True. Partially because they don't have much in the way of actual production staff.It's also at least mildly disingenuous to treat Naughty Dog as representative of problems in the industry at large; they have been infamous since the '90s for having some of the worst crunch in the business, and even their own people have freely admitted many times over the years that their production management sucks ass.
"Be your own producer" and all that.
I'm not saying that Naughty Dog should not improve their management and workflows. I think the whole industry needs that, to some extent. But they're pretending like removing crunch will do anything good for the product. The logistics necessitate some type of burn period. No, it should not compromise the actual health of the employees, but to say that it "should" be banned when it exists in every other industry as a basic reality is ludicrous.
