It's a sad reality. Looks matter a lot when it comes to politics. It's like back in the 1960s when TV was gaining popularity. Nixon who wasn't used to the TV spotlight looked like a mess and his make-up wasn't done right, meanwhile, JFK who was already used to being in front of a camera looked fine. So you had a weird dynamic of people who listened to these debates on Radio, and those who watched the debates on TV. People who used radio thought Nixon did better, however people watching thought JFK was better.I spoke to several women and each one of them just talked about how nice his hair was. They literally voted for him cause they thought he was cool and handsome, to this day I bet most people cannot list any of his policies beyond weed and how Canada shouldn't have a national identity.
