, so I guess that doesn't help. It def used to be worse but I still have a consistent low-grade fever & a cough.

edit:
You're in the UK, ring up your GP and ask them.

Edit: I'm not a doctor but it sounds like low electrolytes or a glucose crash, however you have that amazing NHS that doesn't spend millions a year on marketing like "I ❤ the NHS" so use it.
