Wait.. is anyone saying they don't matter, or are they just making it up for asspats?

Not directly, but you see plenty of people saying, "eh, it don't matter. I'm not in any danger if I get it." The idea is to get people to realize that even if they won't die from it, there are people who are at a much higher risk out there that they could meet and spread it to.

I understand that 4chan is cancer, but so is KiwiFarms, and like likes like according to chemistry, so here is a list of links compiled by /pol/tards regarding Corona-chan.

Of particular note, I found the studies surrounding the persistence of the virus and reinfection to be incredibly interesting.

I tried to include the links in a spoiler, but I can only make a post so long before the site rejects it.
I'm glad the internet is finally learning to ARCHIVE EVERYTHING

I think that some might be genuine, but I wouldn’t be surprised if munchies were also part of that group. Either way, it looks desperate. It’s one thing to let your close friends and family know, but showing it on Twitter is just begging for attention.

Amazing.

So now there is a new popular HashTag going around called "#HighRiskCovid19" Where a bunch of Fat Women are trying to hijack the hashtag from people who were born with immunocompromised diseases and using the hashtag for their excuse of being fat and therefore at higher risk. I got a HashTag for them its called #GettingInShape4Covid

I see such a campaign as backfiring. Nobody want to hear a pity-party. These folks need to get off social media and lock themselves in the house. Either people care about infecting the vulnerable, or they could give a flying fuck. Never admit vulnerability and expect sympathy. Hard lesson from living in the city. And in college towns, actually.

Instead lock your doors and don't leave.

Something worth pointing out for anyone concerned:
South Korea has drive through testing available and likely have the most accurate caseload numbers available.

A quick math check shows that with currently 8k infected along with only 72 currently reported deaths attributed to COVID, the mortality rate comes out to 0.08% assuming the caseload is accurate. Still more deadly than Influenza, but nowhere near the 3-4% currently being reported.

It almost seems like this is being widely blown out of proportion and the mass public panic is unreasonable. Running humidifiers would eliminate most of the airborne risk after all.

Big take: Boomer paranoia.

All the people running the govt and health agencies are boomers who are worried they will get it themselves. They're the ones shutting everything down even though the virus has very little chance of killing anyone who is healthy.

Boomers still technically qualify as "people", but only because of semantics.

To be fair sarcoidosis is an immune disorder, it affects the lungs and heart and its treated with prednisone which makes you susceptiple to weight gain and infection. But of course stay inside, disinfect your home and stay away from anyone with even a hint of an illness.

Don't we have similar numbers from the cruise ships, where I suspect everyone is tested and he have a decent idea of deaths to total infected(compared to real world where the people with minor to no symptoms probably never get their infection added to the statistics)

Yeah, at the commissary (military grocery store) today there was a couple much older than me ahead of me in the checkout line. Both the man and woman looked very frail. Noticed he was wearing gloves. They kept their shopping cart between me and them in line, for the protection of distance.

For some reason don't believe all the "guests" who bought up so much at the commissary today will be doing it next Saturday. The garrison commander sets the policies on signing guests into the commissary. He didn't like what he saw today. Commissary manager emailed me and said to expect a change next week, and they were looking at imposing item limits on certain products. Have no problem with any authorized patron shopping at the commissary, but fuck any shitbag from downtown shopping there that hasn't earned the privilege.

Commissary prices can be as much as 30% or more cheaper than the same item downtown. Food is sold at cost plus a 5% surcharge to pay for building new commissaries and revamping old ones. Tax-free. You can pay to have your groceries bagged and taken to your vehicle, or you can bag your own. Can also self-checkout. Accepts coupons, WIC, and food stamps.

I expect a rather different shopping experience next Saturday.

Added - am a boomer. Have health issues. Not sweating this at all. Find the widespread run of fear and ignorance disgusting. Fuck running scared. Nothing wrong with being prudent, though. Just relax and keep things in perspective.

I doubt that. Reason being, is that boomers who are afraid of contracting the virus would look out for #1 and duck and cover. They would just take leave from running any agency, People who are closing school districts and branches of state and local govt. might happen to be boomers but they are folks who stand a lot to gain or lose by the decisions they make.

Fact of the matter, if everybody in America tested positive and most remained asymptomatic, it is still lethal for the super-elderly, and for people with pre-existing conditions. So the percent of people it maims and kills is less important, than the fact that it's targets are not random, and predictable.

Yes, around .1%, i attribute that .02 increase to boomers being the target demographic for cruises.

Here is my take on the situation, This is the first time in the history of humans that a worldwide joint effort to shut everything down is occurring at the cost of trillions of dollars allowing the world markets to crash every country worth a damn is choosing to grind to a complete halt, many business' big and small will fail to the point of not being able to recover. But maybe you are right and its not a big deal and governments around the world are doing this for fun. China has been under lockdown and quarantine for 3 months and is still going its not unreasonable the rest of the world involved will most likely follow a similar model. For this extreme reaction there is probable reason to believe there is something fucked up going on we are not being let in on.

Apparently, they're spraying kids down with disinfectant spray in Memphis.

I love the shot of the old lady with the yellow shopping bags over her head. Reminds me of the chinks with the water jugs over their heads.

New Florida cases.

Edit:

"If you're healthy, don't wear masks. They'll just make your face sweaty."

Just tell the truth and say that you don't want a mask shortage. Don't tell lies and say they're ineffective at keeping contaminants out. Your credibility as a healthcare professional is already ruined by your fatness and dangerhair.
