Yes, the government’s super secret racist plan is to kill illegal immigrant children by exposing them to a virus that only kills the elderly and those with low immune systems.

So Google apparently has a monopoly on WuFlu testing, I can't wait until some tards go on about how Plod Turd Man is behind it, especially given how much Google hates him.

it's probably because the US government hasn't actually stopped refugee intake despite a fucking pandemic.

When you see stuff like this it makes it hard to refrain from fedposting.

They are completely and totally demoralized and I'm so, so here for it.
They just can't for once in their miserable lives just admit they've been wrong :story: they were so used to being told "awww you're right heres a ribbon" but Trump grabbed them by the ribbons and pissed on them with hookers.

Honestly, If they're tired of losing they should just join the side that wins bigly much.

Yeah I'm not sure that's actually refuting the story. Initial reading of the story made it sound like Trump wanted the US to have the copyright for a vaccine owned by the US (by the government itself?), whereas this quote is talking about how the US didn't offer to buy their entire company.

Fair enough. Maybe once all this nonsense calms down we'll be able to get to the bottom of this.

Guy's be careful here we are entering unseen levels of parody, if we push it we may cause a rip in the time space continuum and end up with getting Jeb as a president.
Remember last year how the hot topic for the minute was those camps weren't being properly funded, so there was this big deal about toilet paper? I wonder what the situation is like now with all the shortages.

Obviously it's Orange Man's fault though.

My opinion on the matter has been the same for a long time: it doesn't matter how cheap your iPhones or TVs or vidya gaems are if you don't have a job that pays well enough to afford them. I'd much rather have an economy with plenty of well-paying jobs across every sector than pay a couple hundred less for a new phone. And as the Wu Flu has made abundantly clear, it's far better for us not to rely so heavily on a country with antagonistic tendencies towards us.

The bigger issue is capital and logistics.

The tl;dr is China in the 90s/00s was selling steel at less than cost. It was really shit quality, initially but the government didn't care because China could afford to eat near infinite losses if it meant fucking over foreign competitors. Steel mills are not things you start to shut down with a switch. Once you shut down all US (or EU or wherever) steel mills, the cost to start up a new steel mill is really steep. The cost to build a NEW steel mill is unreasonable. So once you price compete all your foreign competitors out of the market, or at least a large swath of their capacity, you are now free to raise prices higher than they were before. The only ceiling on the price you can charge is the cost of recapitalizing a new plant.

China kept at it, got better, and has gutted the global steel industry & capacity.

China has done the same with electronics - though that's a lot more dubious since they can now compromise the silicon.

But the other thing you get to do when you control the market is all the shipping is built and based around your market. This makes it even harder for anyone to compete with you and break into the market, since they are going to have to drop to their knees for shipping and freight to move thier stuff.

This is also say nothing of internal logistics and work force skill/training.

The world should be fucking terrified at how much production capital is in China. Even if Apple wanted to move away from FoxCon's Chinese assets, where would they move to? No one else has the capacity to feed them, and that should cause a huge worry for everyone.

As shitty and inconsistent as the US is on the international stage, the US are fucking saints when it comes to the Chinese.

Of course, which is why it isn't as simple as just "make more jobs lol." China played the long game and came out on top, not just with steel and electronics but pharmaceuticals as well, as we're now painfully aware. The rest of the world sat back and just let it happen, let China manipulate their currency and flood the markets with cheap crap that forced tons of industrial capacity to collapse. And if any single country decided to try and restart a collapsed industry, China would muscle them out again.

It would be no less painful to extricate ourselves from Chinese hegemony, and probably more so. I don't think the US could go it alone in this case; so long as any country continues to let China rip them off, they'll keep doing it. And let's not forget Belt and Road effectively enslaving multiple nations through massive debt. It feels to me like it would take the combined forces of pretty much every other country on the planet to get them to play fair, but that would be one hell of a difficult task to pull off. It'll only get harder the longer we wait, though.

What would happen if China's economy collapses, though? We all know the ChiComs lie about basically everything, so they're very likely lying about the state of their economy. Would a Chinese collapse make it easier to break free from their control, or would our interconnected economies bring us down with them?
