So this thing is the bastard child of a flu on steroids and the genophage?

Honestly this article makes it sound like you're playing pretend superheroes with some kid in elementary school and he keeps making up new powers for himself to try and beat you.

"Now the Coronavirus can turn your skin into stone and can morph itself into a dragon!"

Global Times is just another CCP propaganda outlet.

To me, this just reads like part of a shit-flinging propaganda campaign. Fear, uncertainty and doubt. China shit the bed in full view of the world, and continues to struggle massively. They're scrambling like hell to distract and deflect.

Well look at that, more good news for California.

This homie's fucking out of it holy fuck.
Trump's crushing it like Stormy Daniels.

This is why you have a President Trump. He's waving all regulations to make things happen fast. He's surrounded by experts and making sure they have everything they need to keep people safe.

- Declaring a National Emergency. He's got a lot of money.

- Ordering every state to set up Emergency Operations Centers.

- Every hospital activates Emergency Preparation Plan.

- New authority to HHS Secretary.
-- can wave laws to enable telehealth
-- can waive license requirements
-- can waive requirements on number of beds, length of stay
-- can waive rules to bring in new physicans
-- can waive rules for where patients can be treated

- Student loans - interest is waved during this period

- Labs are increasing tests
-- New partnership to increase and accelerate capacity to test
-- Safe, quick and convenient tests
-- Only for people with certain symptoms
-- There's a new test for the virus
-- 500k additional tests available early next week
-- Roche - great job / Thermo fischer - you too good boys
-- 5 million tests within a month
-- pharmacies / retailers will be doing drive through tests
-- Google is helping to develop a website to determine if a test is warranted, will give you a code
-- 1,700 engineers working on site right now
-- Taking a test is totally unnecessary, we've learned a lot

- Debrah Berks comes up to speak
-- Not Stormy Daniels, looks more like Elizabeth Banks
-- Existing flu surveillance system, converted to diagnostic system
-- Overhauled testing approach (Trump made the call)
-- Labcorp and Quest are the good boys
-- new tests in WA and CA
-- grateful to universities and hospital systems
-- this is keeping CA / NY / CO alive
-- companies taking action to adopt and use new systems
-- Roche made something new in record time
-- "unleashing power of private sector"
-- we have developed a solution that will meet testing needs

- was part of AIDS epidemic
-- from from 81 - 85 to get a test
-- took another 11 years to hit therapy
-- took a week to mobilize the same people
-- behind the scnese action was not apparent
-- we now have an awesome system, came about fast

-- in south korean, they had a lot of tests
-- their positivity rate is between 3% and 4%
-- new approacj is about 1% positivity
-- thank you Google people

- high throughput automated machines take 24 - 36 hours to give results

- Tony to speak
-- example of proactive, lean forward, stay ahead of the curve
-- the order will remove constraints to help people from local to top govt
-- no constraints, unleashed, implement
-- containment, mitigation, curve that goes up
-- compress it to a small mound (looking at Berks)
-- this will end, this will make it end sooner than it would have

- Doug McMillan from Walmart
-- doing their part
-- making parking lot available for drive through tests
-- will do everything they can

- Richard to speak, walgreens
-- happy to stand in and help
-- stores are a beacon in the community
-- ready to engage and help
--

- Brian Cornell, Target
-- normally we're competitors, now we're going to kill coronavirus
-- we're keeping our stores open and running safe stores

- Some guy...
-- build devices
- we are ramping up
-- right devices / equipment are there

- Stephen / Qwest
- we were called by Pensce
- working with FDA
- up and running with tests
- we have the capabilities, this weekend we bring stuff in
- the capacity available is considerably increased

- Matt Sauce, Roache
-- we love the FDA

- David Peirre, Signfiy Health
-- largest house call provider in US
-- we are ready to help

- Trump
-- we are changing any other rules and regulations that need to be changed
-- anything old will get blown up

- Adam Schecter
-- Labcorp
-- we are working with everyone

_ Tom Moriarty, CVS
-- our patients have info and safety
-- bend me over

- Bruce Greenstein, LHC Group
-- Home health industry
-- proud to be part of the equation

People who have it cough like a heavy smoker. He's probably tired and exhausted.

Agree. The Presidency is a 24/7/365 job for four or eight years, normally. A President has to be able to deal with anything that comes up at any time. A President also gets information that at times can be downright frightening. Would say the WuFlu issue has taken a lot of his time. Since I believe President Trump knew what was happening in China from the get-go, he's been dealing with the issue for months now. Guy's what - 74?

Folks, things like this are why just about EVERY President ages markedly during the time in office. Only one who didn't seem to was Reagan, and am sure he dyed his hair. Trump didn't seem to until now. Would say one year as President ages a person 2-4 years, depending on the person. A President ideally tries to pace himself but am sure sometimes it just isn't possible. Some might say, "Delegate more." True, to a point. Am certain there are some things that are of a nature that the President is the ONLY one who can deal with it.

Sorry to double post, but this is what you do. You do what needs to be done, spend what needs to be spend, get the nation through the crisis, and worry about any consequences later. Presidents have done this throughout the nation's history.

During the nation's history, since the start of the 20th century the USA has been in many states of national emergency. Today's declaration of a national emergency just adds to the list. Note that we are already in a bunch of states of national emergency regarding certain problems.

yea just went out to buy some more stuff and the shelves are basically empty of any food that lasts more than a week or two and toilet paper is just flying off the shelves. feels damn good to have seen this shit coming and bought stuff over a month ago, i only regret that i didn't buy more.
I had to justify the expense and ask more from the roommates. The younger has been tracking this since we have and is on board, the older has been in media denial and a bit defensive. I only just had the 'birds and the bees, where do viruses come from?' talk with him two days ago in preperation for his doc visit. He's now thanking me for buying all that stuff over the last two months.

And yeah, I wish I could have bought more.
