My mother works at my old high school and there's been like 5 or 6 high schoolers pass out/have seizures/etc from vaping in the past school year. It's apparently also common now for local shitheads to sell pods that are made with shoeshine.

It used to be that the flu would punch holes into your lungs no matter how healthy or young you were, that was back when it was still a novel virus, now it's tantamount to the common cold. COVID-19 is a novel virus and completely new to humanity, so while this may indeed be its most deadly form, it could also mutate in the other direction and become more deadly.

900 million people in China are on lockdown, they've been rounded up into camps and makeshift prisons advertised as hospitals, they've been bringing mobile incinerators into Wuhan because they don't have enough to deal with the dead. They are lying about the numbers of infected and dead.

I called 311 and I'm calling my PCP to let him know but seems tests are being limited to first responders, people seriously ill and those coming from countries with known and widespread outbreaks. The CDC really dropped the ball on testing kits and not just because I have an interest in this but because we don't know how prevalent it is among the general public. In a crowded city like NYC where everyone takes the train and millions pass through hubs like Penn Station, Grand Central and JFK/La Guardia every day it's probably spreading as I'm typing.

True, but that's particularly the only really abysmal part about this aside from the obvious.

The fact that it's new, there's little to no research on it, and there's no known cures. I wouldn't worry otherwise.

Also the fact that the symptoms and what it does to you is up for debate too. Is it true this shit causes cytokine storms?
