I thought I heard something about Federal Emergency that Trump mumbled through it. I loathe when he goes off script on these events because you can tell he's adlibbing horribly with "Tremendous work." "Great job" "World Class" "Rapid delivery" and shit you know isn't in the speech.
"We all know where [the Corona Virus] came from"
-Trump when questioned on what he thinks about China's statements about America dealing with the wu flu
So, church services are cancelled, and all AA meetings have been made unallowed in public spaces. I foresee an uptick in "house meetings" like in the 40's.
*E*-Our President didn't know that Argentinian who he was pictured with and he takes pictures with hundreds of people every day.
Also, our Pres and VP are old. They probably shouldn't be together in public too often, if the hype is correct.
A Brazilian official who met President Trump and Vice President Pence at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday has tested positive for coronavirus, though Trump said he “isn’t concerned” about the development.

RIO DE JANEIRO/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who was recently in the United States and met with U.S. President Donald Trump, has tested negative for coronavirus, according to a post on his Facebook page on Friday.
Some media had earlier reported that a first test had been positive.
1:12 p.m. SF school district to provide free breakfast, lunch during closure: San Francisco Unified School District will provide free breakfast and lunch starting Tuesday for children at pick-up sites across the city. Officials will set up, clean and train staff at pick-up sites on Monday. Meals will include vegetables, fruit and milk. The district has the capacity to serve 11,600 breakfasts and 11,600 lunches each day.
One, ahahah... Two, ahahah... TWO! TWO daily plague feasts! Ahahah...
Don't forget to bring the Bugchaser Committee reps to read to all the little kiddos while dressed as satanic clowns.
Mild powerlevel but oh well, I picked up the Wu Flu and am now quarantined. So is my wife because she's probably infected. Luckily we're both not feeling too bad.

I went to PAX East Two Weeks ago. Woke up today with my chest feeling tingly and congested. I don't feel bad, beyond that. No coughing or fever. It is allergy season so I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but I am self quarantining just in case. What sucks is my state won't test me yet because I'm not above 60 or have a chronic health condition so I have no way of knowing.
my folks went on a shopping spree here in Sweden and alot of stores don't have any toilet paper. is it really that impotent? back in the old days people would just use leafs to wipe themselves.
I hit Sainsburys yesterday and just been in Tesco, no bumwad to be had. Pasta, flour and rice have similarly been stripped clean however the instant noodles at 40p a brick for north of 400 calories were untouched.
Fresh fruit and veg looked like a horde of locusts had descended, and tinned veg is being rationed. Thankfully, as an excessively online individual I went and stocked up on dry goods 3 weeks ago.
I gave up on trying to get TP from a supermarket. One was just completely wiped out (ho ho ho) and the other was just selling super-expensive 4-packs. Already got some. Not too bothered about it. You can wipe your nether regions and clean them in other ways. Having no food in the larder, however...
And what is it with tinned veg? It's nutritionally poorer (on the whole) compared to frozen veg. I guess some people just like mushy peas in a can. But ever tasted tinned carrots? Potatoes?
And lol at the fucking flour running out. I wonder how many of the people hoarding that even know how to bake a loaf of bread. They can't all be old granny types from back in the day. But it makes sense. In a prolonged quarantine bread is one of the first things to run out of. I've stocked up a bit on it but I've resigned myself to the fact it will be a no-bread diet after the first week or two. No biggie. I eat that shit soft white bread anyway coz I like it. I ate brown/seeded bread for decades, but just went off it recently for some reason. It's all shit anyway. Unless you're starving. In which case there are other ways to keep alive.
Just came back from a Sainsbury's in south britbong - no bog roll or multivitamins, all the cheap hand soaps are gone, plenty of posh wanker soaps left though. I heard the phrase "self-quarantine" about three or so times in hushed murmurs. A surprising number of old people, and the pharmacy lass behind the counter looked pretty frazzled. Oh, and all the mega boxes of pet food are out too.
