I reviewed the Renfamous post. Immaculate Ape basically doxed themselves. Zero effort was made to preserve anonymity and I don't understand why.

So why choose to operate this way? Out of laziness, I suppose. It's not even like IA was just some random, they're obviously embedded in this, were friends with Vic, were working for affiliate companies, and were also actively doxing opposition for the hell of it.
I take these sorts of events seriously. Infighting hurts the community. Community members being fags and getting negative attention off-site for fag behavior makes the site look faggy. Users getting doxed also scares away skiddish potential new users. I make every conceivable effort to have anonymity be a foremost effort of the site without just breaking down user identities and having the community erode into a faceless, valueless free-for-all like image boards.
Usually in these situations I do an anti-matter thing where I ban everyone involved for embarrassing me but WW is so isolated from the rest of the site I'm not sure I should bother.

I don't think Funimation will settle unless Sony forces their hand. They're all too deep into this to admit defeat on their own volition. It's the sunk costs fallacy at work.
I think they're waiting for appeals and are kind of worried, since there's a good chance that Vic could actually win the appeals and then a new round of discovery begins. That's the last thing that Funimation wants, but given how cliquish everything is, they will keep doubling and tripling down unless Sony intervenes and forces them to settle.

I'd say this is less so a "hugbox" and more so, there are regulars and then there are tourists around this section. Of course there will be stepping of toes when there comes along a random shitposter who has a major hate boner for something/someone/group. Well considering the actions of kickvic and law faggots, it is a somewhat reasonable conclusion and then add in the Canadian costhots added to the mix, kind of would be sensible given how often they lurk and snipe at this thread constantly. But yes, I wouldn't even consider that shitposter to be kv, just has a hate boner for trans. That's my take away.

I'm probably quite late on this, but since I was reminiscing a bit on "Escaflowne" and just found out that it had a Movie made in the 2000 that I've missed back then, was reading the eng wiki page and noticed that BOTH Vic and Chuck were on it, along some other familiar names in the Funi ver I've read on the weebwars during all this time, guess at that time no one hated Vic or had any desire to cancel him like now?
The redub was a few years ago. 2000's dub was by the original Ocean actors from the show (with Andrew Francis at his best as Dilandau. Uhnf).

In defense of the counter argument (although not going to lie there is a bit of a herd mentality on this particular thread due several factors), in this case it was not so much the herd mentality thing, as it was that the idiot came in acting like an attention seeking asshat and people responded as most people do towards attention seeking asshats, by moking them and insulting them.
Him taking the doc from Renfamous as Gospel probably didn't help either because most people consider that the only things valuable that comes from Renfamous are that everything she campaigns to ruin tends to do well and the blubber.
