Zoom, Bluejeans, google hangouts, all are viable and useful as long as you provide a telephone number for the idiotic boomer manager so they can dial in on their house phone.

Considering they’re giving away Zoom subscriptions for three months, I believe this. There have been a lot of educators talking about how to use Zoom in my channels over the past week too, which is a group that generally didn’t use it before now.

Overall Death Rate:

So far in the world I think it's the frequency of the cases rising that is the only big factor. The beats are about the same. People aged 60+(Mainly men) and those that have prexisting conditions are at most risk for it. However everyone can be a target so best is to stay inside mainly and avoid contact with others unless you're required to for medical reasons.

People are reporting though that in areas like Africa the virus is dying out due to the heat, which when late spring/early summer hits should be easier on everyone due to increasing temp. It'll be good for the time but when Winter rolls back around it'll prob happen again.

We've had a lot of 'fake' pandemics that never really caught on (swine flu, avian flu, Ebola, SARS) but this is the only one where countries are willing to let their economy take a massive hit to try to prevent cases.

So if this is no more dangerous than the average flu why are countries willing to completely shut down and tank their economy to try to prevent the spread? There's got to be some aspect of this that we don't know about.

Okay there's absolutely no way we've been getting accurate figures from Iran or China over the last month, and the crisis in Italy and europe has been providing cover for that.

What are realistic numbers for infections and deaths in these countries? In China its got to be millions of infections, and in Iran if the majority of the parliament's got it then at least Tehran is compromised (would be open to believing wide swaths of the country is isolated enough to be free of it though)

Also, for all the memeability of Nigeria coming out and saying they've got it under control because they beat Ebola, I actually kind of buy it. Their preparedness has nothing to do with Ebola and everything to do with demographics. The lethality seems to spike in the over 60s, and in Africa I'd wager 95% of the population is below 60 and therefore is only gonna get killed by this if they've already got an underlying condition. I hope it doesn't spread down there, but it doesn't have the potential to depopulate the way it can in the OECD

So I've noticed two things in the last few days as the Wu Flu panic continues to escalate.
Firstly, I knew the Chinese were a bunch of racist fucks but goddamn I've seen more subtlety from The Westboro Babtist Church. I just had a conversation this morning with a friend who said "I'm hoping it'll kill a bunch of boomers" to which I responded "That's not nice", his reply still has me baffled at his justification "It's not about being nice it's about saving the world." What the fuck is wrong with you people seriously? What happened to love and respect for your fellow man? How is it that a generation of liberals who preach tolerance and love are the closest thing to actual nazis I've ever seen in person?