It'll be interesting to see how we handle this as it unfolds.
Just got my south britbong shop delivered today by Asda. What a joke. I mentioned before in my last post to try and get a shop delivered by a couple of supermarkets. Do you know what those britbong walllyworld bastards did? They stripped a third of my fucking shopping right out of the equation. Let's see.
No rice. No vegetable oil. No eggs. No porridge oats. No sardines. And no fucking paracetamol (acetaminophen).
Plus a few other missing things.
I had to wait nearly a week for this delivery and they said they had all those things. I can understand them goofing off on the eggs because if supply is low it's better to give them to someone else so they don't go off. Limited shelf-life. But big bags of rice and porridge? If I order them and you say you have them you should put them aside to deliver to me even if it is days later. How hard can it be? They've got a fuck you attitude. They obviously just take your order and if it sells out in the week it takes to get to you well tough titty we'll sell it to some other mug punter.
Moral of this story: don't trust the fuckers. Do two shops with two different suppliers. Better to be over-stocked than under stocked. You can't get sardines anywhere now. Even in my new shop with Tescos they were rationing them to 2 tins per person! Coz they are cheap (40p), and non-perishable. So canny preppers are snapping them up. Shame they didn't ration the big bags of rice and whatnot. They don't care.
So, what was missing from that order, I added on to my order with tescos. Who seem to have most the stuff if not a little more expensive, but who's counting at this stage of the game.
But really, running out of paracetamol? A big shop like wallyworld owned asda with that big supply chain and you can't get a few packs of painkillers. They are supposed to be rationed as well so how did they run out? This doesn't bode well for the future. So much panic buying but so much ineptitude on the part of the supermarket chains.
And I couldn't even get eggs at tescos. Ok some expensive multi-size packs of 10. I bought two. I mean eggs don't last much longer than a few weeks either. I guess people just bought as many as they could off the shelf, hoping they would last. I only buy free range anyway so maybe that don't help but still. Don't forget to hard boil them and store them properly to get a few more days shelf-life out of them (look it up on the net). Yolks freeze a whole lot better than whites.
But apart from that I got my new bags of rice and oats. Still out of peanut butter though. I bought as many tins of fish as I was allowed in my ration. Pilchards are a good bet, they are actually sardines. And that semi-horrible tomato sauce them drown them in is an acquired taste. Except if you are hungry. And a massive tin of them only costs a little over a quid. Mix that in with some rice and frozen veg and tin of beans and some spices. Freeze what you have left over.
The trick is not to eat the same thing every day. So even if it's a little unpalatable you can squirrel it away for later. You might be glad of it. Buy fresh veg now and cook it in to food portions you can save for later in your freezer. That and the frozen veg should keep you going. It's a lot more than people had half a century ago on rations in WWII (then again some of them grew their own veg, so...).
I'm hoping that my new delivery tomorrow has most the stuff and if it does I might be a little over-stocked, but it won't go to waste. I have a shed load of beans. I like to make chilli. Most people don't realise that baked beans are just in fact harricot beans. They go for 50p a pop, so instead of bugging out because you can't get a six-pack of heinz beans for 3 quid (duh!), just buy six fucking tins of harricot beans instead. And they taste even better.
Buy every bean you can. There's hardly a bad bean out there. Long life, nutritionally dense protein bombs. All a chilli is, is a couple of tins of tomatoes with some onions chopped in and some tins of beans and rice thrown on top. Great if you have some peppers and peas and sweetcorn to add as well.
I can cook a half-decent chilli in my slow cooker in a few hours and get 5/6/7 servings depending on recipe. What I don't eat that night and keep for the next day goes in the freezer. Very simple and quick. Cheap, tasty and nutritious. I cook my Risotto in there too.
Talking of Risotto I got a few packs of decent proper rice for it (more expensive than normal rice) and I even bought some extra basmati and jasmine rice (not as expensive as Risotto rice but more expensive than easy cook rice) on top. So thanks and fuck you asda. Tesco does seem a lot more together with their shit.
