Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine and Doctors of Medicine receive the same training to the point where they attend the same graduate programs as their MD counterparts. D.O.'s specialize in
preventative medicine that focuses on doing their best to make sure that you never get sick in the first place, where-as an M.D. specializes in treating you
after you've already gotten sick. More-over, D.O.'s have to undergo an
additional 200 hours of training that MD's never receive in the first place.
D.O. is not a lesser degree than an M.D. It's a functional equivalent with a different training route and skillset. You'd know this if you actually spent more time fleshing out your "sick burns" and less time shoveling hamburgers down your
sphere-shaped face.
