The Official Simpsons Griefing Thread

To be honest, I never really considered Maude's death to be that much of a deal breaker for the show like everyone else seems to and the loss of Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure was one of those things that couldn't be helped. If Phil Hartman was still alive, I'd wager that those characters would still be in the show and that Al Jean would find a way to ruin Hutz and McClure in that Zombie Simpsons sort of way.

To me, the show truly felt different and irreversibly changed with the movie. I always imagined a Simpsons movie to be like a grand series finale instead of what we got. After the movie, there were no enjoyable seasons and no really good moments like in the pre-movie seasons.
The Simpsons Movie has always felt really weird to me.
In an almost uncanny valley way watching it has just never felt "right" to me.
The pieces are there but it just feels like some slightly above average extended episode than a grand finale.
I think it's because the movie isn't some braindead corporate shambling corpse like what came after but it's not good like the golden age either.
So the result is some strange form of cinematic limbo that doesn't really leave you feeling anything after you watch it.
Damn thing was focus grouped and revised to high hell too from what I heard.
Also around season 12 is my personal cut off point.

When did the show start clearly going "woke?"
I guess it depends on what your definition of woke is. If you mean when they became partisan leftist, it was certainly as early as 2004 when they made the especially retarded Bart-Mangled Banner.
This oh-so-funny gag is from 2005
When I first saw this, I saw the Canadian flag on Lisa's backpack and chuckled. Then they had to go and EXPLAIN the joke by virtue signal.

God, that blowed.

I think we can blame Coronavirus on the Asians, OAKLEY. It came from China and it's because they eat bats, apparently, so therefore the blame can be placed on Asian culture.

Not to be petty, but don't make me remove $pringfield from my top 10, Oakley. I know you're a cliche ORANGE MAN BAD motherfucker, but don't try to remove your authenticity away because you choose not to offend.