So now I have easy cook rice, brown rice, risotto rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice and normal long grain rice. And I got more coming tomorrow as well. Or maybe not. I might have gone a bit over the top but the whole moral of this story once again is this: you can't trust the fuckers to deliver the stuff to you after a week waiting. I might end up with too much. Or I might end up with just enough of stuff that is still available in a month's time but has gone seriously up in price in the meantime.
The wait for tesco's was even longer. It's not even that long at xmas. A whole week nearly.
The delivery driver was looking at me very strange. The cogs were really turning over in his head. What is going on here - this is the 3rd or 4th nutter today that has nearly put my back out. Oh, I bought a load of water as well. That has been selling out fast. I made a mistake on my order and went back and hours later all the big cheap water had gone. I don't expect to need it but water is one thing you don't want to run out of. It's not unheard of for them to close the taps here to fix pipes as well, so, it was a few quid well spent. If I still have it summertime I'll give it to my plants.
I also bought some very cheap Spirit vinegar for cleaning and some Distilled vinegar for cooking (40p/Liter). It's basically the same stuff but Spirit vinegar is a slightly higher concentration and slightly better for cleaning where as Distilled vinegar is slightly weaker and slightly better for cooking/pickling/medicinal use. For 40p a Litre (iirc - might have been half liter) it's throwaway stuff and a no-brainer. I'd rather splash that all over my worktops and be chopping veg 30 seconds later once it's dried than fussing with hydrogen peroxide or dettol or wtf.
There are about 20 different types of vinegars but these are the more common and cheaper and utilitarian ones. Consider them if you can't get hold of disinfectant at the last minute. You can even use it for burns and all kinds of things. Some people just put it on their chips, which is prolly just what I'm gonna do.
Finally, I found a source for some vitamin C powder and also NAC.
Both are great for fighting viral shit and in fact have been used in China to treat patients with the WuFlu.
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is the supplement form of the amino acid cysteine, which plays several important roles in human health. Here are the top 9 health benefits of NAC.
www.healthline.com
NAC especially aids lung stuff. And vitamin C is a low cost and proven aid in fighting all this stuff. And it does little harm even if it doesn't work (might give you the runs). I take these to help with my auto immune stuff. They do help a bit. I'm taking 12000 Grams of Vitamin C a day at the moment. I buy kilos of the stuff.
I've not bothered with masks as I don't plan on going out of the house much and even if I did I wouldn't be wearing goggles so what's the point?
There are so many bits and pieces I've missed out on but I've got the basics. I'm used to being shut in.
But you can still catch the flu even if you don't leave the house. I had one at the end of last year that was a nasty little cold for 3 days. And I had not left my house for 3 weeks. I could only have caught it off a delivery driver. No other explanation. Bad luck I guess.
I'm goint to do a shop with Sainsbury's in the next day or two and see how the wind is blowing there and what the delivery times are like and what they have in stock. I envision in a few more days that rationing will be much more widespread. But it should calm down in a bit, I mean, there's only so much space in our little britbong houses to hoard 45 fucking rolls of god damn bog roll.
Anyway, be gentle with me, I'm still learning the (new) rules here (even though I've lurked for a long time). If I get something wrong I'm sure you'll let me know. I'll figure it out.
I think these are the 'interesting times' the Chinese of old used to curse their enemies with.
Well guess what motherfuckers, we're all in interesting times now.
The thing is with all of this, is that we are all still in very early days with it all, both in what we know and also what nobody knows. Too many variables to calculate on the fly from an incomplete and ever-moving data set. Add in public ignorance and greed. Add in political grandstanding and opportunism.
The coming days, weeks, months, probably years, we are going to see the very best of people and the very worst of them as well, all coming to light and out of the darkness eventually.
I think everyone knows by this point though, it's going to be a bit of a wild ride.
